I would like to share my experience with Lan Do a tutoring coach from AJ Tutoring. I'm 78 year old man wanting to become a certified health coach. I took a course and prepared for my exam (150 multiple choice questions in 3 hours). I studied hard and felt very prepared for the exam and failed! I was devastated and forlorn. A friend suggested I call AJ Tutoring of Los Gatos, and I did. I was referred to Lan Do and we made an appointment for a video call/coaching session. The How To Be Successful in High School class with Lindsay Huysentruyt really helped me get ready and be more confident in my transition from middle school to high school. He is super smart and organized (as you would expect from such a high caliber organization as AJT) - but what sets Robin apart is his ability to connect with my teenager. Our two boys have been working with Kamlapati Khalsa, a math and programming tutor (AJ Tutoring Los Gatos Blvd) since June 2016. My wife and I wanted to supplement and advance our boys math and programming skills beyond what is expected; Kamlapati consistently exceeds our expectations. The boys consistently see Kamlapati every week for an hour throughout the year - during the school year and summer. Many times Kamlapati shows the boys different techniques on how to solve the same math problem. Other weeks he is preparing them for advanced math concepts. The boys always look forward to seeing and working with Kamlapati; they look forward to these work sessions. He takes interest in the boys other activities and sports, and he has been able to see them grow up - elementary, middle, and high school. Ryan Li helped my daughter for preparation for SAT. My daughter benefited substantially, and saw improvement of 130 points in her score from the previous SAT she took. Ryan always answered my questions/queries almost instantaneously - via text, via email or a phone call. He reminded my daughter of all the appointments and gently reminded her to complete the homework. He carved out the practice tests that she should take, and went over what she missed in the practice tests. Recently college board published practice tests 9 and 10. My son recently completed SAT prep with Payson Marsh in the Los Gatos office. I could not be more satisfied with the results. All the arguing in our house disappeared once I turned my son over to Payson who is VERY well suited for coaching/tutoring teens. His style is non-judgmental, he has many practical tips and useful test taking strategies for his students, he genuinely cares about helping those he works with improve, he is flexible and he has great follow-through. Most importantly Payson has been a calming force for my son who had been feeling tremendous pressure to do well on the SAT. I would highly recommend her. The office is in a convenient location, the tutors are very professional and email you back very quickly. I personally enjoy getting snacks and the rolly ranchers. This year I have tutor Ian and Heather and they are both very good and very knowledgeable. There tutors seem to book out very fast so sometimes it's hard to get on the schedule. It's a bit pricey compared to other places but there program is well established, very organized and they seem like they know what they are doing.
