I immediately pulled out my ID but explained that my younger sister, a minor, was not of legal age but accompanied me because I AM HER LEGAL GUARDIAN. The manager immediately told me to leave, and stated that he would not be serving me and that it is "illegal to bring a minor into Total Wine" I fired back and asked "Even if I leave her in the vehicle?" He shouted to "GET OUT OF HIS STORE!!" and chased my sister and I out. I cooled down and immediately looked up Total Wines policy which states "To help in this effort, we don't allow any person under the age of 21 to enter our store unless accompanied by an adult guardian of legal drinking age*. All parties in a group may be required to present identification. If you appear to be age 30 or under, our team members will ask for identification to ensure we are doing everything we can to prevent sales to minors. It's our responsibility to our neighbors and the community." So I returned to the store, and calmly explained that I read over Total Wine's policy on their website & that I am her legal guardian, I am of legal drinking age and that I shouldn't have been wrongly chased out. He processed to walk up to my face, nose to nose and threatened "TO LEAVE HIS STORE BEFORE IT GETS UGLY". I left Total Wine in Dedham and proceeded to head over to Dedham Police Headquarters to report the incident. I do not appreciate being wrongfully escorted out, I do not appreciate being shouted at, and finally do NOT appreciate being threatened by the manager of this bullshit establishment. As a former retail store manager, I hope your company retrains managers to speak to every customer in a respectful manner instead of power tripping when they're proven wrong.

There is a non profit named Community Servings that sells pies every year to help people who are shut in due to medical issues. The pies are absolutely delicious and comes in many flavors. I walked around the store to check out the selection. One guy followed me to the back of the store. He asked if I needed help. Yeah they still had their eye on me. Ha! That's a great deal considering Eataly across the street can't touch that price. I found two fantastic white wines. One was from Yugoslavia. It was really good. I had no idea Yugoslavia make wine. I thought they only made that little car called the Yugo. Where's the Yugo? Personally I'd stick to making wine over cars. I would totally buy this wine again. The store had a ton of foot traffic. I loved how the taxes were all built into the prices of the alcohol. There a single beer cooler in the back where you can select beers from the broken cases. They have signs about not breaking six packs in the fridge. That's so old school. In the old days you could always break six packs but don't do it here. You've been warned. This is a great stop to stock up your hotel room with cheers, especially if you're working at the convention center. Don't pay the high prices of the hotels. The Belgian beer I get is 5 cents more across the street at Trader Joes (big whoop) but the 20 minutes Of peace I gain by not having to venture into that madness and wait in line is priceless:) plus trader joe's only has but 1 flavor.

Probably not worth the 45-minute trek across town but on a positive note, we did find a great little Asian fusion restaurant/bar/lounge that made the trip worth it.
