From peeling paint to stained curtains that look like they were salvaged from a Goodwill to the crack between the wall and window (great for cold rainy nights, huh) this was at best, a movie set for a movie about seedy flea bag motels. The "kitchenette" was a small dorm unit with a coffee maker and toaster on top. The room barely had space for a double bed. We left after 10 minutes and booked another Airbnb which was spectacular. When we contacted the owner we were told 12A was one of the non renovated units but they could move us to a better one. WTF? So they had decent accommodations but chose to stick us in this dump? If you don't believe me look at the photos of 12A they post s mine from last night... Stay away!

The girl in the office is very mean. They don't have basic needs equipment. Even garbage bags you have to ask for it. You don't feel like you are welcomed here. Of 23 cottages available, they have 6, 7 rented out during the busiest season. My guess is that people rent here because everywhere else is full even though the town has a lot of accommodations. I would not recommend this place. The whole feel is the place is pretty dirty, not meet most people's cleaning standard。 The owner hired some temporary foreigners to come to do the job. It is not supervised well. Next trip, we will try to book a real motel or hotel early. So we don't have to stay in this crappy cottage.

The staff genuinely cared about each guest staying there, knowing us by name and having lovely conversation. The rooms were huge and very comfortable beds. The food was amazing, breakfast every morning with amazing sweet and savory options and great coffee. Every afternoon they had tea time with homemade treats. Cozy lobby to relax in and fantastic recommendations to local restaurants and spots to visit by the staff.

Breakfast came with an entree, fresh fruit, bread, fresh juice, coffee/tea. I never left hungry, that's for sure. Our room was spacious. We had a nice king sized bed that was cozy. Our shower was nice and hot, which was welcome after a long day of hiking or biking. We could control our room temp so we had nice cool nights so we could snuggle with the comforter. Each day starting at 3pm, snacks were served in the dining room which was often homemade cookies, iced tea, chips and salsa, or nuts. A little sweet and a little salty. A coffee and tea station was available 24/7. Cheryl was helpful with her knowledge of the area. The place was spotless and the employees worked well as a team. Such a great experience.

I managed to get in some telework okay, but this does not strike me as a place where most people will want to spent a ton of time on the internet.

We arrived exhausted on day 8 of a 16 day trip. We did NOT want to unpack and get in the car to go eat (even though Bar Harbor is convenient). Lo, and behold! Coffee shop across the street for the first morning, and a lobster shop visible across the street. The lobster shop was perfect for that first night. Location was convenient to Bar Harbor, Acadia, and a fantastic, quiet, friendly little beach just a mile down the side road. We did three trips to this little beach (one each evening we stayed). Beach is walkable from the cabins, but the last bit o' hill is steep. Drive down the first time to judge for yourself.

And, flexibility is all about it . We were able to get up to Acadia National Park in the comforts of a gorgeous 2023 new van by the informative owner. $10 pp each way. We were hoping to hike down, however, the rains the previous days did not warrant a safe hike, so we me her in the designated spot and have a ride on down the mountain. The room is spotlessly clean. The amenities are a bit older. A few minor things that need to be addressed are the broken arm of the patio chair, cracked wood wall, and the bathroom sink doesn't drain well. Other than that, this place is amazing and we'll come back and recomend it to friends and families. P.S. Bonus to the front row seat to the Harbor's 4th of July firework! The sunset and sunrise views are magical here.

Sadly we had to listen to our 'neighbor' conversations for hours every evening. (The owner did apologize to us for this given that we had to call them at 9:45 pm on our last nite, which was our anniversary, to have them call the other occupant & tell them to BE QUIET! By then our evening was ruined.) PS: The morning coffee was quite good & the property grounds are nice. Housekeeping could've done a better job.
