READ THIS before taking your car to the Service Department. Let me start by sharing something positive: the Sales Team at Bayway is fantastic. They're professional, friendly, and patient. Although my fiancé and I did not purchase a vehicle (due to the story I shared below), our overall interaction with the sales staff was excellent. Unfortunately, our experience with the Service Department was a different story--and the reason behind this review. I drive a 2014 Chevy Equinox with over 178,000 miles. She's my old faithful, and I plan to drive her until the wheels fall off. A few weeks ago, I had the high-pressure fuel pump replaced because I noticed a strong fuel smell whenever the AC or heat was on. After the replacement, my car began cranking slowly and displayed a "low engine power" warning. I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic for further inspection. After two weeks, several attempted fixes, and lots of back and forth, the issue remained unresolved. That's when I contacted Bayway's Service Department and spoke with Christian. He was helpful over the phone and advised me to get documentation from the previous mechanic outlining what work had been done. I then arranged to have my vehicle towed directly to Bayway. I was there in person and watched the mechanic drive my car to the tow truck--an important detail. When I arrived at Bayway to check the car in with Christian, he asked if it would crank. I confirmed that it had just been driven. We walked out together, and he attempted to start it. It didn't crank right away, so he chose not to try again, saying, "I don't want to drain the battery." The next morning around 8:30 a.m., Christian called with "bad news." He said the car wouldn't start and the mechanic suspected a timing chain issue. To check it, they'd need to open the engine valve cover--for $1,700 just to inspect, with no repairs included. He also floated the possibility that I might need a new engine and even offered to connect me with someone to help me purchase a new car. That raised a red flag. I reminded him I had just seen the car drive the day before. I told him I needed time to consult with my fiancé, and we agreed to follow up shortly. I then returned to the dealership in person with my fiancé on speakerphone to ask more questions. My fiancé wanted to understand whether the diagnosis had started with the most recent repair--the fuel pump. Christian said, "If there was a problem with it, my mechanic would've told me." We then attempted to start the car again, and it now sounded completely different--the engine didn't even turn over. When asked if the battery might be dead, Christian said no. At this point, my fiance and I decided to tow the car out. That evening, we returned to retrieve the vehicle. Just to test it, my fiancé attempted to jump the battery--and the car started. Slowly, but it started and ran smoothly. A service tech (not Christian) was present and encouraged us to give the team another chance to properly diagnose my car. Reluctantly, we agreed. The next morning, Christian called around 7:30 a.m. to say the car was ready for pickup. Upon arrival, we were told that they no longer felt comfortable working on the car and recommended we take it back to the previous mechanic. When we asked why they accepted the vehicle in the first place, Christian said, "We wanted to help." He was visibly nervous--his hands were shaking--and he delivered this message in front of a manager, claiming it was a management decision. We're confident that once they realized we had caught onto their misleading claims--and that we weren't falling for a hard sales pitch--they wanted to backpedal. A few days later, my fiancé identified the problem himself: a single $27 part was causing the low engine power warning. The car now runs better than it has in a long time. Final Thoughts: Trust your instincts. If something feels off, speak up. Ask questions. Don't be afraid to challenge so-called experts. We were told the mechanic at Bayway was "the best," and yet he couldn't even diagnose a drained battery. read more

Russell Bennett has no communication skills whatsoever. This has been literally the worst experience in my life having to deal with this shop. They literally do not care. You ask for a cost breakdown, they do not provide a cost breakdown.. They add the "ADD ONS" into the sticker selling price of the vehicle. I saw the car I wanted to purchase at $25,000, when I sat down to sign my purchase agreement my $25,000 car now became a $33,00.00 car with no explanation.. They want to charge "ADD ONS" for tint, the vehicle had no tint, double charge for Vin Etching, yet it is already listed on their Purchase agreement, wheel locks, yet car had no wheel locks. Danny Garcia was the sales man and Manny Soto was the finance manager. BEWARE of this dealership.. General Manager Tyler told us that they are an addendum dealership. They DO NOT provide an itemization nor disclose to customers what those ADD ONS are. Plus this dealership is NOT even accredited by the BBB. "Better Business Bureau". I bought a car from them in 2020. My credit was good - not excellent, but good. After assuring me that we could get the car for no many down, their financing manager "negotiated" a $2,000 down payment, took our trade-in, and lied to me straight out that it was now mandatory in the industry to apply a 7 year term to financing a new vehicle. I didn't shop around as I should have and feel that I was taken advantage of. We bought another car soon after from somewhere else and the terms were very different. When I asked about the mandate for the 7-year term. I was told there was no "mandate." In the end, we decided to finance through our credit union. If you need to finance a car, no matter how nice the sales team is - go to a credit union. The terms are much better! read more

I took my 2021 suburban for an oil change ; I requested that they check my truck because my tires were wearing uneven, I was told it could be as simple as alignment needed. gave them my warranty information in case I would need a repair that would be related to front end parts . I specifically stated that my issue was only the uneven tires because I was ready to buy new tires. After 2 hrs Mr. Lewis call me and said I needed to have an alignment to fix my tires wearing uneven. He added that he found 2 codes in my truck but he was already taken care of them. No other details given nor he asked for approval for additional charges from me or the extended warranty. We agreed on the price of the alignment and oil change only ! When I picked my vehicle; I found thru the paper work that they charged my extended warrant 2,000 dlls in labor and 230 dlls in parts .. lied to my warranty telling them I brought the truck with engine light on and that I had discussed an AC issue .. ( never mentioned anything about that, and my vehicle didn't have any engine light on! ) They even made the claim to my extended warranty without consulting with me or getting my approval . I was never informed that my truck had HVAC trouble. And I never had an engine light on. I doubt you need 7 hrs ( 1260dlls ) labor for change an actuator of 30 bucks You need 4 hrs ( 666 dlls) to change one injector ( 132 dlls part) After I read all those charges I called Mr. Lewis and asked for explanation.. he told me he found those problems with the scanner ( can an AC problem be found with scanner ?) and his only arguments was that repairs didn't come out of my pocket, that my extender warrant did pay Seem pretty scamming I doubt now if they really change those parts !! Let me start with the service repair 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ (avg yearly mileage 10K....which is excellent)...truthfully I have no issues with the repair or the $3000 bill; however, I believe any dealership/repair shop would have delivered the same end results. Thats Not the issue. The issue is customer service and closed loop communication. I noticed the 2.2 customer rating and said to myself that couldn't be right. Nope it's right..lol 20+ years in the Marine Corps has prepared me for all types of folks and conversations. I have always enjoyed the underlying insults and swipe lefts because assumptions are made based on my REI choice of wardrobe, which is why I'm upfront with my expectations......I shouldn't have to call to update myself or reconfirm authorizing a full repair (especially after informing them of what was needed to be repaired)......here we go again "Well sir this, well sir that ...some people consider a 100 dollars repair a lot a money....WTH!?" As we were trying to buy and trade in our car the whole process took 8 hours which i believe was beyond ridiculous. With us having to be there for an unexpected 8 hours their vending machines were not working. We went in knowing exactly what year and make vehicle that we wanted. As we agreed on the vehicle that we were going to purchase our sales person although i believe she had good intentions she made the process a little confusing when she asked what we wanted to be at for our monthly payments. When we gave her the answer she came back making a big deal that we should of gone with the a different car to get within that payment range. As we sat there thinking and talking to finance we found out that they were trying to raise the price of the vehicle by almost $15,000. As we confronted them and figured out why they were able to fix the problem selling the vehicle the correct sale price without extra charges that we did not want. As we were completing paperwork i told them twice that my email was incorrect, they said they fixed it but did not. So as I am trying to set up payments through the bank because they DID NOT fix my email within the paperwork we are having an extremely difficult time setting up the payments. When we were at other dealerships we did not have this much issues. I don't know what is going on with Bayway. I think they may mean well but they defiantly have their issues that can be avoided. Purchased a truck on Jan 31. During visit, I asked about a sound while braking. The salesperson indicated it was brake pad moisture and would subside. I asked them to take it back into their shop to check it and the mechanic said, after looking a 2nd time, it was just the brake pad moisture. 4 days later check engine light comes on. Took into my local dealership and was told $8.5k in repairs needed that had been an issue for a while, not new (the sound I heard and asked about was the front end differential overhaul $3.4k repair, NOT the brake pad that I asked about on the test drive, and the catalytic converter had major erosion that had been going on for a while). I reached out over 6 times to Bayway over a week and a half to discuss and could not get in touch with anyone. When I did, after having emailing a manager, they indicated there was nothing they could do as they sell their trucks "as is". 2 months of me having to email multiple people, call every department, email higher managers, and calls later to request help in some capacity, back and forth later, the best they could offer was for another $3k, they could replace with used parts. Poor communication. Very little effort to help the situation. Terrible overall experience and would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

I wish I could give bayway chevrolet used department a 0 star. We had came to bayway chevrolet because we had gotten a good feed back from an associates. Of course when it comes to being a new customer and wanting to purchase something a sales person is always nice. That was the case until the after math. My parents and I walked in the place back in January of this year and we had purchased 2 vehicles. Again 2! So of course that helped with meeting there quote and month end. I have to say I have never been so disappointed, more so, than I have been with this dealership. I bought a 2020 Dodge Charger from Bayway Chevy in Pearland on Nov. 25, 2023. I test drove the car around the block from the dealership and I ended up trading my car and buying the car I test drove. Once I did the financing, I did not get any paperwork on the car, he said he would send it or get it to me when my check cleared, as of this date 01-05-2024 I still have no paperwork. I drove home and it was on the drive home that I noticed the car would pull hard to the right when I applied the brakes. When I got home I checked out things that I should have checked out before buying the car, and I was not pleased. The oil did not appear to be changed, it had 60% left on it, it had three different kinds of tires, the right side fog light was flopping around, hanging on by a thread, there was a loud noise (whining) coming from the differential. I called and complained to the sales lady Jennifer, she said she would get with the managers... I never heard from anyone! I have since called several times, left messages, and no calls back. I have not gotten any of my paperwork on the car. I have called the store several times and can never reach the finance person or sales person.. My spouse and I went to the dealership this week for a Chevy Suburban and left the dealership angry and utterly misled! We saw a Chevy Suburban for a great price on the dealerships online website. The only reason we went into the dealership was because MARIO CALLES ("scammer") told us that he would negotiate and gave us the price $67,500. After falling in love with the truck and ready to buy, the sale manager/"scammer" Mario Calles came out with a price that was 20k more than the website price. Bayway Chevrolet would not honor their advertised price! Ridiculous! They let us walk away without even trying to make a deal on their posted price! We had the opportunity to speak to the GM and he listened to our concerns but he did not offer to honor the negotiate price that Mario gave us over the phone. A visit to this dealership was complete waste of time and energy. We would give zero stars if we could. Bay Way Chevrolet posted a response back that I felt was very encouraging and they left a phone number to contact them. I have left numerous messages with them to contact me back and no one ever does. As I read the reviews about Bay Way from other people, I see the same issue that I am having. If you are smart you will avoid this place at all costs. My wife had a fender bender in the fall and we chose Bayway to repair our GMC Yukon XL Denali. We were going through insurance and I wanted it to be repaired correctly. Insurance recommended Caliber collision but I assumed (wrongly) that the dealership would do a better job. Since we live down the street I figured this was a great choice. The repair was supposed to take a week but ended up taking two weeks. This is not the fault of the dealership but of the insurance company due to numerous supplemental payments to the claim. I picked up my vehicle on 12/15/18 and didn't inspect the work. Once I got home I realized the huge gap all along the fender that was replaced, the clock on the radio wouldn't set, the headlights were aimed towards the ground, and the wax job was either done in a hurry or with cheap wax as it had swirls everywhere. I took it back up to the dealership on Monday and they adjusted the hood and reduced the gap. I then left to get gas and noticed that the gap was gone but now the fender was up higher than the hood. There was also a constant rattling noise on the side where the fender was replaced. By this time, I was beyond irritated. I emailed Lincoln Stahl and Larry W. with my concerns and with pictures. I spoke with Lincoln the next day. I took my vehicle back up there on Wednesday and was given a loaner. I then picked it up two days later and noticed when I got home that there was now a gap where the hood meets the windshield but only on the driver's side. I called and reversed the charge for $500 with Citibank as they just can't get it right. I was advised by Citi to get an estimate from another shop on how to repair it right. I took the vehicle to Main street paint and body and once they raised the hood they pulled the screwdriver out that was left between the fender and the engine. I took the screwdriver back to the dealership and explained this was left in my engine compartment. The rattling problem was now solved. It took me five minutes on Youtube to figure out how to set the clock even though their service department couldn't figure it out in two days. Now we get to the fun part. My vehicle is black on black. When I received it back after the two days on the back of the keytag White SOB was written on it. When I inquired about this I received a very rude email from the owner stating that it was intended to mean white suburban. His email ended with WOW just WOW! The person at the dealership responding to the Citibank dispute is named Stephen McKnight. Citibank recommended that I go speak to him in person and try to resolve the matter. I went up to the dealership Tuesday afternoon at 1:15pm. Mr. McKnight was nowhere to be found. There was one customer in the lobby and 10-12 salespeople sitting at desks. Dusty soon disappeared to go find Stephen. I stood there until 2:00 and then requested to see Dusty again. He then told me that Stephen was at Lunch. I called when I left the dealership and left a voicemail. I then left another voicemail on Wednesday morning and Wednesday afternoon. I have yet to receive a return phone call. I have plenty of pictures and emails if anyone cares to see them. Save the headache and spend your money elsewhere. read more

I needed a part for the luggage rack of my Tahoe and this was the closest dealership to me as I was driving. Upon entering, Beau was clearly busy with another order and the phone. He took the time to let me know he would be with me in just a minute. Then when free he came to help. He walked with me to my car to see what I needed. Okay so they keep putting videos on facebook about the great deals on the new Malibu so I decided to call them and ask about the deals they confirm that the car was still available on the internet shows $26,695 msrp with a discount of 7,000 bay way discount so it comes out to $19,695 is a great deal that was the main reason I call got to talk to Jamie McKinley I was really honest with her told her that I was interested because it was such a great deal that you can not pass and ask her few questions one was are they anything added to the window sticker price and she was half way honest she said no but All bay way cars o trucks that are sold get a bay way protection package that includes paint protection,tint and few more things ( if you know this industry all dealership do things like that some puts bed liners , tint or steps things like that is a way to make between $1000 to $5000 and is normal ) but she couldn't get my a final number on that package so I was like is fine but then I ask her about the 1.9 APR that it shows on there website and she told me that she believes that it was only on the 1500 trucks not on the Malibus so I ask her what was they average APR right going through GM financial and she said on the lowest a 6.9 and on the highest 17.1 I was like wow okay but she said we used different banks and you can get between 5.9 and 8.9 then I said okay let me think about it but do me a huge favor please send me an offer with the final numbers before tax and title I may go with mine community bank and by this time we already texting she told me that she was going to get dose numbers from her manager few minutes later I received the call from Mr Roger Lizama he was really honest and told me the difference options on the APR and I explained to him that in February on this year I purchased a new Lincoln Navigator and was available to get 3.9 APR through Lincoln financial and back then I did the same I Check with my community bank and they were offering 4.9 and he explained to me that the lowest that they doing right now was 5.9 so I told him that let me check with my bank and I will get back with him and he said no problem I will send the numbers of the price before tax and title I said thank you. Later that evening I received a text from Jamie saying I talk to my manager and they said that they can do the 1.9 APR on the Malibu and I answered great so I will stop by tomorrow by 12 few minutes later I get another text from her saying o but if you go with the the GM financial you will not get the discounts it was at that moment I start feeling like there is something here that those make sense but I told her okay but please just send me the numbers before tax and title and I even said is late I don't need them right now tomorrow morning it works with me then I received a phone call next morning at 9 am and left a voicemail saying this is Raphael I saw that you have and appointment today at 12 so I text Jaime and told her that I was not going to go the dealership till I got my offer because I was still going to check on my bank and she replied okay let me tell them and I get back with you then the day goes by then I received a text from Mr Roger asking me about if she ever sent me the offer and I replied no and explained to him everything and even sent him screenshots of the conversation and he replied let me find out what happened and I will send you those numbers and guess what is Monday and I have not got the numbers ‍ . I feel like if I don't used the bank that they used I will not get any help or answers is a shame the worst thing is like they don't want to used Gm financial I have got 3 different trucks finance through GM financial all payoff on my pass so I know how they work such a shame because I have my house in Pearland I was trying to do business in the hometown dealer but I guess they prefer to lose business because you're not using their banks .. STAY AWAY FROM BAYWAY CHEVY !! They are scammers! Fat lazy and don't give a fuck. I'm telling ya I had many cars! I never experienced such bad customer service! Its unbelievable how they can violate my buyer rights! I wouldn't recommend this place , read these reviews and believe it! I always read reviews and I forgot to do so!
