My son started here when he still refused bottles, and the teachers were so gentle and patient with him -- they helped him transition to bottle feeding successfully. A big shoutout to Ikbal, who sends us detailed daily reports about baby Leo -- everything from his feedings to nap times and new little milestones. It's so heartwarming to see how carefully she observes and supports his growth. We feel so lucky to have found Actiona Daycare -- it's a place full of love, patience, and joyful learning. Highly recommend to any parents looking for a warm, nurturing environment for their little ones!

My son is now a great bilingual and teaches me English :) In the second year, my son joined Miss Anna's class and learned a lot at the school, including the alphabet and numbers. He also learned to write my own name (sometimes the wrong spell though ;) Not only to Miss Marie and Miss Anna, I also am very grateful to Miss Heather, Miss Katrina, Miss Sarah, Miss Swati, Miss Carlee, and also to Miss Sandy who had to leave due to medical reasons. The classroom is not big, but I think it is enough space for children to get together, read, work, and get along with each other. After Covid-19, Action Day held events for parents such as Holiday Performances, Easter Egg Hunting, Halloween Parade, and Mother's Day Tea Party, which gave me a chance to get to know other parents. Action Day has a hot lunch service, so I ordered pizza every Friday. The hot lunch made it easier for me when I was traveling on business and had difficulty making it by myself. This is my first preschool experience as a parent, so I can't compare it to others, but I am glad I was able to choose a very good preschool.

Jessica (owner) and the other teachers provide a safe, warm, and nurturing environment. Jessica makes healthy home cooked meals- I know my son is well fed while he's there. You can tell that Jessica and the other teachers genuinely love all the kids. I would highly recommend this home daycare.

Jessica Parry, the head teacher and founder, is so passionate about giving each child the best early childhood experience. I don't know where or how she finds energy to go above and beyond for each kid every day to fill their formative years happy memories. She is very good at making children feel loved, seen, and special. Jessica, James, and her staff ensure that each child receives ample attention, especially the infants. She also works with us on specific routines, requests, and will always try to work with parents collaboratively. Jessica and her team are also very knowledgeable about early childhood development. They do a phenomenal job of teaching social skills and early childhood education. My oldest is always excited to tell me all about what he learned and did at school when I pick him up. To top it all off, she's potty training my toddler. It was as easy as sending training pants and then underwear when she felt that he was ready. THCD has truly been beyond anything we could have wished for.

My son has just graduated from this awesome daycare. We miss it so much. I'd love to list its…read morepositives to recommend it to other family with little ones. 1. Catherine uses many methods to help babies adapt. For example, she will make sure only one kid gets admitted at a time; she follows baby's routine of lunch/ nap first. She would emphasize how parents would help too. Most babies adapt within a week, according to our talks. 2. The food there is really nice. Catherine is from northern China and she cooks very good dumplings and noodles. And she makes fruits& veggie smoothie for them everyday. My son grows quite a bit weight there! 3. When things happen, she doesn't rush to make a conclusion, rather she is patient to observe and take actions. Our son had some biting problems when he was one year and half, Catherine carefully observed him for couple of days to make sure if he knew he was biting and biting was bad. And then she took actions and if the solution failed she tried another. She observed that my son really loved reading and asked me to bring some stop biting board book and this was the final killer solution. (-- below is my personal opinion only: What I like about her is that she didn't make things a big deal. She understands these will happen when babies grow. Like fighting over toys, you can definitely stop it by shouting "No", especially when babies are so young. But this only reinforces babies obeying rules. But here my boy learns how to protect his toy. He knows how to ask for help (by crying, of course, he doesn't speak at that time), and how to avoid conflicts by changing the target, and how to stay calm in such situations. I saw a video from Catherine and it's really funny. Every baby has his/ her own strategy I think.) 4. She is very easy to communicate. She listens to your thoughts and adjusts well to bring the best of the baby in a joint effort. 5. She is super caring. We are kinda careless parents because we always wear our boy a bit less than others. And Catherine always reminds us and she has some clothes at home to put on for kids. There was a time that my son got a cold and she bought free range chicken and cooked chicken soup for him specially. We were so moved. I think her style is kinda grandma style with lots of experiences and wisdom in kids. 6. Super good rate! 7. During Covid, kids get tested every week before going to the daycare. My son didn't get sick a lot, he was sick 3 or 4 times being one year and a half there and he recovered pretty soon. Sick policies are nice, not those daycares that will send kids home with just a little runny nose - that could kill all parents. To make the review fair, I will also mention, the cons are - 1. It's not the daycare with best equipment. The toys are old. 2. Portion of free play is a lot. I like it but growing toddlers might get bored - and I definitely know daycares who will do handcraft almost everyday. 3. When it is cold, like in winter, there is no outside play.

Her assistant, Ms. Anna, is also wonderful. The daily schedule includes lots of fun and educational activities including indoor and outdoor play, reading stories, and singing songs. The teachers go above and beyond to meet each child's individual needs and they truly care for the children like family. Both of my kids had different challenges especially when getting used to daycare, and Shirley was always willing to discuss with me and make adjustments to the daycare routine to help ease them in. She is a good communicator in both Mandarin and English, and my kids have been able to pick up Mandarin from her (she even worked with my older child on reading, both English and Chinese characters!!). Shirley has truly gone above and beyond to support our children and our family and we are so grateful! Highly recommend! :)
