It can be pricey but it's cheaper if you are a member. They also have social events! Very clean. I wish it was easier to take Muni or the ferry here.

Really disappointing experience at Bay Padel's glow-in-the-dark event…read more The event was clearly overbooked to a ridiculous degree. We arrived just after the recommended regular arrival time expecting to actually play, only to be told that the earliest available time was roughly two hours later, while pickleball had a wait of around four hours. For a paid, ticketed event costing $80+, that's completely unacceptable. If you're selling tickets, there should be some reasonable relationship between the number of people admitted and the actual capacity of the courts and venue. We waited around for about half an hour but ultimately left without playing anything and without even getting a drink. The most frustrating part is that none of this was communicated beforehand. Had we known that buying a ticket effectively meant standing around for hours hoping to get a court, we never would have gone. It felt less like a properly organized event and more like they simply sold as many tickets as possible without much regard for whether attendees could actually participate. Extremely poor planning and a terrible customer experience.

The courts themselves are nice but the nets weren't put together properly and sometimes need adjusting, or creative ways to fix them. We planned to play this past Sunday, and everything went smoothly. Communication was detailed clearly via email, parking was even easy to find the day of according to their instructions, and we enjoyed the carefree atmosphere the entire time we were there (fairly private and quiet since there are only two pickleball courts on site). Only problem was that I never received the gate code to the courts neither via email nor text message... so yeah that would have been a problem if someone didn't open it from the inside at my reservation time. I emailed them about this later, and they were apologetic about the mishap and quick to give me a refund. I appreciate their attention to the matter and effort to make things right.

I didn't realize that they moved to the Church Of 8 Wheels. Great business idea of the reuse of space but I felt like I was catfished. I booked reservations online they were $25 per person, in person it was $20... Its normally really windy and cold in SF and it felt nice being able to pickle indoors. Air circulation was not the best though. Improvement Opportunities for the Business: 1. Pickle Ball Lines & Roller Skating Lines were both white. The further courts had multiple white lines. It could be confusing at first. 2. Paddling Queue System was in the middle between courts. It was a distraction for me when I was playing because people were walking between courts to place down their paddles. 3. Dead spots on the ground... There were some dead spots on the ground because of all the rollerblading streaks. Also the ground was a bit slippery.

I've met so many great people, coaches, and really think my pickleball skills have improved by practicing here. It's a super fun way to meet people on top of getting an incredible workout! One of the owners, John, is very sweet and welcoming. He would watch when I play and give me pointers that have really helped improve my game! I've seen him do this for everyone and you can tell he's really passionate about helping others improve. Whether you're a pro at pickleball, or just learning, I highly recommend coming to DinkSF!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I only play pickleball here so can't speak to the tennis side of things, but the pickleball experience is top notch. Shout-out to Joel if you're taking lessons. Patient, clear, actually makes you better. Try to get him if you can. If you are a complete newbie, a clinic or group class is helpful. Beyond that, I think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. Instructors are good but with that many people on a court, you don't get individual attention. They recently started offering smaller-group lessons which seems like a better format. Now the asterisk. Reservations are basically impossible. Booking opens at 12:30pm and courts are gone in, not an exaggeration, one second. Again, I'm not exaggerating. And even if you click at exactly 12:30:00, you still might not get one. I've also heard the owners aren't fans of pickleball and aren't planning to add more courts, which if true is a bummer because the demand is obviously there. Honestly the reservation thing is so bad I went back and forth on whether this should be four stars. But the place itself is so great, maybe it's just a victim of its own success. If you CAN get a reservation, it's unbeatable.

I emailed the facility, and "Jerry" confirmed that they would charge me for the 2nd player and I was all set. Fast forward to our very first lesson- the manager, Joe, rudely interrupted the lesson to accuse me of trying to sneak a second player in without paying. Despite explaining the emails, he had clearly made up his mind that I was lying. Interrupting a paid customer's lesson to make unfounded accusations over a mistake caused by their own glitchy booking system and incompetent front desk staff is completely unacceptable.

Amazing staff--very kind and helpful, they're personable and help me when I need a specific court or want to book something or need my rackets restrung. They know my name and are very thoughtful--always with a smile. Shoutout to club manager Jake Stafford and tennis racket stringer Gary Bender. I love them and the front desk staff and cleaning crew--everyone is very friendly, helpful, understanding, and accommodating. Multiple times, I have booked courts and had to cancel (or mixed up my court times) and they've helped remedy the situation. Facilities are very nice--I love the pool, hot tub, locker rooms, and courts. The lights are good for night playing and there's some nice seating by the pickleball courts. The views are so good--I love seeing high rises and the Bay and Salesforce Tower looming behind over the club. I love the app for booking courts (and also book classes at Bay Club SF which is further down along the Embarcadero.) Gateway also has a few classes (like a weekly yoga on the grass.) Location is very convenient near downtown and the financial district. It's served by multiple Muni lines and BART and Muni Metro, and there's street parking and a small lot too! My one nit--I miss when there was more workout equipment and more socials and classes! I wish more people went to drop-in pickleball.
