I saw the reviews looked so good so I decided to try. It was actually a store/market with a fast-food vibe area. The prices looked reasonable. Environment: a market with a busy corner making and cooking food. Staff: friendly and cooked as quick or as much as they could (they were busy) and made fresh. Food: I got the lamb rack rice plate for $17. The salad was refreshing and the sauce was very good, not too salty. The rice was cooked nicely and delicious. I really liked the texture. The lamb rack was nice and not overly cooked! It had a nice seared flavor and one point down because one part was very burnt so I couldn't eat it unfortunately. However, it was flavorful and good! Also, the bread was out in the open and I just saw people just touching them all. It didn't look too sanitary so I didn't get any to try. read more

I couldn't read the label languages of many products so you know it's legit. The cheese bread was the best purchase. After 30 seconds in the microwave it's unbelievably soft and the dough is subtly sweet. The workers were really friendly to me because I looked very out of place, and I appreciate their guidance. This market is very close to my new place. Ever since my fav schwarma food truck closed ( RIP Cedars) we have been hunting for the right middle eastern pickles. They are so good! Then a man I follow on Facebook shared his yummy looking soup recipe with Baharat, onions, carrots, potatoes, and meatballs made with ground meat and rice in a spicy tomato broth and I knew I had to make an effort to come in here so I could make the soup myself. The parking lot is dicey. The market was busy. It is a little dark. Aisles were marked clearly I found one marked " pickles." Yay! My minion was antsy so I didn't browse as much as I wanted. I found the Baharat, turmeric, and a big jar of pickles. They bake bread in house and i bought a pile of great big flatbread. I have no idea how much they cost. I think there are 6 for $6. Maybe? They are enormous. We ate some tonight with spinach dip and tomorrow we will have some rolled up with hummus, avocado, feta, pickles and salad greens and possibly chicken. My younger minion said the bread is like Lembas, Elvish waybread from Lord of the Rings. " One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man." It is so true! And yes it is a little charred but I think it is supposed to be. We really like it. My middle eastern friend said we should eat it with labneh so we will hafta go back and get some. WARNING EBT USERS !!!!! I'm writing this review to warn others, especially EBT users, about my experience. For two months in a row, my EBT funds were stolen shortly after using my card at this market. I reached out to let them know their terminal might be compromised, but nothing was done and no resolution was offered. After switching to a new EBT card and stopping all shopping at this location, I haven't had a single issue since -- which strongly points to their terminal being the source of the problem. It's incredibly frustrating and upsetting to have essential funds stolen, especially when a business doesn't take proper action after being alerted. I strongly advise any EBT card holders to avoid this store until they address the issue properly and secure their payment systems. read more

I gave personally purchased their amazing, delightful and affordable bread, more times than I can count. ; A good solid 100+ and I can tell you l, it's only been flour scorched a few times. Excellent collection of spices, and definitely a go-to spot for any sort of ingredients for middle-eastern food. The meat section is all the way in the back and gets pretty crowded, with no clear indication of where the line is. Tight aisles, uneven floors, and the lights being completely off in some sections gave kind of a weird vibe, and not everything had clearly marked prices. The staff were friendly and everything I brought home was delicious or at least fun to try - plenty of flavors of chips and candy I had not tried before. Great food adventure spot. read more

Burnt bread hidden in sealed bag. I bought a bag of nan bread that was baked in their bakery. There was a few of bread completely burnt, not edible at all and hidden among a bunch sealed in a bag. This has been one of my favorite places to shop since I found it at least 12 years ago. The spices drew me in at first . Over the years they have expanded and their bread is so delicious and really a great ti have on hand or to take to a potluck. The meat from the butcher is hogh quality and so much less expensive than what you get at Safeway nor even WinCo. This is a Pakistani, Indian and Mediterranean market with a decent selection for the area. One of the first things you'll notice when entering the store is the smell of fresh baked bread. In the very front of the store there is an oven and they're baking fresh bread that tastes great! Make sure you pick some up to take home with you! They also have bread in the back of the store so if you are looking for lavash, pita or other breads check out their selection. Some of it is refrigerated and some is not. As you walk through the store you'll notice that there are a lot of empty spaces on the shelves, but you'll probably find what you need if you're looking for a fairly common item. There were several things I was looking for that I didn't find but I found some substitutions so it worked out fine. I have stopped here several times to pick up some Sadaf spices since they have most of what I would need. Their prices on spices are much better than many of the supermarkets in the area so stock up while you're here. I actually prefer the taste of most of the Sadaf dried spices over many of the brands in Safeway or Fred Meyers. There is a meat counter In the very back of the store and there were several people in line waiting. There is also a small amount of dairy products available. They had large bags of different types of lentils and many types of canned veggies. They also had a large selection of Shan Pakistani spice mixes in boxes. They are pretty good and as good as many Indian spice mixes. I always enjoy checking out the tea selection in any market and picked up a box of black tea. I did wish they had a larger selection of tea because I was looking for black jasmine tea and they didn't have any while I was there. The owner was very friendly and helpful and when I couldn't find what I was looking for he helped me to choose a substitution that worked just as good! read more

Went there yesterday for the first time. Bought a package of Papadum and some beans. Opened up the package when I got home and was instantly hit with an overwhelming stench of something musty and stale. Just nasty off!!! Giving the benefit of the doubt, I went ahead and prepared a couple anyways. It made kitchen smell like a room full of rotten dry goods. I took ONE bite and was so repulsed I threw it all in the garbage.....but not before checking the expiration date on the package. THEY WERE 13 MONTHS PAST THE EXPIRATION DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great store for Arabic groceries! I stopped in here while on a business trip to OR, and was impressed by the variety and quality of ingredients. As some of the more recent reviews mention, the store was fully stocked and had an excellent variety of spices, nuts, pickles, etc. I got some Lebanese olive oil and roasted nuts, a few cans of ful mudammas, and a variety of bread. They seem to make their bread early in the day--it was coming out of the oven at 10:30am when I was there. It's a thicker, fluffier kind of Arabic bread, which is great for eating anything that is saucy or has oil, i.e. the thick bread absorbs oil and doesn't fall apart easily. Also great for sandwiches. They have other Indian and Persian groceries as well. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I checked out this market recently and discovered it carries a lot of the same foods that world market carries and some of the prices here are a little cheaper too. They also have a fresh meat section that has lamb and other meats at reasonable prices. I bought some stuffed grape leaves, fava beans and various indian foods. I'd been to this import market a few times, mostly 8+months ago. I wonder, based on Lee's review in late February and my experience this past weekend, if the store isn't under new management, or went under a significant reset. When I entered, the store was markedly different from my last experience. Previously, a tandoor style baking oven had been in the front section, where they baked bread. Next were long shelves of household items, quite disorderly. Then, shelves of spices, jarred foods, etc. This time, there appears to be a new gas fired baking oven in the front. The shelves are much more orderly, and the household item section is markedly reduced. I found the shelves very full, all the way to the back. The cold section is small, carrying only items you can't find elsewhere. The meat counter was fully stocked and staffed when I was there, and it all looked GREAT. They still have a great frozen section, carrying a variety of things from easy to prepare Indian foods to frozen whole fish. Alas, where they previously offered large rounds of flat, flavorful naan, they now make a thicker triangular form of bread that is mostly tasteless. It was very disappointing. Hence the star off. It's still a great market for meats, spices and jarred foods. Nice, big selection. read more

For a small international food market, this place has everything I needed to create a wide range of mouth watering foods from all over the world. Now I found out they sell milk and jumbo eggs cheaper than TJ's and Freddys! Also they finally have some produce in the mix and they say their gonna have more. Sweet! Staff is helpful and friendly. Flat breads baked fresh throughout the day and the price cannot be beat. Seriously, I've been to Barber World Foods and they sell their naan breads for $1 a slice. Here they sell a pack of 15 huge slices for $6!! Also they have a bunch of different types of rice, grains and flours. Ghee, honey, water essences, euro cookies, and the list goes on. The only draw back is that the place is overstocked, so its slightly difficult to navigate around stacked up boxes filled with inventory. But I guess that's all part of the charm. Parking is kinda hit or miss, but there's ample parking across the street. Although the building looks pretty rough around the edges, its pretty clean on the inside. Overall, it's a great place to find items that are difficult to find else where, affordable and top quality. It beats the other places down the street, for sure. Its worth the trip. read more

I am so glad I found this store. They carry products that I have trouble finding at the main grocery stores. They have very fair prices on tahini, which I use a lot to make hummus and dressings. Try the spiced cracked olives they sell. They are delicious and it's incredibly easy to remove the pit. This place is also great for finding spices used in Indian cooking. I could not find black mustard seeds anywhere else. They are also the only store I've been to in this area that sells black chickpeas (kala chana). I highly recommend this store. read more
