This place is a horrible scam. I went in to get a checkup and it turned out i needed some fillings. The receptionist told me that i was responsible to pay 120 dollars for my fillings. My insurance covers fillings mind you. The receptionist there said its because the doctor uses "special medication " which is theft and a bunch of foolishness. My son needed some dental work, so I called this dentist that I found online. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked them whether they take our insurance. The receptionist said that they did[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So I made an appointment and brought him there. Once my son was in the chair, after X-rays had been taken, the receptionist and dentist informed me that I had to pay $414 upfront and just cash the check that my dental insurance would send me as a rembursement. They told me that the check amount might even be more than what they were charging me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I doubted that, and felt like this was a bait-and-switch. However, my son was in pain and needed relief, plus he was already half-way through the appointment, so I really had no choice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I charged it to my credit card. I later called my dental insurance, and they said that that clinic is not an in-service provider. The receptionist never told me that, but gave me the impression that they were. My dental insurance also informed me that, because they were not an in-service provider, I would only get 40% of what the insurance would usually pay out for the work my son had done on his teeth.  That amount is $40 and change, a tiny fraction of what they made me pay. The care quality was fine I guess. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But I am very dissatisfied with how the bait-and-switch that occurred in the middle of my son's checkup. The dentist tried to make so many tricks to get extra money in cash. I have advice to all, please do not go to this dental office by watching their so many scammed advertisement. This place is running some sort of an insurance fraud where they switch out the doctor to one that's no in network to insurance to get you to pay above insurance rates. If you complain, they were very happy to acknowledge that their dentist does not have qualifications to perform root canal and therefore an out of network doctor is required. Only way I can interprete that is that either their doctor sucks, or they jsut want more money from you. If that's not a red flag enough for you, they claim afterwards that you need to pay even more. Talked with my insurance company and they claim that this place didnt even bother trying to file for a root canal despite being required by law to do so and only claimed cleaning which is a service I did not even request to begin with. There's lots of other good dentists out there. Save yourself the trouble and go there. read more

Establishment is dirty and cluttered. The Dr did not believe me when I told her the numbing medication makes my heart race and when I passed out with a mouthful of instruments she accused me of taking medication that causes the blood pressure to increase. I did not take anything and it wasn't until I found a great dentist that informed me some people can be sensitive to certain medications and gave me an alternative. I live upstate but I still come down to queens just to go here .. they don't just take X-rays clean and send you on your way, they actually fix your dental issues and are very informative on how to care for your teeth issues after the visit .. staff is super friendly and it's basically just a pleasure to go to the dentist.. so I highly recommend you make the switch to bayside laser dental they will not disappoint :-) read more

Horror case about how I lost my teeth 20 and 21 that was supposed to have 2 crowns, with unnecessary root canals. After drill and shape the teeth for crowns, Dr Lee said: "you need root canal, and your insurance will not pay" she charged a lot of money. I scared, panic, and trusted her judgement. Turn out she had my tooth 21 root broke, and tooth 20 had a small extra root anomaly that was left. I did not had pain before the procedure, I had extreme pain after that was prescribed 12,000 miligrams Antibiotic, she denies anything wrong, "pain is relative, and goes away"... , and more 12,ooo mg Antibiotic when I did the retreatment of tooth 21 in another office. I had serious problem with my gastrointestinal tract and had to see more doctors/surgery The pain/sensitivity never left , and I decided for extractions of both teeth. I do not recommend this dentist to my worst enemy! read more

Incompetent or just thieves. My husband went there needed work done on front and back teeth.they started doing work on my front teeth used up all my insurance and also had to pay out of pocket to fix my teeth had (3 teeth put in) after 2 month teeth feel out went back to have them fixed and Dr. Hyang-Rim Lee said of course they will fall out you need to get the back fixed first..hmmm never heard that before. and now i have to pay to get them put back in.. so now my insurance is used up and guess what they want me to pay out of pocket. no reason for the teeth to fall out after 2 months .. so now im insurance wont cover and will need to pay to get the teeth put back in.. they just want to use up your insurance and them make you pay .. nothing but theives read more

I needed a root canal so I visited this doctor because she was in-network with my insurance. My insurance plan covers root canals at 100%, but the doctor claimed that I needed to pay a co-pay. I called my insurance company and they told me that I did not need to pay this co-pay. After I told the doctor, she told me that another specialist will be doing my root canal and he does not accept insurance. Funny that she said that to me because she specifically told me that SHE would be the one doing my root canal. On top of that, she began to mention crowns that that I needed to do. I told her I'll hold off on that because I KNEW I did not need them and she began to be very persistent. This doctor acts like she cares about your teeth, but all she wants is your money! She is a money hungry dentist ,and a theif her name is Hyang-Rim Lee at Bayside laser Dental and the first time I went there They were having issues with a patient ,she was Complaining and what I should of done is leave cause that a bad sign !! I went there for Crown Appy for CareCredit was Approve so she removed my old Crown then put in the Temporary teeth but when I got home the numbness wore off and I realize she did not put them in correctly so the next day I called but she was not there but told her assistant to Cancel the crown from the lab cause Crown it take 3weeks to get so I am sure they did not start doing them yet and to have her the dentist to called me but she never called me ,what she did do is went in my CareCredit and took out 3.000.00 out without my Consent that day ,These is the type of dentist she is ,she new I did not want her service so she rush and took my money so now I have no Crown ,I dispute it but now I have to get a lawyer cause she is a bad person dentist read more

She is the honest and skilled dentist I've ever gone to. I came to Dr. Lee because I had a toothache. She found out the decay was deep and might or might not need a root canal. My insurance did not cover root canal so I told her I won't be able to afford it. Then she was very careful when cleaning out the decayed area. After cleaning out the decay, she took a second x-ray to see if we can avoid a root canal. And so we did!! It saved me so much money and she saved my tooth. Also staffs were really friendly and they all seemed really happy to work there. They told me she really thinks a lot about patient's health and circumstances. I can't believe how uncomfortable this dentist made me feel. I came in for a regular cleaning and check up. I noticed after taking some x-rays that I had a few wisdom teeth. So I asked the doctor about it and she ignored me. Then she continued to tell me that I needed a crown which was 850. My teeth are in perfect condition. I always took care of them I don't even have a cavity and she kept telling me I needed a crown. Then she told me I needed deep cleaning. She kept adding on piles and piles of work that I needed to do when I did not need them at all. This place is a complete scam! Do not go here! read more
