My boys did great on their HSPT exam and they enjoyed the course. Not once did they give me "attitude" when class was going to start.

I never knew that the HSPT was so paramount in the direction that an entering freshman would undertake.

It was divine appointment that we found Mr. Test Prep. I…read morealmost never use Yelp anymore to search for anything (sorry, yelp!) but I came on here just to see if there was any SAT prep service that could help my son. He had already sat for the SAT in his 10th grade, and had a decent 1550 score, but we wanted to see if he could improve it. Mr. Test Prep's approach and clear value proposition really stood out to me in the sea of the multitude of tutors and SAT prep services. We gave it a try, our son Ethan loved Michael's style, and format, and it was a good fit for our family's needs all around. Ethan sat for the SAT again in a few months of working with Michael, and his score was perfect. Of course, everyone's mileage may vary. For us , it was a match made in heaven :) Thanks, Michael

Online only tutoring. My understanding is that Mr. Test Prep used to be great when he had kids come…read moreto his home. Now it is entirely online. My son (who actually does well with online learning) did the trial and felt he could do better on his own. I eventually got someone who did in person tutoring. In my experience, a lot of these online classes and tutors benefit the tutor but not the students. If you have a student who does well with online teaching, maybe this is okay. But if you want to pay big money, make sure you get results. For our family, the benefit of taking the SAT over and over was good. But not having any human interaction with the tutor or peers was not good. My son eventually scored a 1570 but with an in person tutor and taking the SAT five times.

The package: NCLEX-RN Complete…read more ------SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE SJ CENTER------ The staff here is super friendly. I'm surprised they started recognizing me by name after only a couple days. I was able to borrow one of their extra course books the first few days of class because mine hadn't come in the mail yet... Kind of wish I'd known at the time, so make sure you pay for your class in full 2-3 weeks before it actually begins so you have enough time to get it in the mail and familiarize yourself with its content and layout. The classrooms are clean but poorly designed for large groups; long tables are arranged in rows, and while students in my class tried to stagger themselves a bit to make it easier to see the board/projector image, it's a good idea to strategically pick your seat to avoid having obstructions in your field of vision. Also, depending on the size of your class, you may or may not have much elbow room. Luckily, the class doesn't require you to bring much to class except maybe your brain, so I didn't need to scatter notes/books about as much as I normally do. That being said, watch your drinks! Space is sort of tight between rows, so there's a good chance someone might accidentally swing their purse/backpack/bag while trying to get past and knock coffee all over your notes. (Didn't happen to me, but I got front-row seats to the show!) Restrooms are also in short supply (2 stalls for women), making break time = standing in line for the bathroom time. Our instructor, Veronica, was friendly and her sense of humor definitely helped to make class as painless as having to sit in class after graduating could be. The center's in downtown so there's no way to get around having to pay for parking. I found the best option to be the lot next to the Diridon Caltrain station for $3/day. Plenty of spots, and it's a nice 5-10 min stroll down San Fernando. ------GENERALLY ABOUT KAPLAN------ Extensive QBank with generally helpful rationales, but some of the questions really seem like a stretch, prompting me to wonder if such obscure questions would really be asked on the actual NCLEX. Some explanations were spotty, and assume that you already know the material. However, there are well over 1500 questions to go through throughout the course of the subscription so you definitely get a good feel for what the NCLEX will be like. No surprises on test day. Content-wise, don't expect to get too much of a review. The Course Review Book supposedly has all the information you need for the exam, but I often had to refer to my Saunders review book to connect the dots and make sense of it. Kaplan definitely focuses on strategy over content, although very rarely did I consciously apply said strategy. Maybe it became innate? The greatest advantage to using Kaplan (for me) is being able to identify what you know and what you need to review by going through a billion practice questions. No matter what, you'll need to put in the time and effort into studying whether you go with Kaplan or another review course. I never had any problems with their 1-800 customer service. They were very gracious in helping me to transfer my course from Chicago to SJ while allowing me to keep my discounted rate. On another occasion (or two...), I fell asleep while taking the QTrainers and they were happy to reset them for me. While I was highly doubtful of my success after taking the NCLEX, Kaplan must be doing something right because I PASSED!!!!!! Money well-spent, if you ask me.

My son was a 10th grader when he joined C2, and I didn't know much about American college…read moreadmissions or SAT prep. The center director was able to help me so much with providing me all the counseling about college applications and other requirements (subject tests, AP exams, COSMOS, Stanford summer camp, etc). My son now is a senior and he got accepted to UCLA and Berkeley. The C2 SAT worked for my son, it helped preparing him with the SAT test content and the teachers there helped him with test taking strategies. After I told the center director I want to have to more updates on what my son does in the center, she emailed me long detailed report of what he does every week with teachers' comments. For learning progress, you just gotta ask. I really appreciate C2 Education, and we spent two years here. It works and it's worth.

A very bad educational center for your kids. It is not a honesty educational center. Don't sign…read moreup for it!!! Don't trust their Ads and promotion! Don't pay for high hour package even it may be cheaper! Once you pay, you have no way to back it out and very little refund for you according to their refund policy. The center changes their staff very often(less than 3 months) that you have no control of their quality. In addition, the center would not provide you online account for you to keep track on your hours. You have no way to check on your hours after couple weeks in their system unless you keep asking the center and end up you be cheated on your hours. It happened to me. Because of referral and C2 education promotion on March 2018, I signed my kids up for 50hrs program(couple thousand dollars) with Christin. This month, C2 changed all their staffs and my promotion credit(new sign up and referral credits) got deleted in their system. I have not able to get the promotion credit back with their new director, Tom and my kids are not comfortable to go to this center for tutoring anymore even I still have 2/3 of 50 hours package remaining. I strongly advise people not to sign up for this C2 center!!! It is a very bad unfaithful tutoring center !!! Here is my advice for the current C2 family due to staff change often in C2: 1) Confirm and use your promotion credit ASAP. The center may delete it without letting you know. New staff will not honor your promotion credit !!! 2) Get hard copy of your hour confirmation! Different new staff will tell you different story. Especially when you cancel the class, ask for confirmation email for your record. 3) Make sure all ads promotion written in your contract. Get hard copy of credit hour as confirmation. 4) The C2 center change tutors often and may hire part time student as tutor. It is very hard for customer to control their tutoring quality. I got feedback from my kid that it is not very helpful depends on subjects. One or two math problems could make you spend two tutoring hours to solve for it. 5) Don't sign up for this C2 center!!! It is a very bad unfaithful tutoring center !!!
