Went in looking for specialty tea herbs and was so surprised to find an absolute treasure trove of cool stuff! Their huge selection is just along the back wall and I don't believe I've ever seen so many herbs I was over the moon about it. They also have a really nice selection of stones and incense and beautiful little wooden boxes and storage containers for all of it. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable when I had questions about their products. They didn't follow me around or chase me down to make sure everything was ok (thank god!), but when I went to the counter they were so helpful about what I had to ask, even providing a lot of tips and general helpful advice. It was clear that they knew what their stuff was! I will be coming back and recommending it as I can! read more

Love love love this place. They have everything you need and more. Prices are fair compared to East Side... which over price and don't weigh out or charge extra per oz. (East side is definitely just looking for profit, Dragon Herbarium is providing quality herbs and good for those who need it) They weigh out here as much as you need and will show you how much a weight you're looking for looks like for whatever you're getting. Very helpful and friendly staff- knowledgeable but also honest. I've not had the chance to meet the owner but from the staffs mentions they seem to be open to helping out and sharing their knowledge with those who need it. All the herbs are easy to find (alphabetical order) and they have great teas and other natural medicinal products as well. High recommend, don't waste your time going to the East side and if you on the East side, trek over here- it's well worth it. ***For anyone reading the "bad reviews"... they aren't bad... most of them are confusing cause they start off very good but those people just decide to give 2 or 1 stars for reason... Or it's based off one experience or one item purchased even though their other experiences were amazing... This place is stunning. Came in for a sage stick and found it immediately by the front door. They sell so many different herbs here. The lady working the front was sooo friendly. This place has a nice selection of herbs and crystals but I didn't have a pleasant experience there. They were busy (meaning there were 5 or 6 other people in the store) but neither employee makes any attempt to make eye contact with anyone except who they're helping, in case someone else has a question or issue. After standing around for 20 min, I finally got to ask my question. I was pretty surprised that not only did they not carry the particular Chinese insense paraphernalia I was looking for, she'd never even seen it before. And then she literally just walked off, and I was like "okay I guess you're done helping me" and I left. Maybe I should've asked the other guy, he looked pretty attentive to his customer he was helping the entire time I was in there. Unless you need bulk herbs, go to New Renaissance in Portland instead. read more

One, staff are very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Two, well rounded selection of stones, crystals, tea, jewelry, tarot cards and loads more stuff. Three, fair pricing. Location is pretty accessible no matter what part of town you're in and worth the drive over if not. This shop packs a lot into a small space. I was interested in tea and their bulk teas are very inexpensive. I'm brewing some now! They have tinctures and extracts too. But they also have a large selection of minerals and crystals in smaller sizes, very bright tie dye clothing, some ikat clothing, various paraphernalia. They have an interesting display of fluorescent minerals. And they join the small odd and unusual museums list for their collection of dragon statues. Another dragon statue museum in Portland? Don't know of any! I needed some teas on my own expert advice and they served me well. All the staff was fine. There are a sub handful of herb shops in Portland metro with this selection. Yikes. Called in this afternoon that I wanted to come in to shop for a few crystals and items for a friends birthday. When I arrived the distainful look from the girl at the door and questioning if I had an appointment immediately put me ill at ease. I explained that I had an just booked an appointment a few minutes ago which she didn't seem to believe, she sort of scowled, said that they were at capacity and walked off. I fancy myself a bit of an alchemist, so when my pantry is shy on newt's knees and toad knuckles I had to make my way to the Herbarium. They have a small selection of apothecary hardware, but I tend to bypass for lower cost options available on Amazon. I didn't try to haggle for lower cost for higher quantity options because, well, I'm a hermit who makes his own Chapstick for fun. Every time I try to roll for charisma my d10 seems loaded and I get a 1 every time. I passed up the selection of crystals in the window just inside the entry way because it's never really been my forte. I put some quartz on a window sill to charge in the super moon of 2013 and, well, let's just say it's still charging. The crystals and minerals are pretty, but only when they don't have 3 years of dust on them. I'm a lazy sorcerer. I'm not going to dust my crystals. I've been to the Dragon Herbarium only a few times. I'm used to randomly appearing on the east side near The Herb Shoppe and would pick up my ingredients there, but when I need a special trip I'll stop by the Herbarium. Since I'm about as lazy an alchemist as I am a sorcerer, my trips are few and far between. The Mugwort is tasty in tea. Decent quality stuff. I've ordered from sources online before to get some pretty poor stuff, so I like to see it in person now before investing. The Arnica Montana flowers are great and potent for oil infusions! Great for those sore muscles from having to move the cauldron off the hearth. It's been a while since I've used the comfrey and calendula but I expect them to be top notch. Since they are one of the few resources on this side of the city, I'll be back for supplies for the next full moon ritual. read more

This place is the nicest and most legit place I have ever been to for metaphysical or mystical shopping. Tarot, herbs in cool jars along the walls, lucid dreaming smokes, incense, and spell books and jewelry. And cool knowledgeable people to help you figure what blend of herbs you need. This is one of my favorite metaphysical shops in the Portland area. I always make it a point to go here when I'm on that part of town. The staff are friendly, helpful and just easy to be around. They don't hover or try to make sales. The shop is beautiful and well stocked. Their crystal prices are hard to beat and the variety is second to none. This is one of my favorite spots in all of Oregon. I've been a regular customer for many years and was shocked that I had not left a review yet! I have more good things to say than they have inventory of awesome stuff! That is A LOT!! They have been tremendously kind and helpful, and also a massive part of my son's independent spiritual growth. A former employee introduced my son to sound healing tools and he is now using this medium as part of his self-regulation/reset routine. It is the only place he feels comfortable enough to be by himself, which has been crucial in his ability to socialize and learn other important life skills. This shop has something for everyone, and no matter how many times you go, you will ALWAYS discover something new and spectacular! A new employee named Corey took time to help my son pick out crystals and could not have been more perfect or professional in their interaction. My first visit today, I was looking all over for mullein for tea, just mullein with no added anything else and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Ordered it on the website for pick up as it's just down the road, the site said they'd send me an email about two hours later when it was ready but someone called within about an hour. This is my favorite herb store in the PDX metro area. It's place I go for my herbs needed in a pinch. Yes, I could order the same herbs wholesale for my store a little cheaper. However, when in a pinch, or needing something right now today, and is close to me, this is the place I go. They have pretty much any herb you could possibly need or want. And if he doesn't have it on the shelves, ask...he has connections! The owner is a wonderful gentleman that is often at the store when I stop by. He is well-versed in the knowledge of herbs, oils, their uses, etc. Knowledge that only comes with years of experience. Yet, he is gracious and doesn't "talk down" to those of us still learning and building our knowledge. They also carry some very hard to find true pure essential oils (not just the fragrance junk!). Prices for everything is really reasonable. They round out their offerings, with supplies, incenses, pipes, stones, etc....a little bit of everything. Whenever I go, even just for a quick ounce of this or that, I always end up spending a lot of time checking everything out or chatting with whoever is working that day. They cram a lot into this little store! Word of warning - everyone is pretty laid back in the store. If you remember the old Atlantis Rising store off SE Stark, or old time Hawthorne/Belmont, you'll love this place. read more

okay I had not been here since I was a teenager in highscool.... I was driving by and said hey that place is still open??? got to check that out!!! I love this store, incense, oils, trinkets galore. The place has not changed a bit. Teas, herbs, books. The place is still the same. some clothes, stones, motar and pestals yep. Great staff, answering all sorts of questions..... yep yep yep. I found an oil that is very hard to find, some incense that did not set off my migraines, a few trinkets.... etc.... I stop here because its next to where I live and sales Kratom. It has a ton of stuff in stock. Best selection I have seen for various herbs. The prices are competitive or slightly more but considering the one stop shop its more then worth it. They have weird hours and I have gone there before to have it locked toward the end of the day (5pm-6pm on a week day). Not really a big deal but annoying. What really gets me is waiting. The people behind the register are ready to chat and chat and chat with customers, which is fine, but I just want to buy and leave. Almost always I enter and wait 15-20 minutes for the conversation they are having with another customer to slow down. Maybe I should interject more but as is I feel bad for interrupting them (not that they make me feel that way) as I feel like I basically have to strong arm my way in by waiting in plain site. read more

They have herbs by the buckets, stones, incense, pipes and bongs, tie dyes (even two long sleeve shirts for Ducks & Beaver fans that were well done), various sized leather pouches, pestle and mortar sets, a book on candle making, earrings I think, white crystals, unusual bumper stickers "pee for enjoyment not for an occupation". Nice people who run it. There is no occult selection that I saw. Aside from that they also have a tattoo parlor in the establishment on the other side behind the counter. My comments? Right on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy so easy to find. 30 minute parking in back that is a little hard to get back out of (tight turn) so if you get a tattoo? I would imagine that you would have to park in front, which I think I would do next time as it just looks easier for a quick get away. It smelled strong of incense which gives me a headache but I seem to have a low tolerance for "fragrance". I did not go for me --- so this is more of an observe and report kind of "review". I am putting 2 stars because I am used to better and that is about it. Doubt I would venture out there again, personally. read more
