This is a great place to take your BMW if you care about having it taken care of right. They definitely know BMWs and have always taken good care of my car. Sometimes they offer "shuttle" service, which is essentially John or one of his colleagues driving you in their own car, but sometimes they're too busy to do that so be sure to ask in advance. If you take 5 minutes to speak with John you'll understand that he knows BMWs (and drives a pretty sweet one himself). I feel confident taking my car here. Also, they never try to push unnecessary services on you. Every time they inspect my car, they tell me what needs to be done, what should be done and what can wait. I really appreciate that. Final note, the prices are reasonable. They're not super cheap, but if that's what you want then take your car to a chain that doesn't specialize in BMWs. read more

We talked about what my car was doing and Rob answered all of my question. He explained to me that it could be any one of a few issues and that he would check it out. Came here to get some work done on my car. The guy at the front desk was rude and doesn't listen to what the customer wants. Doesn't even greet when I enter. I wanted an oil change and he says "well what's the car doing?" I'm like dude I just want an oil Change, here's the oil and filter I want to use. He claims he can't do the work because he doesn't want to just charge for labor, he than says "we deserve a mark up on the parts prices!" Well I guess 'profit over customer satisfaction' is the motto here. Knowing how this business treats potential customers I can understand why there is barley one car there a week. If we all wanted to pay dealer prices that we would go to a dealer. At least the dealer has the correct software and loaner vehicles and bathrooms plus more. Do yourself a favor and find a better shop. There are many in the area. Even the guys at the shop across the street from the BMW shop says that the guy over at this BMW store is weird and difficult to work with! INDEED!!! read more

Pros: - BMW master tech credentials. - Former dealership service experience. - They have the potential to fix slightly more difficult issues. - Parts cost seems competitive with online pricing. Cons: - You will be charged the estimated labor time even though the actual hands-on labor time with your vehicle is less. Lets say the labor estimate is six hours but the actual hands-on time is three hours, you will get charged six hours of labor. Pay attention here because this is where you get bitten at $90/hour labor. - Overall service cost not competitive with other quality independent shops. - Carelessness with handling of vehicle. One of my front grills fell off on the way home after getting service here one time probably due to them grabbing the grill to open the hood and breaking off the tabs. And, after the last oil service I now notice oil is leaking onto my driveway which has never been an issue before. There are proper process and torque specs for changing oil/filter and if not followed will result in damage. - Small shop with only two car lifts and two mechanics. There can be a wait if they get busy. Perhaps this is the reason for the carelessness is because they rush the work. - May not be proactive with pointing out potential issues. Summary: After getting my vehicle serviced here several times I'm now reconsidering due to discrepancy with getting charged estimated labor versus actual hands-on labor, the trend of carelessness and resulting damage and overall high service cost compared with other quality independent shops. read more

They charged me more than BMW quoted me and for less work. How are you going to tell me 6 hours is 180 dollars and then charge me that for one hour if that much? I am a first time BMW owner. Going into buying it I knew repairs would be a little more expensive than other cars and the fact that I bought a used one and not knowing how well it was maintained previously also may add costs. This morning I went in to get new brake sensors installed; a relatively minor repair and I was charged what I felt was a great fair, non Dealer price. Small business owners have to make a living as well and I have absolutely no problem with that. Support local business ! The reason I am writing this review, other than having found a great trustworthy mechanic, is for the great customer service. While the car was being repaired I had a lovely conversation with Rob's father and when Rob was done he answered my newbie questions on oil change frequency ( I just don't trust the once a year for BMWs that I have read about) and he also told me what needs to be done eventually,if at all, and what to listen for. I took my BMW here after having the dealer want to do a 2800$ repair (replace my whole computer) brought it to Rob and right away he said it prob ur pins creating a short the next day he was able to get the part and fix my computer screen for $500!!! Yes that's right less than half the dealer quoted, plus the dealer never even knew what was wrong. The dealer always wants to do the biggest/easiest repair that cost the most. Crazy! I was searching for a good honest BMW Technician in Orange County and BAVARIAN Autotech came up highly recommend by BMW groups. Manfred and Rob are very professional and pleasant to deal with. My X-5 was fixed in a timely manner and the cost is extremely reasonable compare to the other certified technicians. Rob also identified certain issues that I was not aware of in regards of maintaining my car. I also brought my car back to have the brakes fixed since the brake lights keep coming on and off. Rob suggested for me to bring the car in and have it checked. The brakes were inspected and diagnosed. The brakes does not to be replaced or changed, thus saving me hundreds of $$$. I've been going to this Automotive repair shop for seven or eight years now. An d prior to them, I was going to MSport when Leif Anderberg had a mechanic on staff. This is run by two German gentlemen and the son of one of them, all former dealership mechanics from around Orange county. There are usually a few cars lined up, but they will always give you an accurate and timely estimate, will deal straight with you on your BMWs maladies, and always, always will deal fairly with you, which is hardly the story one hears about BMW dealerships. I first found out about them when a former BMW ACA L.A. president recommended them online, and have had them work on three of my cars, and counting. read more

Took my 7-series here for an oil service and rear brakes. After expecting the usual, "oh we'll need to also change this-and-that, and oh--by the way--we'll need to change your rotors too" drill, where I wind up having to take a mortgage out on my house, I was pleasantly surprised to get a perfunctory oil change and a changing of the brake pads. All in, it was under $700 which, for those of you who own a 7-series, isn't a very big bill. A while back, Crevier told me that a rear brake job would run $1200. John was a good guy to work with for no-frills service. There are no loaner cars (the web site speaks of loaner cars, but what he does is let you know there's a place for a cheap rental) and they don't detail your car, but this will more than do. I was going to Integrity Motorcar before, but I think Bavarian is a better value. read more
