Even though we applied on short notice and joined during the winter term, the director, teachers, staff, and parents welcomed us warmly. This was our daughter's first school experience, but she quickly felt comfortable and part of the community. She loved the thoughtful, play-based activities and was always excited to see her teachers and friends. My wife has worked with young children for more than 25 years and was very impressed with the school. She enjoyed volunteering, learned a great deal, and formed meaningful friendships with other parents. SPNS offers a wonderful environment not only for children to learn and grow, but also for parents to participate, connect, and feel supported. Leaving after only three months was heartbreaking for our daughter because she had grown so attached to the school and her friends. Fortunately, we are still in touch with some of the families from Thailand. We wholeheartedly recommend SPNS to parents looking for a nurturing, engaging, and community-oriented preschool. I can't show enough appreciation for what the school has brought to our lives. Alexis is such a wonderful teacher and director. She truly cares about the school and families. Her teaching style is fun yet calm and supportive. Our oldest was timid a bit reserved when we first started back in 2022 and after two years at SPNS she gained confidence and learned how to use her big voice. The biggest complement we got was her TK teacher stating that they can tell she went to preschool. SPNS prepared her for peer to peer interactions, conflict resolution, letters, how to recognize her name (w/o being able to read), sitting for circle time, listening, patiently waiting in a line, etc. because of SPNS we, as parents, felt confident sending her to elementary school. This year we get to experience Teacher Lisa with our second child and it is going well. Lisa has a calm, supportive and loving teaching style. You can tell she truly cares for each and every child. SPNS truly takes the time to capture and cultivate a supportive and loving community. Many of our family friends we've met through SPNS and still keep in contact today. From the moment you step through the doors, you feel the warmth and genuine care. This is more than a school, it is a community where friends recommend friends, parents send siblings, and kids return to say hi. Ms. Cindy, the director, sets the culture of caring and action - keeping track of everything that's going on, knows every student, parent, and grandparent. Ms. Ching-wen, the admin, is incredibly responsible and on top of things, and always kind and supportive to parents. The teachers and staff are dedicated and caring - they encourage kids to develop good habits and become more independent, structure classrooms to optimize learning, and closely monitor playground dynamics. My daughter graduated from all 4 classrooms and loved all her teachers, growing especially close to her Room 3 teachers this past year. One of the nice things is there is a sense of continuity even as the kids move classrooms since the teachers are still around and say hi and hug the kids, which is heart-warming. The breadth and depth of information the kids learn is impressive. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that much of what is taught in Growing Tree is covered in public kindergarten. One of things I really liked was that while Growing Tree is academic, it is also fun and well-rounded. There were many times I wished I could go. Every holiday is celebrated with great fanfare, there are themed weeks where kids dress up and bring books/toys from home, community speakers like local law enforcement & firefighters (yes they bring the truck), cooking activities, lots of crafts, and bounce houses & popsicles in the summer. The parents are also very involved and giving - relationships with other parents form quickly if you socialize. Growing Tree also has class events / performances where you may be coincidentally seated next to your child's friends' parents. Looking back at old photos, I appreciate all the ways they are so thoughtful. They frequently share photos and videos of school events and pictures of your child so you are up-to-date on what's going on. I also really appreciate how the communication was always open between parents and teachers / staff. If you have a question or concern, you can just ask at the next drop-off / pick-up, email, or call - they are quick to respond in all channels. Teachers / staff will pro-actively let you know if anything comes up. It's kind of amazing with so many kids but they really do know what's going on with every child every day. Wanted to shoutout all of the wonderful teachers and staff that make Growing Tree what it is. There are so many people and we will miss seeing you every day. She's grown tremendously in that time not only in a bilingual Chinese and English education but also in art, science, and dance. We love the supplemental electives they provide, and the attention to each child that they provide (the parent teacher conferences are tailored to each child). We felt like we knew exactly where our daughter stood in terms of development and she's well prepared for kindergarten (one of the reasons why we kept her at growing tree instead of going to TK). There is also a wonderful close knit parent community at Growing Tree and everyone really fosters the community spirit instead of just focusing on academics and performance. It makes it an enjoyable all around experience for parents and teachers and we keep in touch with many of my daughters friends and other parents.

All the teachers are so 100% involved with making the school as best as it can be. They are full of knowledge, and know how to teach the parents as well as the kids. Being a parent at CCNS does require involvement, but we were able to switch off between us two parents depending on our work schedules to cover the weekly in class participation over the many years. Getting to know the kids and parents deeply is part of the experience that makes CCNS a wonderful community. The CCNS community helped us through COVID when our first child attended, and the experience showed me how much effort the teachers are willing to put in to make the school work in the toughest situation (zoom with toddlers!). I can't recommend this school highly enough. Big Trees is another great program run by the school, where the kids get to hold class and hike in a new first location every week. Our youngest attended with our nanny, as any adult can attend with the child. They had a blast, rain or shine.

Fast forward to today, she has blossomed into a cheerful, outgoing child. Watching this transformation has been truly amazing. The Mandarin development alone is worth writing this review for. She started without knowing a single word of Chinese. Now she can hold conversations, comes home singing new Chinese songs every week, and even recites poems and rhymes with confidence. We didn't do anything special at home to encourage this, it was entirely the result of the school's teaching. The building itself is a bit older, and I remember noticing that during our first visit. I almost let it influence my decision, but I'm so glad we looked beyond it. What truly makes this school special is its teachers. Update: Over a Year Later…read more Now that we have been at Stratford for over a year, we deeply appreciate the incredible support the school has provided to our kids' development and growth. When our older daughter transitioned from public school, there was quite a learning curve. She initially found the homework challenging, but her teachers were incredibly flexible and accommodating, giving her the extra time she needed and allowing her to write in print while she was still learning cursive. Now in fifth grade, she finds her workload easy to manage, is properly challenged academically, and feels completely comfortable in class. What truly set Stratford apart for her, though, was the community support. Her homeroom teacher, Mrs. Broke, actually went to see her dance competition live, while her classroom watched the livestream! This gave her tremendous courage and recognition. Over time, that sense of belonging helped her get so much more comfortable making friends, and she genuinely enjoys all her time at school. Given her fantastic experience, we transferred our younger daughter from public school over to Stratford this year. She is in Mr. Stokes' class, and he is such a warm, wonderful teacher. He helped ease her transition perfectly. She has blended right in, made friends, participates easily in class, and is having a blast. Mr. Stokes even noticed what a great writer she is and has been recommending ways to continue challenging her, including proposing that she participate in a writing competition. We feel so well supported by the teachers and the entire leadership team. It is a very close-knit, nurturing community. Recently, my kids started their own business at a children's business fair, and friends helped send out business flyers and went to the fair to support their business. The Head of School, Mrs. M, gave my daughter wonderful encouragement that really built her confidence for her first big event. My kids truly feel a sense of belonging there. The majority of them have been there since the preschool opened and have many years of experience dealing with small children. Any school can structure a daily program or learning activity plans but knowing your child is with a teacher that is warm, patient, and emphatic is PRICELESS. - The classrooms have a huge spread of activities to encourage play and learning. My daughter comes home every day with a new piece of art learning the alphabet or a cool paint project. The rooms and toys are clean and they take extra precautions to prevent the spread of germs. - Paying more tuition doesn't equate to "getting more" when it comes to a preschool. We've paid almost double at other preschools and the level of care was definitely not up to par in comparison to Moreland. Every single morning my daughter runs into Ms. Susie's arms and never looks back. She's never had a bad day and it's heartwarming to know that. My daughter started off with Ms.Susie's AM class last year for couple months, Miss Susie and Diana gave lots of love and made school a fun place to go to! Last fall I decided to register for 5hour all day class for my daughter, she was assigned to Ms.Dolores and Ms.Usha's class. Both of them have soooo much love and passion towards all the kids I couldn't ask any better! They are great in teaching social emotional skills (which is crucial in this age) , lots of crafts & hands on activities to learn each concepts in academic. Play based learning can be very effective for firm foundation! My daughter became super outgoing, active, purely happy going to school everyday! She tells me she loves school! It's really amazing how she's thriving here! I know we feel so safe and happy at this environment I wish others can experience! All the teachers have been fantastic! My eldest's first teacher was Mrs. Fang and I thought she was the best teacher possible, so patient and caring, and taught the kids so much. However, I later realized that all their teachers are very good! I was a little worried initially when I found out my younger kid's first teacher wouldn't be in Mrs. Fang's class but again was pleasantly surprised that Mrs. Celia and Mrs. Gul are just as great and he has adapted incredibly fast. The teachers really care for the kids and have immense patience too. He isn't potty trained now, but I imagine like for my eldest, the teachers at Little Tree will train him before he's 3. I remember dreading doing potty training and by the time I thought about starting, turns out they had been practicing at school already so I didn't have to put in any effort. Academics wise I have been incredibly impressed too. They learn a lot of Chinese language and cultural things including poems which I can barely understand. For English, I tried to teach my kid the ABCs and reading the BOB books but over the years I have learned I don't have to do much actually since school has prepares them well. After just 2.5 months I can see my 2 year old has grown a lot and can sing the ABCs, learned to clean up, and communicates much better. My eldest in TK age can really well and even reads me stories now. One of her classmates that changed schools a few months back told me that the new school is not nearly as advanced and didn't realize how much our kids had learned there. When my eldest started transitioning to the next class, I really appreciated how the teachers would take her over to the new class and let her check out the place for 1-2 weeks before the transfer so she can get familiar slowly. The teachers also check that the kids are actually ready to be moved up both emotionally and academically. This was in contrast from my friend's preschool when they would just move kids once they were at the age, and her kid ended up adjusting very well and couldn't catch up with the older kids. We had several transitions and each time very smooth. I also like how the school really celebrates all the holidays and puts on great shows throughout the year, with the Christmas holiday performance being one of the biggest ones. I love watching the kids sing and dance in both English and Chinese. Lastly, the director Mrs. Amanda and teachers are all very cautious with the kids. I get notified if my kids have some scratches or bruises even if they were there in the morning when they got to school. If they fall or bump themselves, they will also tell me. One time my kid got a little pebble up her nose and they were very worried, calling me that they were trying to get her to sneeze it out or else I would need to take her to the doctors. I trust Little tree to take care of my kids well. I know I wrote a bit of a long essay but I just have a lot of positive things to say about them. Overall, highly recommend sending your kids here! All the teachers at Little Tree are very knowledgeable at what they do, from Ms. Amanda the head teacher to Ms. Bai at the front desk, to Ms. Fang and Ms. Celia in the toddler's classroom, to Ms. Ola and Ms. Christine in the intermediate class, to Ms. Christina and Ms. Saras in the TK class, all of them have spent quality time with Adam and taught him valuable life lessons. My second son Jacob is growing fast and I will definitely consider placing him in Little Tree at Cupertino again for pre-K. All in all I highly recommend this school as the place for little kids to learn and grow!
