Came with my boyfriend and some friends around 4pm on Saturday. We did axe throwing with Will and then did two races of go karts. Overall this is a huge space for people to mingle and have fun so big groups will do well, but seemed to lack identity as well as coherence. For example, their reservation system was down so I had to email to book our spot. Then someone called to put my card down for a no-show. But once inside, there was no connection between my reservation, our waivers, or our names being used in various systems. Hopefully they can connect all of them and you can just include your name once across the multiple activities. Also, we ordered a bucket of craft beers/ciders but they didn't seem to have most of them or know the names. We spent about $100 for the two of us (axes for 1 hour, 2 races, 1 beer each) I think this place could be great and see the vision the owners had since moving from the distillery district. But there are definitely some growing pains that I hope will be fixed when we return. For now, it was okay. read more

A wonderful gift from my sons. We had a blast, and the axe throwing coach Kevin made it worth it. My sons had done it before, and with their help, and Kevin's knowledge, I quickly caught on how to hold, and throw the axe. Also, it really works the arms and upper back. You can think of it as the new darts, but on a much larger scale. The weight of the axes make it the ultimate upper body workout. Plus, I found out that there is even a National Axe Throwing Competition (NATC); so, it could be the next big Olympic sport. If you haven't tried it yet, you really should, but it can be very addictive, due to things getting competitive with your family and friends. read more

The karts are too fast for the track which makes them the best. They start the speed slow and turn it up. There 20 laps and by the time they turn up the juice you are screaming fast. The price is great for how many laps you get. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating. Definitely going back. Thanks for a great time :) read more

This is such a fun concept. I've been three times and I'm terrible at it, but that still doesn't ruin the fun! It's reasonably priced, everyone is always friendly, and it's great stress relief. Fun and good prices but there was only like 2 employees so it took forever to do any activity

went Saturday night with a group of 8 people. the axe throwing itself was fun. our pit boss was nice enough. however the safety here is a concern. each pit is divided by a chain link fence. for some reason the venue was too cheap or just irresponsible enough to leave around a foot long gap at the top of the fence. apparently while i was throwing an axe, the people to the left of us threw a throwing star. i'm assuming they threw it very hard because it ricocheted off the wood target area and flew over that gap in the fence, right towards me. fortunately it did not hit me but it very well could have hit me or the people spectating directly behind me. the pit boss picked it up real quick, probably in hopes of hiding it. she down played the situation and got annoyed when a friend got vocal with his concerns. i think the pit boss of the pit next to us was the real issue though. they were obviously allowing those people to throw axes and stars WAY too hard. we kept going on but the incident was on my mind the rest of the night. another employee came up to me and said "i'm glad you're alive" which i found rude coming from an employee. definitely not something you want to hear in that environment. i brought up my concerns w the throwing stars specifically and he said it could have been an axe that flew over just as easily. i highly doubt that. if this venue doesn't take proper precautions (closing that gap in the fence / watching how hard people are throwing) then they should NOT allow throwing stars / cards which are much more liable to bounce and ricochet due to their design. interestingly enough i have a video of the ninja star ricocheting and coming by me. it was the only video my boyfriend took and you can see it clearly fly up and over the fence. i wish i could post it here but i'll take a screenshots and circle it. it's blurry because that thing was moving FAST. bonus mention: they didn't card anyone in my group for alcohol and we're all in our 20s (i'm 22 lmao). obviously they don't follow regulations too closely. read more

Loved it. The new place has so many cool things you cant find anywhere else. A group of 6 us went and threw axes for an hr, bowled for an hr, raced the really fast go karts, ate and drank and paid less than $250 for all of that!!! read more

Full disclosure... I attended the soft opening. So, I can't comment on the booking process and the pricing. The grand opening is 11/1/18 and man, is it a sharp idea to bring this fun to Lexington. I've seen these axes throwing places in other cities and I'd heard about how fun they are, but I have to admit that I was skeptical had I would find it fun. Ok, I was scared. I once had an accident at a shooting range and vowed to never do anything that adventurous again. It's located in the Distillery District, in the building/former rick house with the big mural. Most people have heard that the parking in the Distillery District is horrible. NOT here. They have their own, new parking lot, right in front of the mural. The entrance is in the midst of the mural... that was surprising. Back to the game. I thought it would be like darts, but I actually felt entertained, like bowling... maybe that's because I don't enjoy darts. Maybe it's because I never threw with a group. Who knows, but axes throwing is an absolute blast. This is definitely a place that makes me proud to be a Lexingtonian. We made it Lexington! read more

Finished my team building event with coworkers here and it was a great finish to the end of the day. Arrived around 2 and received an in brief from our pit boss. From there we went to throwing axes. Everyone had a blast and enjoyed the afternoon. We had a group of 11 and they allowed us to all jump in and take turns. Wasn't the best use of the hour on our part but it was the best way we could all have fun together. Each pit has three lanes and to get the most for your money I'd recommend a group of three. You can set up with reservations or do walk-ins. There is only one walk-in pit and if someone is there throwing before you you'll have to wait your turn. This is really fun and something totally unexpected for me to do. I enjoyed throwing the axe and practicing my swing. The instructor was really helping full and informative. GREEDY, MONEY HUNGRY. Went last night for a date and with the first throw, my date partially dislocated her shoulder. Since it was obvious that we couldn't throw axes (or anything!) for the evening, we requested a refund, or to put the money towards one of the other games The manager refused, saying that my date could just watch me throw axes for the hour. Not everyone can throw the same kind consistently. They can accommodate a large amount of people & plenty of parking right now. The only draw back I see is acoustics are awful. All the staff members are willing to help you out while you throw and suggest pointers if need be. I highly recommend making a reservation so that you can throw cards and ninja stars. So basically someone applied to concept of a bowling alley to what is arguably a manlier activity, throwing hatchets of varying size at a wooden bullseye. Each "lane" is assigned an attendant who monitors for safety, advises on how to improve, and can run different "games" if requested. Lanes can be reserved in advance or rented on a "will call" basis. Hatchets vary in size from a four pound two-handed to a one pound one handed axe. It's definitely an acquired skill... definitely don't go in expecting to do great your first time. No food is available here, but they do allow outside food in (which, in the Pepper District isn't hard to come by). They do sell beverages, bottles and cans of various sodas and beers depending on your preference. The decor is very basic and a little rustic, but only by necessity. I'm sure staff have to replace parts of the walls in the throwing lanes on the regular since, you know, pieces of sharp metal are being propelled at them constantly. Regardless, I would recommend. If you're curious, give it a shot. read more

Great place to come to with friends! I came here for a coworkers birthday and all of the employees were so nice and helpful. I was a little scared about the whole experience, but our pit master, Scott, was so nice! Scott made it fun for our whole group. The location has a bar attached to it where they have a great selection of craft beers. They also allow groups to bring in outside food which was convenient and added to the whole experience. First time coming here. Paid for a party of nine. It was $90.00. I tipped 18.00. Found out during our session that we could only be there for 30 mins. We didn't even get through the 3 rounds. Barely got through 2. Seems like they should do it based on the size of the party or at least the minimum should be an hour. To get every throw for 9 ppl, if you do the math, 9 ppl throwing 5 axes per round means each person has to throw each ax at .22 seconds per throw. Not going to happen. New place in Lexington that is definitely worth all the hype. It is located in the distillery section on the large building with the mural on it. If you like bowling then you will love this, same concept except throwing axes. Bring in a group of people and team up to go head to head on who buys the next round. Dont know how to throw, no worries, the staff is very informative on how to toss properly and it is extremely safe with all the precautions they take. They do serve beverages and snacks here to include beer. The only negative that I can say is if you are a sober driver the soda drinks are a bit too pricey at $2.12 per can. My friends and I didn't know you had to make a reservation 48 hours in advance (but you definitely should consider that as you get a full hour of throwing!) We ended up coming in on a Sunday around 12:30pm and throwing for 30 mins (which between 4 of us was kind of short per person as we had 2 targets and could only throw 2 at a time) but we had a blast! Super fun new activity in town! We had a great time even though three out of the four of us apparently suck at throwing axes. Definitely make a reservation - this place is already packed on a Saturday night. Our pit boss, Derek, was super nice and friendly. Your "pit" has two targets and an hour is plenty of time to get all your aggressions out. And for those of you wondering, yes, you can drink beer WHILE YOU ARE THROWING AXES (well, you at least have to set it down while you throw). I can't imagine what their liability insurance premium looks like. Getting in there is a little less fun. It's pretty loud and the people at the front desk are impossible to hear - even if you are standing right in front of them. Same at the beer counter. It would be nice if they set up a wall separating the check in/drink area so everyone isn't screaming at each other. And you are forced to pay a deposit on your reservation in advance, but when I checked out and paid that night, I was charged the full amount. Luckily I thought of that the next day and the manager was very responsive and issued a refund. But I shouldn't have to ask for my money back. Finally, I do think it is a little pricey. I will come back eventually, but not as much as I would if it were even $5 per person, per hour less expensive. As it is right now, this is "novelty" activity - one of those things you do once or when friends come to town. But I do recommend giving it a try - you may discover a new skill! read more
