Ignacio, who came for the site visit and identified himself as the owner, was very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. However, Jackie, (not clear to me if she's the co-owner or Ignacio's wife) finalizes pricing and pretty much runs the show. For our project, we had picked IVS to do the work, but the price kept increasing by thousands of dollars. I asked to speak with Ignacio since these changes were inconsistent with what I discussed with him and put them week above our other quotes, but Jackie said that's not necessary since she decides the pricing. They also charge tax on materials, which no other fencers do (since they're already paying tax to Home Depot, etc.). These business practices felt disingenuous to me and like bait and switch. I've had issues in the past with businesses like this that once the work begins they'll change order you again and ask for more money. So we did not use them. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range and IVS was around $12K. All were licensed and bonded. We went with the lowest quote and are extremely happy with our fence.

We like doing business with him so much that when a very large eucalyptus tree crashed through another fence taking out trees in our yard and destroying plants and gutters he came out that night. Owner Jose promised to be at my home and supervise while replacement of a double- gate was being…read moredone. He showed up with two guys and left. He asked for half payment at the beginning of the job and I paid it, he told me to give the other half to one of his workers when they finished with the gate. They were supposed to take out the dirt, behind to gate, so that the gate could open, and taper the dirt to line up with the rest of the ground. They dug a 6" wide, trench so that the door can open, but unsafe to walk on - you could sprain or break your ankle if your foot went into the trench. The guys dug the deep trench, threw the dirt all over the side of the house, even though I asked him to put it in a pile. I took a video and sent it to Jose. He said he would return the next day to fix it, and bring the handles for the gate and put them on. I called Jose but never heard from him again. Warning - do not pay him anything until he does what he promises (my mistake) I would not recommend him to anyone, he lies a lot, and he does not supervise his projects.

This review is a bit overdue. I called Deckmasters early in the year to replace a broken and rotting cement step that led into my dwelling.
