Selection of cookies and sweets
Andrei A.

This is a decent cafe, conveniently located on Yonge Street, with free parking in the back. They have a wide assortment of cookies and pastries. The atmosphere is pretty dark because it's an old building that's pretty narrow, to begin with. You have tables and chairs on the second floor where can you sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with cookies. I found baffling that they have not resumed serving tea in glass cups and pots due to COVID. Like, HELLO! It's July 2023. Besides, the claim that COVID is transmitted on hard surfaces is not backed by science. This myth has been debunked a long time ago. Such decisions that have got absolutely nothing to do with science rub me the wrong way. Drinking tea from a paper cup is gross. I want an authentic experience. Otherwise, what am I paying for? Anyway, I digress. Cookies and sweets are of good quality but at the same time, you can find just as good if not better quality cookies at Papa Bakery, south of Elgin Mills on Yonge. The ladies working there are courteous and friendly. I had a great chat with them. Their baklava disappointed me. It wasn't of high enough quality that I'm used to. Not too many places know how to make proper baklava. I'd rate their baklava at 3/5 in terms of quality and taste. Overall, this place is ok for a business meeting if you need a quiet place to sit down and talk.

How have I not rated this before?! I probably go here at least once a month - it's one of my favourite cafes in town. Located just past Major Mac on Yonge is BB Cafe. Look out for a small house like building right past the traffic light before the pizza pizza plaza going north. They have plenty of customer parking in the back, although the entrance to get in is a bit narrow. Once you get inside you are greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked pastries and desserts. So amazing! They have a great selection of Persian desserts like pastries, roll cakes, cookies etc. They also have fondue and crepes (though I've never tried them). They have seating both upstairs and down, with upstairs being a bit cozier. My favourite thing to get here is the Mille feuille a dessert with cream and pastry layers, but the princess donut cream puff is also really good! And the cookies! Don't forget to order some Persian tea as well! If you're looking a dessert spot, BB Cafe is the place!

Walnuts and fried dates. What a nice omelette. :-)

Cute place. Not rushed. The top floor is where all the seating is. Nice decor. Orange and brown accent walls. Cozy seating. "Fireplace". I ordered an omelette bc it sounded great and it was. Fried dates and walnuts. Mmm. It was in the evening that I ordered this from the breakfast section of the menu, but the cook made it for me gladly. Love that. Crepes are good too and are a bit crispy if that's how you like them- I do. Will be back for sure.

This is truly some of the best ice cream I've had. Period. The pomegranate, the pistachio, and the shining star: the saffron pistachio. I don't really recall the price, but it's not cheap, and totally worth it. I got the saffron pistachio for dessert for my birthday celebration, and it's creamy, delicious. I have no more to say, I haven't been in the store so I can't comment but wow this ice cream. I highly recommend it. And it comes in many sizes so you can try out a bunch. The ingredients feel good for you, and there's no guilt feeling after. Go my friends! And enjoy this eat!!

First time in this Persian cafe. Seems they are quite popular since they have few locations. It was my first time there. All the pastry were in small pieces. So I thought they sold in individual price. When I asked the lady how much is it. She answered me $34. I was shocked cuz I thought she means $34/piece. As I asked her again and she gave me the same answer. I questioned her why, then she told me that they need to weight it after I picked the pieces I want. Could the lady be more specific when you see the customer looked confused? I have to say the cakes are very good. Creamy enough but not over of course if you not eat too much at once.

Wonderful freshly baked deserts! I love the Swiss rolls and the Napoleon (comescream and custard are both fabulous). The deserts are good, but service for dine-I'm customers is extremely slow. The priority is takeout and phone orders. I was quite disappointed the last two times I went there.

This is the 2nd location of the popular BB Cafe in North York. I have so much faith in this cafe as I even recommend my friend to visit even before I have a chance to come here. It is a step up from their Original location. Nicer deco, More spacious and even more seating! Get the Persian Black Tea ($3). The presentation and the cute looking cup and teapot really enhanced my experience! Get the Rollet ($3.50). My Vanilla Pistachio roll was just so good. Get the Saffron and Rosewater Ice Cream ($3.50) to go. Oh so Creamy! OK, just get everything... they even have a whole cake! Free wifi access but seems there are not too many electric outlets on the ground floor. Free parking behind the building, the entrance is just south of the cafe. I will be back!

Macchiato & creme caramel.

Head upstairs! This has to be the coziest coffeeshop I have ever been to :-) This is my first time here. I usually spend my Sundays at Korean coffeeshops but this Sunday I decided to try something different. Something with 4+ stars on Yelp and approved by Elites :-) I will start off with the decor. Its very cozy and welcoming. You will feel like you are at a friend's or a relative's house. Perfect for chatting over coffee and sweets. Washrooms (downstairs) are clean and well maintained. Free WiFi. Now to the sweets. Creme caramel is really tasty and I absolutely recommend it. Cheesecake is thick so make sure you have room for it before ordering it :-) prices are comparable to indie coffeeshops. Free parking area in the back (follow the arrow!) I am surely coming back for more.

Ordered a pistachio pineapple cake and a mocha. I was surprised when I saw the pistachio cake arrived. The portion was so generous. I thought the waitress gave us a quarter of the cake. The presentation of the cake was attractive. There were floral decoration made of white chocolate and there was chocolate drawing on the plate. At the first bite, it didn't taste as sweet as I had imagined. The kore I ate, the sweeter I tasted. Anyhow, I like the pistachio taste and the pineapple was refreshing. The mocha was sweet. I think I have made a mistake. I didn't mean the mocha was not good but I think coffee or black tea may be a better beverage that goes with the pistachio cake. Anyway, I will make a better choice next time. I would want to try other cakes or desserts next tume.

I had a gathering with friends at this cafe. In fact, I found this cafe on Yelp first. There were two stories for this cafe. There were a few small tables on the first floor and also there were two transparent windows displaying the sweets and cakes as well as other treats. On the second floor, there were a few larger tables with a few small tables. I sat on the second floor and I felt it was more cozier to sit on the second floor. I ordered a piece of pistachio pineapple cake and a glass of mocha. I was astonished to see the large piece of pistachio pineapple cake that I had ordered. It looked like I was given a quarter of the cake. The slice of cake was nicely decorated with white chocolate flower on top with pistachio green on the surface of the cake. I could taste the pistachio and the refreshing pineapples inside the cake. The only negative factor I would say is the cake is a bit too sweet. When the cup of Mocha came, I could see the multiple layers of the coffee, white, light brown and dark brown. Again, the presentation was elegant. The waitress gave me sugar on the side in case I need it. It's sweet enough and it tastes delicious. without

We arrived at the small plaza with a small parking lot today (Saturday) around 10:15 a.m. & luckily enough, it was a quiet start to the day as parking was plentiful though I can imagine it being a bit hectic during busy times. This location (there are 2 others) is in the plaza right next to the Richmond Hill location for AI Sushi. As soon as we entered, we were promptly greeted & seated at a nice corner table. Shortly after that, a nice gentleman came to placed a QR code at our table asking if we've been here before. After we said no, he explained to us how to order using the QR code. We can all scan and order individually then it shows up as one large order for the table. I think he said he can split the bill if needed & we would just need to let him know. The place itself was nice. A bit above casual with around 20 tables inside. Well light and seemed clean. I ordered the Thai red curry pasta with clams, hubby and our friend both ordered the chicken and waffles, and my cousin ordered the mushroom benedict. We all ordered a drink (hubby a flat white with the rest ordering some type of latte). Our food came pretty quickly. My pasta was delicious and had good heat (spicy kick) to it & the red curry sauce was full of deep rich flavors. I enjoyed the clams but they were a bit small so it's taste got overpowered by the sauce. I would have preferred it if they gave me fewer but larger clams. I had a taste of my hubby's fried chicken & it was really good. The batter was well seasoned & crispy but not oily and the chicken thigh was moist. The staff know what they are doing there. We were asked whether we are enjoying our food & they always made sure our water glasses were full. I highly recommend this place & am looking forward to my next visit there!

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)
