I've taken both Yin and Gentle Yoga here from husband and wife team Linda and Howard. The two of them combined have over 40 years of yoga instruction experience. If you don't know much about different yoga types, yin is about longer held postures that will target joints, connective tissue, and meridians, while Gentle Yoga is about medium-length deep stretches and working on the breath. The classes were great; as I sit in front of a computer all day, yoga is necessary to stretch out the many kinks and tight areas. Both teachers were easy to follow and are good about checking students for proper posture and positions. They also teach Hatha and Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow. If you are new to yoga or a veteran yogi, you'll enjoy the atmosphere and the classes here. I've heard great things about the Level 1 Taiji/QiGong Movement and Self Healing classes as well, taught here by Geoff on Saturday mornings, a local integrative counselor. I just haven't taken them yet to comment, but wanted to mention them for anyone interested in this type of movement and healing modality. Namaste!

There's truly nothing better than a yoga class at Sky and taking in that gorgeous view of the lake, no matter the season. I came to Sky 3 years ago petrified that I'd make a total embarrassment of myself as I had never attempted yoga, but they were so helpful and welcoming that I instantly fell in love with yoga, and despite all of the studios around the country I've now frequented, Sky will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart. Their instructors are absolutely amazing; Courtney weaves her passion and love for the business into every thing she does, it's palpable. The community of classmates are always so friendly and warm; it's the closest thing I presently have to my own little community and I always look forward to connecting with them. There's always something new and fresh to look forward to in addition to the perfect weekly schedule which is created to have something for everyone of any skill level. Presently during COVID they have a really great system in place for streaming, special classes and more, though I'll always prefer the in-studio experience (which is open and very clean!) I can't wait until Covid passes and we can go back to the full classes full of love and light, I look forward to the little things they do to make every class special (essential oils, lighting, amazing music). Sky is so incredible that they're worth a special trip to Skaneateles, but especially if you're in the area, on vacation, or on the lake, stop in for a soul-changing experience!

If you're not into being pushed and challenged then don't go. The Instructor is great at making sure you are in the correct positions while continuing to urge the other students to continue holding the pose. And boy, when they say hot, they mean HOT! We'll be 2 poses in and I'll already be sweating!! I didn't know you're knee caps could sweat! The first class I went to was tough. I was exhausted when I got home. But this second class was great. I did better in some of the poses and felt really confident when I left. Even if you have a image issue, do yourself a favor and invest in yoga shorts and light tank top. You'll thank me later. I don't know how people wear capris in there... its just too hot. The other students are all very friendly and super encouraging. The first class is tough, but it's worth it! I can't wait to go back on Wednesday!

Unfortunately our assisted living person comes Mon & Thurs, the opposite of Laura's schedule. At a loss, I called her anyway to see if she knew of any other yoga studios that might have class on Monday. She was extremely personable, and understanding, and gave me multiple suggestions. Staff make big deals out of small situations 1) the hot yoga is unbearable if u sit under the vent because she doesn't have directional vents in place. 2) tried to see why my partner couldn't access his account online and the Owner refused to help me......they had no problem when I set up our accounts and when i used his credit cards 3) owner seems unwilling to hear any type of constructive critism and even posted her belief on her FB page about not begging for acceptance from people isn't good.....listen to your client isn't begging it's called having interpersonal skills. 4) wouldn't let me come in class because they were centering but I had been in many classes the instructors were laughing during practice. The class rooms are often over packed and the parking is very limited and near impossible at times. No day time hours either D-
