DO NOT GO HERE IF OUT OF STATE. My boyfriend and I on vacation in Norwood and wanted to make our own cocktails for fun rather than going to the bar. At checkout, the lady at the counter immediately asked for both of our IDs (which is understandable because we look younger). She then said she had to go ask her manager to look at them because we were out of state. Not even two seconds later she rudely hands us back our IDs and says that we were not allowed to purchase any of our items. Our IDs have never been denied before and even if they were, the disrespect of this establishment is unacceptable. I visited Yankee Spirits recently and they did not carry what I was looking for. However, the staff was very helpful finding something similar. They went the extra mile offering me help with my purchase to the car. Personally, customer service is everything in this day and age to me. I went into the liquor store today to buy something I get to the cash register..I show her my ID she asks me can she see the person in the cars ID ?? Smh how do you know which car I got out of? I tell her I never hear that before ..they guy standing there says oh it's a new policy !! ..everyone in your party shows ID if they are in the store not outside in the car...I really think this was a act of racism. read more

Now it is my "#1 Liquor Store". They have so many different liquors and spirits. But the most important, my favorite champagne! They are pretty close to me, and prices are lower than any other local small liquor store. If you go to a party or birthday, stop at this place. Really bad customer experience. I placed a $300 online order for in-store pickup. The web site said that there's a 3 day turnaround time. When the 3rd day came and I didn't get a notice to say the order was ready, I called the Norwood store directly. They informed me that one of the items was out of the stock (thanks for letting me know that, btw) and that my order was in a limbo. I basically couldn't pick up only what was available without some complicated procedure with the corporate office. Note to management: Online orders are supposed to make things simple. Your company lacks the basic operating procedures to run a business. read more

This is the newest store in the Yankee Spirits chain around Mass.You might miss it tucked behind/on the side of a Honey baked ham store. It's very large and clean, and dimly lit compared to the brightness of the other locations. Albeit it being a sizable store, I don't find that the selection is as wide or varied as what you are used to at Yankee, at least with craft beers. Not a major difference but certainly noticeable if that is your forte. My boyfriend is into Belgian beers and what they offered in that category was little to none. Nonetheless, the staff was very helpful with recommending something tasty and harder to find. read more

A few weeks ago I bought a gift card as a thank you from Yankee Spirits in Norwood. I mailed the thank you card with the gift card in it and the recipient received the thank you card, without the gift card enclosed. (What is with the Norwood mail these days anyway?) In any case, I contacted Yankee Spirits and talked to Morris, a Manager, just to tell them the story and hope that they could track down the card to see if it has been used or not. Morris was extremely helpful and instructed me to contact the corporate office. This was on a weekend and I did call the corporate office and left a voicemail message and sure enough on Monday morning I immediately got a call back from someone in their financial division. The corporate office did their legwork and found out that the card was not used and immediately canceled it and overnighted me priority mail a new gift card in the full amount. Not only did I get great customer service, an immediate response, the gift card in the full amount that I paid, they covered the overnight shipping, which was over $25. The purpose of this review is to tell the story and to let you all know what a great experience I had with Yankee Spirits on Route 1 in Norwood. I was very impressed by it all. read more

I would consider myself a regular, but I just came back from another trip to Yankee Spirits and discovered I had been overcharged. I was charged for 2 bottles of a liqueur when I had only purchased one, and when we spoke to someone at the store over the phone, I was told I had to make another trip to the store to resolve the issue. Firstly, why can't this issue be handled over the phone, as the payment was made using a card, and secondly, the mistake it 100% Yankee Spirits', with the kid at the checkout counter not even able to scan items properly. This place is great - I have spent a lot of money over the past two months as I just found it tucked away off route 1. Great wine and sparkling section with unbeatable prices on the bourbon. Too bad I won't be going back for two reasons after reading the reviews. First one, I went to the register to buy a few things and the lady asks to see my wife's ID too in a very rude almost angry manner. I'm 43 and my wife is 38. She wouldn't sell me the stuff. There were no signs or postings of this rule anywhere but I didn't feel like fighting her because I could tell she had quite a bit of "Karen" in her. I had been bragging to my wife telling her how much she is going to love this place. Second reason is apparently they are racist? I'll pay a bit more on price at the competition, thanks. read more

So I would like to start with this is one of my favorite Liquor stores. They always have great prices and the staff is always very friendly I like that every month they have special deals that you can see online before going to the store. Today I picked up an order with the "pandemic pick-up"(thats my term not theirs lol). I placed the order Monday and it was ready for pick up Thursday. I thought that it was the only option they had and people weren't allowed in the store but thats not the case its just a very nice option they offer and I will definitely do it for any large orders I have in the future. If I just need one or two bottles ill go in but I really appreciate this option during these crazy covid-19 times! David was very friendly and brought my order out very quickly! I made a purchase in the Norwood store today and on the way home I realized that I was overcharged. When I got home and looked in the bag I saw there was no paper receipt, but I checked the online prices and charge to my credit card and confirmed that I was overcharged. I telephoned and spoke to Isaac Macy who was less than helpful. Required me to come back to the store to resolve the issue. I offered to give him my credit card over the phone and he would not accept. I asked to speak with someone else and he said he was the "general manager". I think he may have inflated his title a bit. Very poor service today. I policy should be clearly posted outside before entry. It should state....no ID for anyone in your party the no alcohol will be sold. Learn Yankee Spirits to actually provide better service. Now also know that no parent should be sold beer either when they enter with a child since they have no ID.
