This company only cares for revenue. I get that it's a mutual agreement however, the staff is unprofessional, a few phone calls with Mike shows that. They are unable to accommodate to a set hour or a time frame as MOST companies do and then refuse to knock on the door instead demand access to the gate or yard as they have too many clients and it's inconvenient for them. We have used this company for a year and had excellent results. We had our pool refinished and had terrible issues with Algae and our pool was green :-( because the pool refinishing company dropped the ball. We call Bay Area Pool Tech and Nathan arrived at our house and said "this is my specialty and I will make this look clear" and he did!!! He came back 3 days in a row, just like he said he would. Looks like they were only throwing shock and chlorine tabs in every week. The chlorine level was off the charts high, explaining why I broke out from a swim 3 days after their last visit. The pump was also running but not pumping. There was no mention on the report. Lots of boxes checked off, but nothing was being done. Won't be using these guys. read more

Yelp has them coded as "pool cleaners", but they are much more than that. Pool equipment gone bad? They do it. Pool needs to be resurfaced? They do it. If it is needed after the builders build your pool, they do it. Of course, they do weekly service and maintenance as well. I have dealt with some very good and very bad pool service companies in northern Pinellas and western Pasco Counties. Rob Canizio and his team seem to be as good as it gets! read more

So I want to give a huge Shout out to Robert Canizio owner of Bay Area Pool Techs.. First I want to say I priced out as many pool companies I could and he was the most reasonable and knowledgable. When I first saw the house the pool was great and then by the time I closed... the pool wasnt in good shape. They said they had a pool guy coming to the house but the pool still looked like garbage.. Rob got the pool perfect within 24 hours and he couldnt believe that anyone was actually servicing the pool..Now fast forward to Today his pool Tech came over to service the pool and used a water spicket located near the pool that wasnt ever properly secured by the previous owners the pool tech got the PVC back in to stop the water spouting everywhere but when he left the pressure blew the PVC off again and I had water spouting everywhere..I didnt know what to do so I called Rob personally and even though it wasnt anything to do with the pool he immediately got on the phone with me trying to explain to me where my water main was but I didnt have the proper tool to turn it off and he jumped in his truck and rushed over to my house within 10 minutes turned off my main and fixed the PVC with no questions asked.. How many owners with a busy schedule you know would do that? I dont post glowing remarks like this EVER BUT I'm telling you if you have a pool and need service call them.. Great guy.. great service from a great family.. He didnt have to do anything it had nothing to do with the pool and it wasnt his techs fault it was just a PVC pipe improperly sealed by the previous owners. Thanks Rob read more
