Love Scratch Cookery. This is what a Nashville hot chicken sandwich is supposed to be…read more Unlike a lot of the chains like Dave's where it can basically feel like a chicken tender thrown into a bun, Scratch serves a huge, thick piece of actual chicken breast. The portions are serious, the chicken is juicy, and the breading has a great crunch. What really sets them apart for me is the spice. I've had levels 3, 4, and 5, and they're not simply the same seasoning with progressively more heat. Each level actually has a different pepper profile and flavor. Level 3 brings cayenne and Thai chili, level 4 moves into Thai chili and habanero, and level 5 adds habanero and ghost pepper. You can taste the difference, not just feel more burn. The seasoned fries are great too and they definitely don't skimp on the portions. It is a little pricey for a chicken sandwich and fries, but when you see the size and quality of what you're getting, I think it's worth it. Scratch is easily one of my favorite hot chicken spots.

We ordered the Texas chicken sandwich and chicken strips. Portions were generous, and the sandwich was super tasty. The strips were fresh and flavorful, but be careful with the spice levels! We ordered level 1 and it was flaming hot. Even level 0 has a kick, so I'd recommend going one level lower than you normally would. The curly fries were also great. Overall, a solid 4/5. The only star off was for the spice-level calibration. Great food and portions, and we'll definitely be back!

It's clean and has a lot more space than the truck. Food might take longer because of the demanding service. Fried chicken is always consistent and leaves little room for improvement. First the good, Your favorites are still there and are just as good served across a counter as they were handed down from a food truck window. We split their sliders with Louisiana Rub and fries and loved them as we always have. Secondly, it was a bit slow on this Thursday night. I believe Jojo's Kooser road customers haven't found their new home. Third, some thoughts on the location. It's clean but utilitarian and basic. I'd love to see it get a little soul and perhaps provide more of a nod to the food truck past. Maybe also expand the menu with the larger kitchen? Jojo's still has the sandwiches we love and it will be fun to watch it grow into its new space. (Loved the Jeremiah and Corinthians references too. Appropriately hopeful)

The atmosphere is almost cozily casual, and the service is very friendly. The cashier gave us his recommendations (sorry we declined, but, rather ironically, I don't eat chicken), but everything we ordered was honestly really good. I cannot stop thinking about the Laab-style fried tofu! I actually came back a couple days later to pick up another order because it was so uniquely delicious. The sauces it comes with are also really good. I can also vouch for the sweet-and-sour stir fry, the thai basil tofu, and the mango sticky rice. I'm already excited to come back to try more of the menu. The only criticism I have is that the restaurant seems to be styled for takeout. It is already a small space with limited seating, and when we ordered for dine-in, our food came in takeout containers. I personally didn't like this, because I'm still skittish about eating hot food straight out of plastic. It is a bit of a shame because this food is definitely better fresh--when I ordered the fried tofu as takeout, it had definitely gotten a bit soggy with the trapped steam by the time I got home. Regardless, I can't bear to dock a star because I really just felt happy eating here, and I definitely plan to come back. Food is great, service is great, parking was easy, and it is just lovely all around.

Inside is small with some seating, either little high counter seats or some tables. You order at the register. The are some staff recommendations next to the menu which I highly recommend you try. Parking is plentiful in the plaza. Staff is super friendly and talked me into the steamed banana cake with coconut cream and sago which was an outstanding decision. Onto the food. Chicken wings are fire. Laab, garlic butter, doesn't matter. Both are fried well, packed with flavor, and come with a cilantro aioli and a sweet chili sauce. I personally like the cilantro chili more. Laab fries are good too, but I don't recommend getting the same seasoning as the wings because it'll taste the same. Also, the Laab flavor is like a Thai lemon pepper twist with lemongrass but it's really good. The chicken wings are include that extra part of the whole wing so if you know, you know. The pandan mango sticky rice was good. The rice wasn't as sweet as other places but it has that subtle pandan flavor so really personal preference of you like sweeter or not as sweet rice. Love that they're open until midnight. I'll definitely be back to try more. Go check them out!

Place order up front, find a table and wait for your buzzer to light up. ***FOOD: this time around we got the chicken bites. It was after school and kids wanted a quick snack. The bites came with a mayo based sauce, a slice of white bread and some pickles. The chicken was surprisingly beautifully cooked, it was soft and flavorful. The coating wasn't too thick but still crunchy enough. We got a medium spice level and it wasn't too hot but delicious with a perfect balance. The pickles in my opinion did not go well with the spicy chicken. The mayo helped by providing a nice creamy element though.

You can order via the front or they have some kiosks where you can order. I ended up getting the Dave combo #3 which was a slider/tenders and some fries. They apparently charge extra for dave sauce, if you want more than the little container that they give you which I hate when places charge for extra sauce. It's pre-portioned most likely so give throw in another container. The food came out somewhat quickly and I don't know how but the fries were still a bit cold but had good crisp? The slider was a pretty good size and the tender was pretty huge actually. I got medium spice and I could really only taste the spice once I got into the tender. It gave me a little bit of a head rush from the spice but nothing too crazy. I may come back if I really want some hot chicken but the meal itself was $20 and for lunch, is a bit on the higher side for me.

I've tried all their chicken options, and Hainan is still the winner for me. It pairs so well with their chicken rice and broth. My favorite sauces are definitely the Thai Ginger Soy and Sesame Teriyaki. I also like adding fried tofu once in a while. This one was super crispy on the outside and soft and airy inside. I just wish they offered peanut sauce instead of sweet chili, but it was still good! The regular box is the perfect portion for me, and the fresh ingredients and flavors are exactly why I keep coming back. Their chicken wings, on the other hand, were kinda meh. I got them during a DoorDash promo, so it was still a good deal, but as a big fan of fried bone-in chicken, these didn't really wow me. The batter was super thin and didn't feel fully coated or crispy enough. The meat texture was also a little off, I'm guessing the wings might have been boiled before frying, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'll stick with my regular Hainan box from now on. Still my go-to whenever I'm craving chicken and rice!

They offer combos with Nashville hot sandwiches, tenders, fries, loaded fries, loaded mac, salad bowls, drinks and dessert. I was at Chikin Drip at around 2pm on a Monday. It was near 80*F. I wanted to get there after any lunch rush. You walk in and order at the counter. The friendly young lady took my order, and answered my questions. I ordered the Drip #3 Combo, Mild, $14.99+ Drink $2.99, +tax= $19.91 The food is cooked to order, so I had to wait 5-10 mins. They call your number, and you go up and grab your tray. So no table service. That means you have to bus your tray when you're done. You get pretty good portion size. The Drip #3 Combo had two large tenders on toast, crinkle fries, slaw, secret sauce and pickles. The tenders were juicy and moist. Chikin Drip says they only serve top quality chicken. I could easily cut the tenders with a plastic knife. They were tasty with the dipping sauce. The crinkle fries were hot and fresh. Crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. However, the slaw was not made properly. It was just a scoop of shredded veggies with no dressing at all. Overall, the food was okay. It would of been nice to have an actual salad. The dining room has a very unique and creative look. I'm guessing that's where the word "drip" comes into play. Cool and stylish in form and fashion. Hip hop music plays. Sections of walls are covered with graffiti and murals. Come see it for yourself. BTW, this place has a drive-thru. Tip: Enjoy this food fresh and hot from the kitchen. Fried food has a limited holding time. The crinkle fries will only be good for 5-10 mins. Notes: -free parking -two all-gender restrooms -large outdoor patio w/ tables -no alcohol
