best margarita I have had on the island. The bar is a pretty big size. It's located on the second floor looking at the marina. Today was our first dining experience. We all enjoyed our lunches. The portion were generous. My husbands brother got the French dip and a bowl of their seafood chowder. He said the soup was excellent. Our friend got the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque and he said it was delicious! Husband ordered the Rockfish and he said it reminded him of walleye in the winter. He loved it! Glad to hear since we caught 4 nice size ones to bring back home. I ordered the chicken, bacon and blue salad and it was also very good. We really enjoyed our stop at the Bayview Pub in Sitka. If you are looking for a hot chowder and a cold beer, this is a perfect place to stop. Service was quick and friendly and I was seated right away while waiting for my friends. I enjoyed an Alaskan White on draft while I perused the menu. I also noticed the plates of food being enjoyed by the other guests were generous portions. Bartender and servers were attentive and helpful. Even though it was busy while we were there, we appreciated how multiple servers stopped by to check in and keep the drinks flowing for us. Fun place to stop, when in Sitka, I am going to sit here for a while again and enjoy the beers and bites at Bayview. read more

This was a nice spot for lunch and a beer. I had my favorite Alaskan brews here; a blonde ale and a lager called brewer's reserve. We shared a blackened rockfish sandwich and fries and I also ordered seafood stew. I wasn't crazy about the seafood stew. It was lacking seafood in my opinion and just wasn't my preference for flavor. The sandwich was really good. The fish was tender and flaky with just the right amount of seasoning and their signature dish sauce was quite good. The fries were actually really good and I don't normally care for fries. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but the sandwich was plenty large enough to share. With friendly service, a good beer selection, and tasty food I recommend hitting up this spot. read more

Not sure why this place only has 4-stars, I have been to 5-star steak houses that couldn't even produce a perfectly cooked steak in SF, LA, and SD, but I find this pub on a remote island in Alaska that dishes out a Masterpiece burger? I had the Waygu beef burger cooked med.rare, as it should be. My wife had hers cooked medium, I'm not judging her . Let me tell you they were both cooked to absolute perfection!!! Hats off to the Chef for sure. You may or may not know I was sent an invite to participate in Masterchef, definitely wouldn't want to go up against this guy, who ever he is. I am here on a stopover from the cruise ship and...this place...this place makes me want to live here. We ordered naked wings (with sauce on the side) and the "upstairs" burger with blue cheese and bacon + fries. I am not a huge fan of fries--especially hand-cut fries--but these hit the spot today. They are not overly seasoned nor are they limp--they're basically the right crispness and the right saltiness. The burger was good enough--nothing to write home about but also satisfactory. We each had two different types of beer. For being a small place in a mostly tourist town, this place has A LOT of beers on tap--and many of them local. Damn good. But the real reason for this review (and the five stars at that)--the wings. Holy buckets. These are literally the best wings I have ever had in my life. A standard order comes with them dressed--but I think that is a terrible idea... Naked wings means that you get to taste the SPECTACULAR seasoning. Like *write home about this seasoning* seasoning. Like *I am looking at flights and hoping that the chef will host a cooking class that I can gift to my best friend for the best gift ever* seasoning. After receiving less than acceptable service at a nearby establishment (Mean Queen) we left and walked down to the Bayview Pub. The wait staff was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. The food was great as well. I had the Upside burger with an onion bun. My wife had the Skirt Steak with baked potato and salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. The food was great, the wait staff was great. Next time I'm in Sitka there's no doubt where I'll be dining. Two thumbs up!! read more

I've lived in Sitka for about two weeks now and have gotten to try most of the local eateries. This by far has been my favorite! The staff are all super sweet and helpful. The prices seem fair for the quality of freshness, wait staff, and the (weather permitting) stunning views from the bay seating area. I will definitely be a regular here. read more

Nice setting overlooking the bay. Nice beer list. Calamari was good. Caesar salad with rockfish was ok. Seafood chowder had no discernible seafood. Kind of closely spaced tables and none of the waiters wearing masks. I would normally rate this place 3-4 stars but the carelessness regarding table distance and lack of masking of staff would make me not want to return especially when COVID numbers are rising quickly in Sitka. read more

Welcome to January and Whole30 - No dairy, grains, legumes or sugar, so travel typically means grocery stores only. I was so happy to see a menu item I could eat without sounding like a crazy person asking for subs or modifications. Also the rockfish used rice flour I believe which worked for another person's dietary restrictions. I was eyeing the fries with envy and hope for future visits. This place rocks -- if you are looking for fun, casual, legit bar food. Which, we were! This was a regular stop for us this summer as we had the Juneau-Sitka/rinse/repeat run for the luxury charter yacht we were crewing. I have told EACH of our guests that have disembarked in Sitka that the wings are go DIE for. I mean, smoke them first, then fry them naked, serve with choice of sauce on the side? Who DOES that. These guys do. And, they are awesome. We "graduated" over the season from eating them as an app to ordering larger portions as a dinner. So, yum. Their burgers are terrific, too, although I'm not a fan of the elk burger. That there are a host of games to play is awesome, too. Pool, darts, foosball, ring game...all kept us playing and eating. Matt is a tremendous bartender/server, too. He remembered us and had my wine on the table almost before I even sat down. Season may be over for us, but we'll be back next time we are in Sitka! read more

Great find in small Sitka. I'd go here if I come back! It's expensive, but well worth it. We were greeted immediately by Staff. I was lucky to be able to order the seasonal spruce tip Ale! If it's on tap, get it! My husband had a burger, nothing too out of the ordinary but it was what he wanted. I chose the sandwich and soup special, grilled cheese and a sea food chowder. It was excellent. Some places really know how to make a grilled cheese sandwich and this is one of them! We went for our grown son's birthday dinner. The space was nice. Quiet enough over by the bar. The servers were fantastic. This is one of the few places in Sitka that stays open all year. We know, we ate here when we were in Sitka in Nov '15. Came back in August, '16 and the place was hopping. The new owners have done a great job with the place. Lot's of good comfort food on the menu. Prices are about normal for Sitka. read more

Nice beer selection, food is served on stainless steel dishes/bowls that give a surreal prison feel to the experience. Super greasy fries which don't do the digestive track any favors. The main reason we came here is because this was virtually the only place we could the NBA finals game. The service was good, it was his first day working, but he was knowledgable and nice. In our group we got the Wade Burger, The Pub burger with brisket, and my brother in law got the fish n chips. I was not overly impressed with the food. The wade had a good taste but was too dry. Rude bartender waiting tables sends this review to three stars. From start to finish this guy seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. It felt like he was doing a favor serving us. We got the check and noticed that our burgers were $28, plus $5 for Bore Bacon. On the menu it was called the Bore Bacon Burger and specifically said it had Bore Bacon on it. When we questioned the $5 charge he said I asked you if you wanted to add bore bacon (which he did), but no one really thought much of the question - like maybe some people don't like it? My husband asked to see the menu and he said I know what the menu says but it is a misprint that is why I asked you if you want Bore Bacon. Misprint - then why didn't you say that when we were ordering! My husband held him to the printed menu and had to refuse to pay it before the server begrudgingly took off our $10 worth of bacon (2 burgers we ordered). read more
