My Primary Care Physician had opined that the rotator cuff might be the problem, and that cortisone might help. Within hours of the procedure, the pain was gone! Yesterday, on March 29, 2026, while visiting my wife in her hospital room, I leapt from my chair to prevent (successfully) a table from falling over and caused excruciating pain in that shoulder. My phone call to N.E. Orthopedics today confirmed my suspicion that it was too soon for a follow-up shot, but I was dismayed to hear that their company might not want me to return. Frankly, I was so shocked to learn that information that I merely hung up without seeking an explanation.

Emma stated it could not reschedule my appointment. I asked to speak to a human. Was told there is a ten minute wait. Fine. Emma immediately proceeded to repeat the office is closed (it was 10 AM on a Tuesday). "You can hang up now." I went to the office today to try to reschedule and was informed I have to CALL to do that. I proceeded to describe my experience from the previous day and suggested maybe they should contact IT or the AI provider because the system obviously is not working properly. My suggestion was met with indifference. And she repeated the only way to reschedule was to call. I was simply trying to reschedule but also help. I hope AI Emma doesn't eventually replace the indifferent human with whom I spoke. The confidence in AI Emma's voice when she said, "you can hang up now" was unprecedented. I am leery of what to expect if I follow through with my referral.

The staff goes from awful to even worse…read more I've had problems with my replaced hip hurting more than the hip that's waiting for surgery - 10 months out from surgery! They did an x-ray to see if it's infected - it's not - and i received NO further help or advice after that. I tried for over a month to schedule a pre-surgery appointment with my doctor. I called repeatedly - they never answer the phone, it's always a bad time for them - and left a whole list of dates that i can be there, dates when the doctor confirmed he is at the office. I asked them to pick an open date and time and assign me an appointment to avoid more phone tag. No go. All i got was another empty call telling me to call them. I called and called. No appointment, just the same message to call them every time. I wrote to my doctor and he confirmed that he has time he can fit me in on some of the dates i offered for an appointment. I called the scheduling line back again and told them that the doc says he can see me on one of these Tuesdays - and still nothing. I decided to leave after being treated rudely and neglectfully by staff on a repeated basis. I was given false information about the costs of my surgery, then ignored when i complained. I complained about the staff being racist, rude and neglectful, and i was ignored. During the pre-surgery interview, the PA was beyond rude and blatantly hateful - she refused to answer ANY of my questions or concerns about the surgery, she would only robotically read off the questionnaire i had just filled out and ask me to repeat my answers. Then she walked out without answering any of my questions. It goes on like that. I requested my medical records and this idiot on the phone was telling me that my ID number can be fake, but somehow a photo cannot??!! What century is that person living in? Meanwhile, the ID number and personal details on your ID are what can be verified. They refused to give their name, then hung up on me. Folks, you have a legal right to your medical records, so long as you pay the fee. Refusal to surrender records is an act of illegal non-compliance. I called the main office to speak to the Client Relations person, Kerry ( i guess, no one spells names there). After 20 minutes of being on hold, i was transferred to an answering machine. I've tried that route before and only received an empty letter that resolved nothing - after about a month - and then no response when i called to talk about that letter. This is their routine.

When I asked Dr. Brooks about it, his response was, " You have to end somewhere". Worse, I had to go to the office at least 3 times a week afterwards, to get the liquid drained from my stomach. It was incredibly uncomfortable. He finally said that he'd have to put drains back in, I said, back in? Drains? He looked at his notes and said," I forgot to put drains in" !!!! This was the first I was hearing about any drains!!! I was being prodded, invaded by him getting the liquid out of my stomach 3 times a week, when I didn't have to, because, he, "forgot"? I see that there are a lot of not so good reviews for this place but my experience here was great…read moreand even in the past, was great. I have been here a handful of times for my children. For me it's a hike. It's about 1 hour away. But this place by far exceeds Harrington Hospital in Southbridge Ma. Upon entering the building was noticeably very clean for such a busy public place. I couldn't believe my eyes. The staff here is friendly and they made a great team. Upon entering the Children's ER everyone that came in to help out our boy was amazing at listening to what we had to say. They all communicated well. They worked together great as a team. They were much faster than I've ever seen in any ER. They actually had empathy for my child and worked hard to get him comfortable. Each doctor that we saw was right on it. We are on night two of my son being hospitalized and still we are impressed with the care we are getting. I will update here if need be. But where we live in the sturbridge area, Southbridge's Harrington Hospital is Rubbish. Apples and oranges. We're very pleased with Baystate children's hospital so far!! Updating nearly a month later: Still we are so pleased with the service we got. My son had 2 follow-ups with another doctor not on campus of the hospital and the care my son received was fantastic. The doctor explained everything to my husband and didn't leave us with any question.

An uninformed patient cannot provide proper consent. Had I known that I would be in excruciating pain for more than a week, unable to move facial muscles, chew properly, ambulate, shower without tears, speak without pain, or sleep a night without waking up in pain, I would not have consented to this surgery. Only after a call to the office a week later did I learn that the scalp is complicated and presents these issues. I was never told to expect to miss days from work, and was assured that there are not a lot of nerves on the scalp and that it would not be painful. This happened in April 2026. I only went here because they had a sooner appointment for me. When I…read moregot there 20 mins before, I was not seen at my actual appointment time. I was called in 15 mins after my appointment time. I was taken to a back room and was asked questions about why I was there (when they already know why because when you make an appt, they ask what the reason for the appt is). Then, I waited and a PA came in. When she was talking, I thought she was talking to me, but in reality she was talking to her scribe... who was in another room... like ....? I did not like that at all. That's not a licensed medical professional who should be knowing why I'm even there in the first place and I didn't like that a random person whose face I can't even see knew what my appt was about. Although, the PA was nice. Afterwards, I was given something to read about giving them permission to do "surgery" & they only let you glance at it. I got a biopsy, that was not done by the PA..... it was done by the person who took me to one of the back rooms in the beginning. She asked if I was allergic to epinephrine and/or lidocaine. I said I wouldn't know since I have never had any surgeries or biopsies before. She still did the biopsy and sent me on my way without having me wait for 15 mins to see if I'm allergic to it or not, which thankfully, I'm not. She didn't stitch up the biopsy. She told me it would close up in 1-2 weeks and that I had to change the bandage once a day until it closes. Well, guess what? It did not close in the timeframe she said. I was so mad. It closed up 2 months later, June 2026. Yes, I was changing the bandage everyday for 2 months.. which was annoying. I ended up going to Demo's Dermatology (much better by the way!) that same month, June 2026, and the PA there was shocked and concerned as to why my wound from 2 months ago was still not closed. She did say that it was closing well and she prescribed me something for the wound & also Retin-A for my face (which is what I really wanted so I'm glad), meanwhile this place didn't even prescribe me anything. This place also charges extra for a skin exam which I thought was weird because at demo's dermatology it's part of your appointment and they don't charge you extra. Also, for some weird reason, this place didn't let me bring in my water bottle when I was taken to the back rooms... she made me leave it with one of the front desk employees, which I'm sure isn't part of their job description to be babysitting some patient's water bottle. I don't know why they didn't let me bring my water bottle in. This place charges way too much for everything. The prices are exaggerated. They charge way too much for mole removals when you can go ask around at other dermatology offices. Like, demo's dermatology only charges $250 per each mole that you want removed. All in all, I don't recommend this place. It seems like a mega corporate company. This was my experience, yours could be different than mine. It's either a hit or miss for others. It was a miss for me.
