Fish and chips

Man, we had a 12 hour travel day and this hit the spot! It is decorated so nice in an African Safari theme with a modern twist. It's definitely sophisticated in style and they have the most comfortable seating that we truly appreciated. A lot of the tables have couches to sit at. We have been missing good cocktails as we explored Italy and France. So to get the huge menu with tons of options was perfect. They taste amazing. I got a Caesar salad and my husband got fish and chips. Both were delicious. We were greeted with a smile and helped immediately. We highly recommend stopping by!

We came to the Bbar in between touristing all day for lunch. It's a cute, African themed cafe that had plenty of seating available. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The presentation was very nice! My burger was cooked rare which I don't love and was nervous to eat. The taste was good, the fries were good, but don't have much flavor. For dessert we tried the brownie and the honeycomb ice cream. The service was a little disorganized and they forgot our appetizer completely. We waited quite a long time for both servings even though there were just 3 tables there. The wallpaper downstairs - so cool!

Tea & Prosecco

This place is a hidden gem for afternoon tea! The fact that it includes fish and chips was different yet amazing! There was so much food and the Prosecco kept flowing. Everything was fresh and delicious, I'd return a hundred times.

Cute atmosphere and one of the only places open with plenty of available seating on a Saturday night. Food was pretty good. Definitely deserves more hype.

A great find. We were staying next door at Hotel 41 so it was convenient to dine there. We liked it the first day we went so we dined there a second time. Had the African burger made with wild boar and venison. Topped with a quail egg. It looked good and tasted delicious. Wifey had chicken soup that evening. On the second visit I had fish and chips while she had the Parmesan crusted chicken schnitzel. Both were very good. The dark draft beer was worth having. African themed restaurant with pleasant atmosphere.

Virgin Mango Lassi

This was an amazing meal the virgin mango lassi was so wonderful. The person who told us which meal he preferred was very nice and explained all about the making of the of the mushed peas, which were very good. I definitely recommend the Classic Caesar salad with Chicken. I loved this place and recommend it to you

We stopped by for a late lunch today. Although it's a pub, it was excellent! Local beer, good service, and great food! I would highly recommend to anyone in the Buckingham Palace area!

Loved this place! One of the highlights of my trip to London was going here. I didn't know until later that Bbar was associated with the Ruben hotel next-door. Look at the photo of my Gin drink, blueberry, grapefruit and coconut. It was as good as it looks. The service was excellent, the food had Indian spices.

Mussels yum!!!

I got a regular burger, but I wish I had ordered the African burger because it was so flavorful and tender.

The Eggs Royale were perfect! Every bite was gone in under 5 minutes.YUM! Because my eggs were remade, our awesome server, Oliver, took great care of us. Ask for Oliver for a perfectly British experience. I would go back... the little hash browns were toooo easy to eat. I could have eaten a dozen more. Lastly, the ladies room is SENSATIONAL!

The most expensive dinner we had this week with the weakest hospitality and worst timing. SUPER…read moredisappointing. It took 25 mins to place our drink order- then about 30 more mins to get our food, after placing that order. Then we had to wait to place a dessert order. Then we had to wait for the check. One word for this comes to mind...'waiting'. We found ourselves waiting every step of the way for our waiter to acknowledge us. Honestly I can forgive A LOT if people are nice but that wasn't the case with our server. Low energy, not very warm and welcoming and slow. Actually to be fair, I got a smile from the busboy when I was on my way to the restroom- perhaps the 2 should switch roles if the restaurant is looking for repeat visits or nice reviews. Btw- the manager...not exactly sure what he was doing. One last thing, I've had sea bass in many restaurants and never had anyone leave the skin on-Just not what I expected. This restaurant gets 2 thumbs down for me. Go to Bills right around the corner - save some money - and get a smile from the staff and a nice greeting.

I'm not sure on that, it's just something I thought we caught on to before we left and there started to be RESERVED tents going on the tables. We went and had Scotch Egg, Calamari, Arancini, fish & chips and STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. Oh. My. Goodness! First the Scotch Egg. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but it was....ok. It was a little plain. A little tasteless. They could have thrown a few spices into the meat, just a little something. To say that we've made better at home wouldn't be far out. But still good. The calamari was cooked just right. It's what you expect out of a calamari appetizer. Was it the best you'll ever have? Not really. Worth the price? Add it to your appetizer list! The rice balls, which is arancini is, were good. Add a little salt to the top and they were, also, as you'd expect. The fish & chips were exactly as we were hoping when visiting an English Pub for fish & chips. The fish was perfectly cooked, the coating was fabulous, and of course the chips were a perfect compliment to the fish. A great fish & chips experience. The star of the show was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. What a treat! Granted I've nothing to compare it to, this was my first time having it, but whether I've had it before or not THIS was perfection. Perfect texture, the flavour was amazing, the caramel drizzle was perfectly proportioned, and the little bit of ice cream on the side was just perfect. I would go back here simply on this dessert alone. As for the drinks, because, you know, it's a pub....I couldn't say. I don't drink alcohol but my Diet Coke was great! Fresh bottle! ....I suppose I could have gotten a non-alcoholic beer. Wait....did they have non-alcoholic beer there? SOMEONE FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER THERE. The atmosphere was great. I can see how it would be perfect in the evening and on into the night. Very welcoming with a great looking bar.

Came here for pre-theater anniversary dinner with my wife. The ambiance was somewhere between that of a trendy club and nice bar. There was a mad scientist vibe with the lights being industrial vibe and some metal decor. The music was thumpy and loud enough to remind you it was there. It made me feel a bit out-of-place as somebody well past my 20s, but also a bit cool or being there. You really come here for the drinks. We got the pipe dream, smokey old fashioned, honeypot picante, and one other I can't remember the name of, but which came in a flower pot. The pipe dream and smokey old fashioned were likely the best. Overall the drinks were more visually appealing than traditionally good and the visually appealing ones tended to have ingredients that weren't as top shelf and/or they were just too sweet. Not bad, but disappointing for what we'd hope. The food was the opposite. I had low expectations and the food wasn't amazing, but was better than average. We got the bao buns, crispy duck pancakes, panko halloumi, katsu curry, and hot honey pork tacos. They arranged for it all to come out in time for us to make our theater show, which was nice. The bao buns and pork tacos were probably the best. Neither blew me away, but both were solid. The katsu curry and halloumi were standard of what you might expect. The crispy duck pancakes was maybe as advertised, but it would have been nice to have some moistness or substance to the dug vs. it basically being crunchy salty bits of something. Overall, this wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for either. We may be back, but we'll probably try other things first.

The cocktails are all delicious, and live up to their exotic names and creative descriptions. My personal favorite is the Kentucky Gourmand, which is a tasty, peanut-buttery take on a classic Old Fashioned. It isn't too sweet, and still packs a punch, so if you enjoy your whiskey, this bad boy is for you. The menu offers a little something for everyone, and if the stronger drinks aren't your forté, then you might give the Cider Side or Popping Bubbles a try. Even their pickled martini seems to be making the rounds as one of the hottest drinks - no pun intended - on the menu. The food is still, thankfully, amongst the best bar food you'll ever have - if a bit pricey. And, the atmosphere blends swanky bar vibes with fancy living room chic, managing to be comfortable and ritzy, without being pretentious.
