Madison at BB 63 is a life saver! I had recently decided to try a new salon (since my regular gal got crazy busy over at Lemongrass), so I went to a one-man salon on Magnolia, because he had great reviews! Unfortunately, although the guy was incredibly sweet, I asked him to give me a natural blonde balayage (that would fade well since I can't afford to go every month) and I got super chunky, brassy orange highlights. It looked like I had let my hair grow out for months, even thought I had just left the salon and paid nearly $175 (that included a hair cut as well, which he actually did really well so I can't complain about that). I was going to ask him to fix it, but he kept gushing over how "incredible it was" and how much he loved it, so I felt it would have been really awkward for me to say how much I hated it. So, immediately after I left, I frantically called around to other salons seeing if they could fit me in so late in the day, and most said no. Then I called BB 63, and Madison answered and told me to come in as soon as I could. Long story short, she took what looked like 3 months of new growth with chunky highlights and turned it into EXACTLY what I wanted. Needless to say, she now has a customer for life! read more

BB 63 has several different stylists in a small shop on bluebonnet circle. Making the appointment was relatively easy but I had to make an account online. Who needs more accounts? Not me. I received a text reminder for the appointment. Parking is somewhat limited. If the parking spots are taken, you would just have to park a little further down the road, which isn't so bad. Once I entered, I waited a couple of minutes before my stylist Tiffany met me. I usually don't have specifics in mind when I go for a haircut besides keeping my bangs because I want to trust their expertise. Tiffany seemed boggled by me not having a specific direction. I think because of this, she gave me a very mediocre haircut. There wasn't any flair to it. She also didn't ask me how I wanted my hair styled. Overall she didn't seem very personable or confident in her skills. In the end, I felt that I overpaid for a very basic haircut. Another con was receiving text reminders for appointments I never made several months after the original appointment. I called to let them know, but I continued receiving the texts. After having my hair done for years, 3 to be exact, by a friend in my own home (who had done a wonderful job no less), I decided it was time to grow up. I needed a real salon and a beautician! Scalp massages and sink chairs! I yelped salons in Ft. Worth near me and bb63 has good reviews. It's also pretty close to me house. I check the website and low and behold! Magic! I can get little resumes AND book online for each of the stylists. Fancy. I chose Reya as my beautician as she mentioned she has experience with fine hair. It was like the hair heavens opened up and spoke to me. She was also available evenings! Even better, when I called Reya the day of she could take me earlier than we originally scheduled. My hair looks about 100 times more healthy now that she has cut it. She shaped it, trimmed it but took into account my desire to keep length, gave me a glass of wine, chatted with me, and ensured that I will be a repeat customer. Oh and it was a really good price. I like this salon and LOVE my hairstylist, Leah Verreault! Seriously, before her, I wasn't a ride or die client. I floated around the DFW area anytime I needed a cut or a color and tried whatever place popped up on Groupon or a Yelp search. One day, I posted a plea on Facebook because I wanted to do something drastic...get bangs! A friend suggested Leah and I've never looked back since. I've followed her from her previous salon to BB 63. She's done colors, cuts, styles, curls, eyebrow waxes, and even makeup for me and she always does an amazing job. I get compliments from strangers every time I leave her and for weeks afterward. She's so great about working with me and helping me determine what will look best. There's been a couple of occasions where I've gone in with magazine pictures of colors and she's been honest with me and told me that probably wouldn't work on my hair, but she always has an alternative that I love just as much! The picture I posted was after she cut almost 8 inches off my hair and gave me the cutest bob ever! She didn't rush to get my hair done. She took the time to cut my hair perfectly & the way I wanted it. She also sends out reminder emails that it's about time for me to get a trim/cut. It's not so much that I could have gotten a better hair cut at a "chain-like" salon at a fraction of the cost. It was the fact that nothing was clean & I was the first client of the day. The hairbrushes had tons of hair on them. The stylist dropped a comb on the floor, picked it up and continued to use it. There was hair on the floor. I could go on and on. I couldn't get out of that place quick enough. When I went back to AZ to visit family, I found out my stylist for 30+ years in Arizona recently retired & the new person that was recommended did not compare. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. The hair cut was at least an upgrade to what I had my first time in Texas. Back in Texas, I went to one of the well-known "name brand" salon in the US. At least everything was clean. Yet, once again, the haircut was barely better than the cheap chain stores. I was looking through a "Yellow Pages" app. I started checking the reviews on Yelp and came across BB63. Not only were the reviews good, they were open on Sunday! So, I decided to head on over without getting my hopes up after my last three disastrous hair cuts. This was my first time coming to get my hair done by Cozzette. I have known Cozzette since we were kids...I knew when I arrived she is fulfilling her purpose in life...to make you look hot!!!!!! The salon is super cute...very eceltic. It has a very intimate feel. I was one of the first people there in the morning. I decided to go ombre...and it turned out great. It was the gradual dark to light...the way it should be...not the it looks like you dipped my tips into bleach look that I have been seeing around town. I drive all the way from North Dallas....so if that gives you any indication...make an appointment today!! Cozzette is the only person who can do my hair the way I have envisioned it. I had the most wonderful experience with Leah at BB63. The salon is adorable. It's a small, retro vibe, chicks that look way cooler than you and me, but are so, so nice. This is a lovely, but not pretentious salon. I really like that you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. And with my level of anxiety, this is saying a lot. And Leah, oh my gosh, I can't say enough nice things about her. She's friendly, professional, but not at all stuffy, and she did such a fantastic job on my hair. I moved a year ago and have neglected and impulsively chopped away at the ends of my hair throughout this last year. You would never know it now. Finally, I can stop curling my hair to hide all of the butchering I've done to it. I'm so grateful. She really paid attention to what I wanted and did it perfectly. When it was time to get a haircut, I didn't know where to go. My friends and family would recommend me a place but I always ended having a bad experience. I felt very rushed as she had a friend waiting for me to finish so she could do her hair, and my appointment lasted 20 minutes to wash, cut, layer, dry and curl. She didn't show me the back, hand me a mirror or anything - so I could tell before it was curled and I was sent off. As I got home, I had to shower as I had shampoo/conditioner still in my hair :( updated: as I spent time styling, I realized that this haircut was the worst I've ever had- it's all random lengths (and not in a cute, trendy way) and I've spent more time cutting off the inconsistencies - that I should have just cut it myself! read more

Horrible salon! Madison did my hair I asked for ombré I got orange brassy hair! Even I know ombré starts further down from the root this "licensed stylist" version of an ombré is half an inch from my root! I went back to talk to the salon owner she wasn't available instead I spoke with the shop manager and she contradicted everything that came out her mouth instead made me feel like it was my fault! Never apologize for my hair looking the way it did instead she told me it looks good!!! REALLy??? She back up her stylist instead of trying to make things right with the customer! Incase she doesn't know the customer is her advertisement her billboard the word of mouth that sends customers to the shop to make $$ instead im writing a negative review! i never write reviews (this is actually my first one ever), but deja was so good that i just have to let everyone know. i had gone to another salon and the results were not what i wanted. that combined with my crazy schedule left my hair a dry, frizzy, unkempt, brassy highlighted mess. i walked in feeling so gross. but deja had this incredible intuition about what i wanted. she gave me an amazing color that i LOVE and an easygoing cut that is perfect for my lifestyle. plus she had the warmest personality and we had a great time talking. definitely found my go to salon for when i'm in the area. read more

I chose this salon as a new client because of the reviews on Yelp. I was extremely disappointed. I had the stylist named Sammie. I am brunette and asked for a few face framing highlights to cover some grey hair. She placed about 50! And left them in for about 1:30 while she worked on another client. Several foils slipped and I was left with literal stripes of bleached hair. I was SHOCKED when I looked in the mirror and saw how blonde it was. The scalp massage was the most painful over ever experienced and when she added toner to my hair I was literally left with my head hanging over the shampoo bowl for half an hour. My neck was getting pretty stiff! I have long hair and asked for a trim to clean up the dead ends. She didn't cut any of the ends but instead added a few uneven layers to the back. Then she began to style it. She literally used her scissors to make 3-4 cuts and was done. I also brought my 5 year old daughter for a cut and asked her to trim off several inches. The back of her hair has no shape at all and is completely in even. It looks like my daughter cut her hair herself with her scissors from school. The entire time too 3 hours. It was miserable. I will never ever use this salon again. read more
