My friend and I went here yesterday to beat the heat and it's everything I thought it would be. The menu is a lot so preview online before you go. I went with the build your own option so I can add my favs. I got the bubble waffle(flat) which means in the box instead of cup. That made it so much easier to in my opinion. Myfriend got the cup and didn't know where to start but she figured it out real quick.. lol. I got 2 scoops of chocolate Gelato with Carmel and chocolate sauce, strawberries, graham crackers. Fire!!! I asked for a touch of whip cream and he hooked me up for free which was really nice. Staff is patience, and cool. The waffle was so light, the strawberries fresh and sliced, and the gelato was creamy and cold and not too sweet. Everything tasted fantastic! Get here asap. I have been waiting for Battr to open for months now! I was so excited to have a place within walking distance that would help to satisfy my sweet tooth! I haven't tried any of their desserts as I already had one prior to arriving on the day of my visit, but since I had been looking forward to visiting them so much I still wanted to try something and I decided on trying one of their iced teas! I was torn between the lychee iced tea and the raspberry iced tea, so I asked the cashier. Her and a few coworkers battled it out on what I should try and finally I went with their alternative recommendation of the passion fruit iced tea. Although I wasn't a fan (it was a bit too tart for my taste) I still enjoyed the experience and the customer service from the team! The shop itself is cute, it's tiny, but that's normal for the area, and they offer a decent seating area outside and upstairs! This place is pretty legit. Stopped in on a Tuesday night and were greeted by two friendly employees behind the counter. We had never been there before, so they explained the options and even let me sample a couple of the gelato flavors. There is so much to choose from here! We both ended up doing the create your own bubble waffles and let me tell you...don't be too scared by the $10 price tag because it is a ton of dessert. As other reviewers have said, it is a little slow waiting to get your treat, but crafting these creations is an art! I got one scoop of cookies and cream and one scoop of salted caramel gelato, then chose to top it with marshmallow fluff and Oreos (you get choices of two sauces and two toppings, but I was overwhelmed so just chose one of each). The girl working even offered to torch the marshmallow fluff which was so the right call because it was amazing! My friend got the bananas foster gelato and topped it with marshmallow fluff and bananas and said it was delicious as well. She loved the bubble waffle and I thought it was good but didn't love how soggy the part touching the ice cream got so I think it would be better as more of a topping. Gelato was five star but the customer service was less than pleasant. I took a small walk to Battr today w my kids after finding them on IG. The guy at the register had glasses and was heavy set the other guys were much younger & more pleasant. There were two groups ahead of me & by the time the cashier got to me I had a much different experience than the two groups ahead of me. The cashier was joking and making suggestions on their orders such as toppings and sauces etc. When it came to me I didn't know what a crepe is or the bubble waffle, anyways the cashier didn't offer the friendly service the other groups got so I ordered what my kids wanted and walked home the cashier rushed me, didn't offer any suggestions and didn't even crack a smile. If you want a great sugar rush this is definitely the place! Their waffles and ice cream are sooooo good and their insane combinations will definitely leave you rolling out the place. The 4 stars is just because the service is a bit slow and it took almost and hour to get our order and it didn't even come together which made the experience a bit not seem less since we really wanted to eat the food together but other than that delicious treat for sure! read more

Alright so I initially gave Battr a rave review. I still love them as a business- but they gotta get more help in the evenings. I've had two experiences now in the evenings when I've waited over half an hour for my order bc they only had one person creating their elaborate creations- and had a line out the door waiting for their order to be taken. They also were out of a lot of ingredients too- which didn't help my opinion of them. Until you see reviews stating otherwise- I wouldn't waste your time in the late evenings. I've heard they're better when they first open and they have more people there at the beginning shifts. But Tremont is a late night place! You're going to get rushed and are missing out on some serious money in that time frame! read more

The gelato is good, unfortunately they don't make it in house. The staff said they bring it in from a farm in Michigan. The staff said they do make the crepe batter, but she said they mostly just assemble the gelato and waffle or crepe. It was good but thought I was supporting a local business not a farm in Michigan. I won't go back only because it is ridiculously dirty. The floors, stairs are gross. I understand you might get ice cream etc dropped but this is just plain old dirt, kinda looks like mold. There is a small refrigerator that looks like no one swept or washed the floors around or under it since the place opened. Good gelato but the store needs a good cleaning. read more

We ordered the Cookie Butter Fosters ($12), a BYO bubble waffle, Nutella iced latte ($6) & cereal latte ($7, includes $1 extra for oatmilk). The employee was friendly and offered to let us sample different gelato flavors. The desserts are gigantic, even when splitting with someone. Got a 3 pack waffle (mango glaze with tajin, dark chocolate and churros with caramel) and oh boy to say they were delicious would be an understatement! Now that was absolutely spectacular! Tasty ice cream but awful management and service system. I've ordered ice cream from here multiple times, just one scoop, and ended up waiting 10 minutes just to be given a scoop. There are often two separate lines, one to taste ice cream and one to pay - instead of there being one line through the ice cream tasting and selection to the register. I don't think management had given good training to staff as I've often seen employees looking up behind them at the menu to see what they need to put in sundae orders. I am really sorry to give a low rating, but I've got to be honest about my experience. What I wanted when I went in was a fresh, warm crêpe with bananas and Nutella. What I got was a premade crêpe that was not warm. The bananas and Nutella were not only on the inside, but the crêpe was laying down in a box, like a slice of pizza with Nutella and bananas all over it. It was a nightmare to eat. The concept is over the top if you do it as the staff recommended, which is adding all sorts of other things, including gelato. I think less is more in this case. If I go back, it might be to taste the gelato, but no way do I want a crêpe out of a package. We have good places in Cleveland where they make them from scratch and I will stick with that. My husband and I each got a bubble waffle gelato bowl and it was $26, major rip off. I had pistachio gelato and it was flavorless, chalky and filled with mushy whole pistachios. I paid a little extra for some toppings, which one was a Ferraro Rocher and they charged $2 for a single piece. Ridiculous. My husband had the strawberry specialty one and also wasn't a fan, overall the gelato wasn't good which is the most important thing. Waffles are cool shape, that's about it. Probably won't be coming back. Also saw a staff member being incredibly rude to their employees, who I assume are new and training considering this place just opened. Stopped by after walking my dog and seen it was open. The line was long and it was crazy busy but I decided to take a chance anyways because I seen they had crepes. I waited in line for a while and was greeted by friendly staff. I decided on the crème brûlée crepe cone and OMG it was to die for. The vanilla gelato under the custard mixed so well with the strawberries. Next time I'll try a bubble waffle cone. They just opened so I expect wait time and turn around will improve but I would wait over and over again for that crepe, it was so delicious.
