On the day of the event, Greg was on-site all day, helping with anything and everything. There were NO hiccups with the technology or rooms. The space was bright, clean, and exactly as advertised. When I arrived and parked there were multiple signs saying that this is a high vehicle burglary area and that you should lock your car and remove all valuables. Then as I approached the cafe (where I wanted to dine on the patio because I had my small dog with me) I realized that they have a wall of shrubs which blocks the view from the patio to where your vehicle is parked. I completely understand that and it definitely makes the patio seem more private and lush. It also helps with the noise factor, but I would be fibbing if I didn't admit it made me a bit nervous not being able to see my vehicle. I went inside the cafe to ask about being seated on the patio and was told to to sit wherever I liked. There was only one customer inside the cafe when I arrived. The patio itself is lovely, with lots of seating and music playing. It gets a bit dirty out there though, so I had a few marks on my pants from the chair when I got up to leave. Service was "relaxed" . It took a bit to get the menus and then to get the order in. A couple who arrived after me was seated, ordered and got their food around the same time as I did, however, their waitress brought out their check and returned it to them, while mine never came back and ultimately, after that couple left, I decided to go inside to see and pay my bill. There were only two customers inside when I left so it definitely wasn't an oversight because they were too busy but I still gave a large tip. I didn't so much mind never being checked on, but being completely forgotten at the end did not feel great. I also appreciate when businesses don't rush you, but there is definitely a difference between the two. As for the food, I sampled several items. The lamb shoulder pappardelle had a very nice flavor on its own. Unfortunately, the huge chunks of lamb felt very out of place. I fed most of them to my pup, who quite enjoyed the lamb. The poached apricot toast was probably my favorite dish. Apricot slices over truffled goat cheese with a red wine reduction and a pistachio and basil relish. It was sharp and flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. I also sampled the Araceli sliders and truffled garlic fries. The sliders were just okay for me. They were a little dry and I think some sort of condiment or sauce would have made a big difference. I also removed the pepperoncini because they were rubbery and the wrong texture for sliders. The fries were fine, but be prepared to have serious garlic broth for a while. I liked the cafe and will probably come back again. The outdoor space here definitely has a lot of potential, but I would most likely bring something to wipe down my seat first with me. I would also hope for some more attentive service, but in general the servers I interacted with were both very nice. Hopefully my next experience here will be even better and I can update my review.

Vie Winery is a excellent tasting room to stop at during your journey. The indoor space is setup like that of a warehouse with a rustic and cozy feel. It's pretty spacious inside and also quite lively compared to the other tasting rooms on the Island. Vie shares an outdoor space with Sol Rouge Winery right next door. Their patio has a bocce ball court and a few chairs to lay out on white you're sipping on your wine. It's the perfect hangout spot on a warm summer day. Vie's tasting menu consists of 5 tastes of their current selection for $15. They specialize mainly in reds and red blends which is what they're known for. They did have one white wine on the menu which was a Roussane that I really didn't care for. It tasted like a beer which I found extremely odd. However, I was really impressed with their red blends. Their bottle prices are actually pretty reasonable, and if you don't want to purchase a bottle, you can always buy wine by the glass. Service from ". " was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about the wines and seemed passionate in explaining where they came from. She made eye contact with us, then immediately turned around & stormed off. Confused, we decided to walk further past some tables of people clearly enjoying themselves & we get up to her host table where she promptly told us "we're closed, this is a private party." No problem at all, just would've been nice to have a heads up before venturing all the way in. Disappointing since after we got back, friends & family had actually shared surprising good feedback from this place when they were there years ago.

Right away you can tell this place is well run. The energy is welcoming, the staff actually cares, and the community vibe is real -- competitive but still friendly. Pickleball-wise, it's stacked. 8 indoor courts that are clean, permanent, and play great, plus 7 outdoor courts if you want fresh air. Runs are organized, people know how to play, and they're always hosting tournaments and competitive events, which I really appreciate as someone who plays a lot. Outside of pickleball, the gym setup is legit. Full cardio and strength equipment, unlimited group classes like yoga, barre, and more. Locker rooms are clean, with showers, sauna, and steam room -- clutch after long sessions. Pro shop is fully stocked and the staff is always down to help with gear or questions without being pushy. Small thing but funny -- they even added a ping pong table, which kinda says everything about the vibe here. Functional, fun, and community-first. If you're in the Bay and serious about pickleball, fitness, or just want a spot that's run right with good people, The Hub Alameda is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.
