There is a waiting room on both sides of the tracks but the one heading to NY/Hoboken is much bigger, cleaner, and it has rest rooms...that are surprisingly clean! Ticket vendors are also located on that side of the tracks. My only issue with this station is that, I get out of class around 9..it's reallyyyy dark and isolated around this time. I'm sure it's safe... BUT I would feel safer if the waiting room would not close at 8:30! This would be great ...especially considering the temperature outside.

I circled around many times to try and see if there were any signs around parking and ended up street parking by some apartment buildings. The area itself felt very sketchy and unsafe. A lot of drug usage out on the streets and it was a really run down area of bloomfield. If I had known in advance would have gone to another station - I felt very uneasy about leaving my car there.

In addition, there is a small office area with limited hours on the outbound side (although admittedly, I have never been inside of it). Yes, this station could use an elevator and lacks the proper ramps for anyone who may have difficulty or are unable to use stairs. However, it is my understanding that the town has been working hard to obtain the rights to the property so that it can do this. It is kept clean and it is convenient for me. Enough said.

Thanks to my amazing tour guide for the whole weekend, Bea R., for taking me to so many spots while I was in town. This PATH Train station is like a major hub connecting Jersey to NYC, and it will take you to the World Trade Center with many stops in-between. You can tap your way to gain access to the trains, I believe the cost is $3.25 for a ride. I can't remember how often the trains come and go, but if you miss it, you'll have to wait for the next one. I want to say about 15 to 20 minutes between trains, but I could be off. The trains themselves can be packed like you're in a can of sardines, but other times, not so much. I guess it depends what time of the day you go. I certainly wouldn't want to be on it during the week when everyone is getting off work! For the most part, the trains appear clean, but if you're a germophobe then you'll be prepared with gloves and probably face masks and a butt ton of hand sanitizer. If you're like me and not familiar with public transportation, I highly suggest you study for it in advance unless you have a tour guide like I did. The trains are quick to get you where you want to go, but if you're new to it, it will take some getting used to for sure. Hope you enJOY the ride!

Perhaps the other side of the station going downtown is not as desolate and there is an underpass to get to the uptown side? Does anyone know?
