I did some research on a few models and Leslie's had them in stock. When I arrived they were quite busy but both the employees made sure I didn't go unnoticed, and told me they would be just a few minutes. They were testing people's water and helping a few people find replacement parts, so it took a few minutes. When one of the guys was free he came over, and I asked him about two specific models which had good reviews and another model which was recommended by a friend. He explained both of those models in excellent detail including how they work, the movable parts, the parts that will wear out, how much replacement parts are, and pros and cons of each. He's a young guy but he really knew his stuff. He told me about another model that I didn't originally inquire about, which was more expensive but he told me there was a $150 rebate, which put it right down to the price of the other two. This model is an upgraded model of the other two, works better, has fewer movable parts, and is cheaper to repair the parts when they wear out. I took the new vacuum home, it was easy to install, and it works great! I was really happy with the attention, the vast knowledge, and the willingness to take the time to explain everything when they were very busy. He made sure he gave me 3 copies of the receipt - one for the rebate, one to bring in next time for a 20% discount on anything, and one to keep for my records. He even carried it to my car for me. Great job and great service! An additional note: I submitted some changes to the business info for the Yelp team. The street address is correct, but this store is in Palm Harbor (not Clearwater), the ZIP is 34684, and the map is totally wrong. It shows this in downtown Clearwater, when it is really on US 19 and Tampa Road in Palm Harbor. I thought this would be useful, until the info gets updated.

A couple of weeks ago I signed up for the home pool service that included testing the water and…read morecleaning the pool, weekly, for $100 per month. I didn't think I needed to ask a lot of questions - pretty basic, test the water, clean the pool (I told them cleaning wasn't necessary since I use a robotic system). I had been using an automatic water tester that I didn't like (didn't include all the normal tests), tried test trips (low accuracy), tried the chemical kit that was delivered with the pool (not much better than test strips), and taking samples to Leslie or Pinch A Penny. Both of those companies ran very detailed tests. But I thought a weekly test conducted by Pinch A Penny would be more convenient so I signed up. First week someone comes by, tests the water using a portable chemical test (fill the vials with water, drop a solution in, shake, look a the colors against a chart) made adjustments to the salt chlorination unit. Shake the chemical vials seemed a bit strange but I didn't say anything. After 3 weeks, this morning I tried to get into Pinch A Penny website and see my weekly test reports - not at all successful. Went to their store this morning and asked to seem my results over the past 3 weeks. Not in the system, so I manager (?) came out to help. He said the results are "in the back" and asked for my address, phone number and name. Comes back with "you're ph was....." and nothing else. I asked how I can see my results. Basically, you can't - at least not electronically through their portal. You can see the ones where they tested water you brought to the store. They don't have a way to enter them into the system. They also don't email you a weekly report, etc. You also don't get any indication they came to your house, like a sticker on your door. Is this important? YES IT IS. In the first visit they used one of those fill the vials and shake test unit, not a portal device similar to what they have in the store. Warning bells went off. That caused explore testing units. Leslie has a home unit, just like the one they use in the store that you can subscribe to for $50 a month, photo below. It gives you the same results, actions to take, formatted and printable just like what they give you in the store. I used it 5 times over the past couple of weeks. The reports show I wasn't getting any benefit from Pinch A Penny testing at my house. And I mean no benefit at all that I could determine. That's why I wanted to see reports. Consider all of your options before signing up for this.

Our sales person (Dan Meyer) took the time to thoroughly explain every detail to us so we knew exactly what to expect. My husband and I are finance professionals and really take our time evaluating all options before making a decision. Dan was extremely patient with us through the process. We appreciated that the company provided an itemized breakdown of the costs for us so we knew exactly where every dollar spent was going towards. Dan also did a wonderful job creating a unique design for our pool/spa combo. Every other company that came out to give us quotes just drew a basic rectangle shaped pool, but Dan really put time and thought into his design and it showed! We also appreciated that Larsen's provided an all-in quote and would return funds if things weren't needed (like well points), compared to other companies that provided us lower quotes to "win the business", but then said there could be additional expenses. As finance professionals, we like to know exactly how much the project could cost and really appreciated this approach. Once construction began we worked with Jason and things moved quickly! We did have some weather delays, but that was to be expected. My husband is a bit of a perfectionist, so he was constantly checking on the detail of work being completed. If he wanted something changed or corrected, we just let Jason know and a crew was out to make it perfect for us, no questions asked. The level of customer service and communication throughout the entire project was very much appreciated and allows us to enjoy our beautifully finished pool and spa even more. We are SO HAPPY with the final product and the experience we had leading up to it. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Larsen's Pool & Spa to any of our friends and family!

After a few months the pool looked like a swamp. I had several quotes to get the pool cleaned and running again, some of these other companies really tried to gouge me and upcharge me on things I did not want. Bob came out and gave me a very reasonable quote and did not try to upcharge me on anything. Once the pool got cleaned out I decided I should refinish it and add a sundeck. Again they could of gave me an outrageous quote since half the job was done but once again I was given a very reasonable number. Communication was great by phone, text and email. The guys who came out to do the work were very friendly and professional. The job got done in a reasonable amount of time and the pool looks fantastic. The company was know as Walker pools previously but now called Affordable so you can look up both to find them. If I ever need pool repairs again they will be the first ones I call. Really great job.

Larry the owner was contacted. He angrily accused us of shutting off pool pump and adding too much water. He also said we could swim in it with the green algae. He never can out to look. We gave his pool tech 2 more visits hoping he would correct the problem but it didn't happen. So we had to fire them. When new service can out they fixed the problem but also stated pool filter must not have been back washed the whole time as it was like mud when they did it. I would not recommend them to anyone because if you have a problem with their service it must be you!

Cara the owner, was very gracious and advised she would have Ben, her husband, come out and look at the spa pump. Ben came and looked at the pump and felt confident it could be repaired. He ordered the necessary parts and indicated he would let us know when it came in. In the meantime, we mentioned to the pool builder doing the resurfacing that we had contacted Dutchcraft Services to repair the pump. Marty, from US Pools without us asking, stated that Ben does great work and he also recommended them. How cool was that? Ben completed the work. we had a hiccup, not because of anything Ben had done wrong, but the company putting the pebble sheen had plugged the spa to avoid material going into the pipe. They unplugged it and the spa pump works like a charm!! The best part, Ben's price was very reasonable! We are sooo happy with it and we are using the spa more than we ever have! I love this family owned business, they care and are meticulous with their work. Working with Posh Pools was one of the most painful vendor experiences that I have ever…read moreencountered. Overall, the work that was done on my pool was pretty top notch. The vendor Posh used to lay the pavers went above and beyond and did a tremendous job. I am already using them on another project. The Posh employees that demolished and repaired my pool were hard working, easy to talk to/ask questions, informative, and did an overall tremendous job. However, the pain I encountered solely focused around the sales and management of our process. Up front, the sales rep promised us a project manager that would be in contact with me throughout the process. He promised daily emails with updates. He promised us a 2% discount if we purchased pavers and the pool repair. He told us the process would take no more than 10 days to complete once started. None of that came to fruition. The total start to finish time took 2 and a half months. During that time, a palate of pavers destroyed my front lawn sitting for several weeks. I had to pay to move a BBQ party to a paid venue (the party was scheduled 2 months away from the start date. I made a poor assumption that the delta between 10 days and 2 months would give us ample leg room). There was never a project manager in touch with me nor did I ever receive updates. I had to play a guessing game on whether or not someone would show up in my backyard that day, or the next, or the following. The only time I did get updates was when I called the main office. I guess the project manager was me? I, of course, never received the discount; and when I tried calling the rep out on it, he gave a bs excuse about how he "upgraded my tiles for free" and never returned another call. I have pictures proving the tiles are a base, not upgraded, tile. To add salt to the wound, the owner sends a really nice note thanking you for your business with his cell phone number on it to call if you need anything. You can call the number. He'll never call you back. I think I left somewhere between 6-8 different voicemails and emails. He called once. The only time he reached out to me was when he wanted his final check. For some reason, the check was desperately needed on the last day of the month, so I was requested to leave it outside in the open. I obliged despite not wanting to and made one simple request - send me a quick email so that I know you received it. Never happened. Overall, I am satisfied with the physical work that was done and the end result. However, the lies that were fed to get my sell and the lack of any sort of project management made this a horrifically stressful experience. I would have paid more money to simply have this done right.
