The biggest disappointment is that there is no deep water to swim in, the deepest part is about 4 foot and is a very small, crowded area. The part where the water slide dumps out is roped off for safety which is understandable, but this area could be smaller in my opinion so that there's more swimming area. Pros: - cheap, lots of chairs, 4 big umbrellas for shaded chairs (these obviously fill up fast), "cabanas" available for rent, very easy entry in and out of pool, lazy river and water slide, lazy river was perfect temp, several lifeguards on duty, not checking bags so you can easily bring in outside food and water, gave me the resident price even though I'm not a KY resident Cons - no deep swimming area, only chairs are loungers - no regular chairs, main pool is ice cold and like not a refreshing cold - even on a 90° day, no enforcement of "kids take a 15 minute break every hour" rule, lots of small rocks around, lots of small trash and wrappers, long concession line, no reentry, kids jumping and flipping into other people Don't get here at 11:20 (they open at 11:30) and think you'll be quick to get in - we waited 45 minutes to get inside. One girl working, credit card reader would disconnect or was very slow, pretty inefficient. We were able to cool off, but I wouldn't come back - you're better off to stay at a hotel with a pool.

Currently, there are no bathrooms or showers, but electric and water hookup is done. My electric wasn't on, so they either don't have it going yet, or that's for campers only. There are some wheels to act as fire pits and fire wood is free for now. That may change once the place is more established, but it was a nice bonus. I was able to work around the bathroom situation easily enough despite being there in a tent. The park/splash area right across the creek has a bathroom that's open during daylight hours, however the stench was worse than the need to go. I'm excited to see how much changes between this year and next. Looking forward to having a clean bathroom and somewhere to shower without having to pull strings. I'm giving a 4 star review just for the bathroom situation and fully expect to update it to 5 stars next year.

We stayed at a full hook up sight at the front of the campground where we personally enjoyed. Some great perks of the location of the campground is just across the bridge they are a splash pad and play ground for the kids. A short walk up the road you have our Mexican restaurant as well as a short drive you have save a lot and dollar store and the chicken hut and Dairy Queen if you want to make a food run. The owners are wonderful people with so much hospitality and kindness. They was always smiling and happy to help if they was needed. They sell firewood on site and working to grow the campground by adding a general store, primitive camping and cabins in the future to accommodate more campers. If you're looking for a nice getaway we recommend giving McKee Campground your business. And support a small business trying to make a difference for our county. We look forward to booking again soon.

Campground drive is narrow and tight for larger rigs. Check your campsite measurements as some are shorter than others. Crowded on the weekends but still not loud. Everyone seemed very friendly. We were there over the weekend and no issues. Great place to walk the dogs and unwind.

In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park!
