Had a nice experience at Bayview. We were greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. There was only one waitress/server and she was attentive to all the guests. The food is made fresh to order so there was a little wait but the food is good so no complaints. The drinks, and music kept us occupied until our meals came. Overall we had a good time.

Omg I'm so glad I tried this place and I cannot wait to go back. The service , the music , the food , the drinks all 10000/10. The oxtail egg rolls were so tasty with the oxtail gravy dipping sauce. The jerk chicken wrap is humongous , they weren't stingy with the chicken. The jerk chicken Philly was also to die for. We had the rum punch & the passion fruit drink both delicious. This place really takes good food seriously and the music will have you dancing in your seat. I will be back. Ask for Leah we loved her amazing service !!

Met up with my friend from Westchester County to catch up and to stuff our bellies. But instead we were not offered a table to sit even though there were 4 available tables. First we was told the vacant 3 tables was reserved for bigger groups (I could understand that but if you have paying customers why not offer the table) Then a couple got up and moved to the bar area, but we was told we couldn't sit at the table because the kitchen was behind with orders and we would have a long wait time, but why could we not sit and wait for our order? We were asked to come back later instead of sitting and waiting. The waiter was friendly. I do not picture going back after this experience - We will find another location to eat, if a restaurant doesn't want our money I'm not going to beg to spend it there. Very disappointing experience.

Fish and grits

Food- 4/5 -broiled salmon in scampi sauce with grits. 0/5 - fish tasted very fishy - I would NOT recommend !! -The I love Cado Toast 4/5 - DELICIOUS and I highly recommend it and would get it again. -The fried whiting and grits 4/5 - delicious and would get that again as well. Fish fried hard like I like it! -The pancake platter 4/5- eggs looked like they were liquid and not fresh. Pancakes tasted delicious and the turkey bacon was good turkey bacon. The blueberries yum, strawberries, meh Drank water -the juices weren't freshly made, they were bottled yet the mocktails still sounded like decent mixes I was looking forward to the nachos, yet we were given a brunch and breakfast pre-fixe menu without them as an option, despite the website saying the menu is served ALL DAY... not sure. Service- 2/5 Unfortunately, the service was lacking. It was slow, the woman who served us on Sunday AM started out ok and once I said I didn't like the salmon and if I could change it (which is how I got the whiting), she appeared to get an attitude. For what, I have no idea. ‍ I told her the fish tasted fishy and she asked what that meant... maybe she doesn't eat fish, but when in doubt, esp with fish, Better safe than sorry!! We saw her again when she dropped the food and never checked to see if it was ok. Then we gave the young man our card to pay and she stormed over and asked if we were splitting the check with a card we never saw before... we still gave a 10% tip. That could've and should've gone a lot better. Ambiance- 3.5/5 The door hours say Sun 8- and the website says Sun 11- so I have ?s but didn't feel comfortable to ask after the service or lack there of, received. Seated in the corner facing a wall when there were several other decent seats open bc it wasn't crowded at all upon arrival. Overall 1 thumb up and would return for the food... maybe sit at the bar. Didn't go to party just to eat and the food was worth it so I would recommend. When you call people family, treat'm a little better Hopefully, a better encounter with staff next time

Shame on me for not coming here sooner. I was here on Saturday and it was excellent. I got the Fried Chicken thigh on Coco bread with Honey Sirraccha. I think it was called the Chicken Sanny. Sooooo good. I also got a Ginger Beer. Delicious but $5? A little pricey for Ginger, sugar and water but hey! I get it. You gotta make money. I had a really hard time deciding what to get but I'll be back to try some of the other items. All of the items everyone else got looked very delicious too and they confirmed it, with the exception of the waffles and pancakes. But who goes to a Jamaican restaurant and orders waffles or pancakes?! I was with a big group and the only thing was that it was really hot and really loud. Our server, Vicky was awesome and patient with our large group. I will be back and highly recommend.

I went here for brunch with my son and parents for a spur of the moment brunch plan and boy am I glad we found this place! We walked in to an unassuming space, the parking lot looked industrial almost, but we went in and were greeted by a bunch of friendly faces. We were seated immediately and given menus. I ordered the waffles with jerk shrimp (weird but trust), I got pancakes and eggs for my son, my stepdad got the buffalo wrap, and my mum got an omelette. When I tell you there weren't any crumbs left on any of the plates!!!!!!! The best bite I had was the jerk shrimp - UNBELIEVABLE!!!! And the pancakes were - and I quote "the best I've had in my life" - that's a serious statement from a 70 year old man. The wait staff was SO incredibly sweet to my son, and he absolutely loved chatting with them and playing around! I'm 100% going to come back and try the other items on the menu!

Shoutout to Vicky!!! She tried so hard to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The waiters who where supporting were also really great. I came with a very large group, 16 people. We made a reservation and they seated us. They took our orders 4 people at a time and our food came out 4 meals at a time. If it is important to you for everyone in your group to eat the same time don't come here with a large group. They have a DJ for brunch so the atmosphere is loud, fun and livily. I had the fish and waffles. The fish was amazing. The waffle was just okay. The mac and cheese was okay. The drinks were the highlight of the meal. I had the mimosa that had tequila in it and it was really good. I ordered the pitcher size. It was strong and not watered down.

I love it here. Brunch so goooood. Ugh, 10/10. The fish with the jerk sauce and the grits?! Fire. Super filling. I love how brunch is 40$ and comes with a mimosa and it's not a champagne glass it's bigger. The option of an app and then the entree. The porridge is really good as well. Sorrel bbq is a great flavor for the wings. When you have a party have everyone there or you won't be seated. The dj was good and overall a great vibe.

It's been a few years since I've written a Yelp review, but I felt compelled to share this one because the breakfast was that good. I recently moved to Long Island and while there's so much great food here, the options are definitely different from what I was used to back in Pasadena, California. I saw the positive reviews for BVK and decided to stop by since it was on my route -- and I'm so glad I did. The food is amazing. Honestly, the picture doesn't do it justice; it tasted even better than it looked. The service was warm and welcoming, and Leah was especially kind. Definitely coming back!

This place is a gem. Had dinner recently. I have been here before. Not sure why this place got bad reviews. Some people suck. The staff absolutely amazing and attentive. The food delicious and fresh. Don't listen to the negative reviews. It's a great date night spot with spectacular views on the water, good food and amazing service

Fish and grits

I'll start with the good. The food is absolutely delicious, period! The fish and grits were a 10/10. However, the portion of grits was very small, which left me hungry. My husband ordered the French toast, and it was perfect. Unfortunately we didn't eat until about 45 minutes after being seated. Now, the reason for the three-star rating. I really tried to see the good in this place and exercised a lot of patience, but the service put a damper on the experience. From the moment we walked in, it was clear they were disorganized. There was no hostess, so all three staff members working the floor asked if we had been helped. The 20-minute wait was fine, but once we were seated, service continued to struggle. It took about 15 minutes before we even received menus, and we noticed the same happening to other tables. Our waitress only took drink orders about 25 minutes in, and by that point, we were starving. I understand it was busy, but guests should be able to order food when they're ready. We ordered a pitcher of Marcus Garvey (half iced tea half lemonade) which was definitely a premix and overly sweet. When the drink pitcher arrived, we struggled to pour it because of the fruit and mint blocking the spout. Actually, the waitress tried to pour it first and couldn't but offered us no solution lol!! That's when we realized we didn't have cutlery (we had been seated nearly 30 minutes now) and had to maneuver the contents just to get an effective pour. When we got the cutlery it came on a plate with a single napkin for us to share. These little inconveniences added up. I think they need another server or a hostess, and some staff training. Everyone was very pleasant and seemed to be working hard, but they were all doing the same tasks and repeatedly asking us the same questions.

Sriracha honey wings

Food Service Taste My first time visiting and it didn't disappoint! The salmon was cooked to perfection! The jerk chicken was flavorful and the wings were delicious! Service was great I think I found my new favorite spot for authentic flavorful meals!

Cozy Brunch Spot with Decadent Treats!…read more I stopped by Brownstones with a friend and we were blown away by the flavors and portions! The mocha latte and chai egg nog latte were perfectly spiced and rich - loved the festive twist on the classic latte. Food-wise, everything was a winner. The Nutella crepes were indulgent and chocolatey, the chocolate chip pancakes were a chocolate lover's dream, and the original pancakes topped with fresh fruit were absolute perfection. Speaking of which, the pancake stacks are SERIOUS - we ended up sharing and still left satisfied. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was inviting. Definitely a spot I'll return to for brunch treats and girl time with friends like Mayra and Mia!

I also like their sandwiches like BLT, and also Avocado toast. They also have seasonal dishes which you should definitely try! This time, I tried their seasonal french toast bites which was a peanut butter and chocolate French toast bites, and was delicious! The portion is big so it's definitely sharable. This brunch place gets pretty crowded and they don't take reservations so I would recommend you going in the morning when there is less crowds.
