I have probably one of the most stubborn unmotivated dogs alive (an Akita) and Corinne has done wonders with him. She trains using positive reinforcement. She is gentle and kind and it is obvious when she works with your dog that she seriously knows her stuff. My dog responds to her methods really well. She works with both the owner and the dog so that while she is shaping behaviors she is also teaching you how to reinforce those behaviors and teaching you the principles of positive reinforcement and using clicks and small treats to communicate with the dog. She is also extremely reasonable for a private trainer. I feel so lucky to have found Corinne!

Corinne was able to get me on track, keep me motivated and truly helped me succeed and pass this extremely difficult class. She took the time needed to help me understand, always came prepared to my house with an agenda and truly cared about the outcome. We knew we were on the right track, when less than a month after starting with their reading program, she lost her reluctance to even try to read. And she loves the tokens, games, and prizes that Sylvan offers to keep things fun. Now, after roughly 3 months not only is he finding it much more enjoyable to learn to read, but he's even one of the more advanced readers in his class. I've seen improvements in his handwriting. His spelling is still pretty bad, but he went from refusing to even attempt to write anything to now he is at least willing to sound things out and write things out phonetically. His only complaint about some of the tutors is that they make him do his work (which is exactly their job- I would not be as happy if they were not doing that), but overall he likes everyone there.

She was good at comparing things to nature to make my child understand. Thanks to her, my child returned telling me all these beautiful comparisons of nature and tests. She is also very humorous. She got my child cracking up and truly enjoying sessions. And, gosh, she is amazing at teaching time management. Mrs. B came up with a whole schedule for my child to work on. One of the most valuable characteristics about Mrs. B is her patience. She sits though the session and does her best to make the child understand, and is very thorough, cuts down to the foundation, and starts everything from the beginning. Mrs. B was essential in my child's academic success, and my family is grateful to her.... a LOT!! Thank you Mrs. B for truly caring about children and being such a great teacher!

We ended up stopping for him only because he started getting homework at school and it was tough to keep up with both for him. My daughter started when she was about 4 and did tremendously well. When she started at 4 years old, I thought it might be too soon but she caught on pretty quickly. There was a lot in the reading books that she couldn't read and we helped but the phonics it taught set her up for success as she got more comfortable reading on her own. She's currently in kindergarten and is mastering the school work very easily. English language is hard and hard to describe the different sounds and why things are spelled a certain way. I honestly learned a lot from the reading books too. For math, I like that it's problem solving based and making them deduce code words to figure out what they're solving. The books have similar format through out the week but the content is different which keeps the kids from getting bored. Farah runs an excellent program here and we are really happy with our kids progress here. It's a great way to supplement school.

My husband and I knew she struggled with reading, but were in denial as to how bad it actually was until we saw how poorly she'd done on her initial assessment. It took time, but by the end of the school year we were amazed at her transformation, and not just in reading. Her confidence seemed to spill over into other areas, and she (unknowingly) was applying her new-found skills to other subjects like math and writing. The director was in touch with my daughter's teacher and met with us regularly to keep us apprised of progress. I was surprised that my daughter never seemed to mind going, seeing as she was attending 4 sessions a week. I was worried she'd be overwhelmed, but she never complained.
