‼PC Beach is immediately and until further notice and testing - shut down! Per the Environmental Energy Cabinet of Kentucky and LCDHD‼ Just to update everyone. LCDHD reached out to me via email today and they had been requested by the EEC state department I was in contact with, to immediately shut the beach area down and conduct testing. We were heard. This has only been 3 days since I sent my email, after I had such an amazing and loud response. According to the email I received regarding recreational swimming areas from the state department who oversees to our HD: 902 KAR 10:120. Section 7 is the applicable portion to beaches and explains testing for E. coli. If this is indeed an area that has been sectioned off for swimming then plans need to be submitted to Public Safety Branch to start the process of getting an establishment number and routinely inspected. Why haven't we been testing this area? It was never filed. Oh and there are still people swimming all around it, but our focus was on the beach, I guess water stays in one area. Also our county told the Commonwealth Joirnal that due to stagnant water causing an overgrowth of bacteria that they were closing it. I'm not sure how I feel about that? read more

We found a beach area in the Burnside/Cumberland area! We were grateful to find an area to swim! We had a lot of fun here & the puppy just loved it! Pet & people friendly. Nice place. I gave it 4 stars because I think they could improve it a little with some upkeep and maybe invest in lounge chairs or other accommodations. Overall, it was a great day at the lake! Will be back and have recommended it to others! read more

Awesome camping / fire / BBQ / exercise / sight seeing place! If you are in Kentucky and you love camping, can´t go away without visiting this place, PULASKI is about 8 minutes drive from Somerset and have this beautiful down drive road that leads you like to this magic forest. Not crowded at all! perfect in any season, besides heavy winter or rain. Camping grounds all over the place and nice cabins to rent. Kayaks are allowed to have some river fun! bring your dogs, bikes and everything that have the "outdoors" on it. It´s a perfect place to do some BBQ, there are grills all over the place for you to have fun! definitively it´s a place where you can spend the whole weekend without worrying about a single thing. I don´t believe that there´s too much cellphone signal around here, but who needs it when you are in a place like this? Safe travels fam! read more

Spur of the moment camping trip while going boating at Lee's Ford Marina with family. Reservations were booked online which were simple but not recommended to do via a phone or tablet. Minimum two nights stay for most all sites. We rented a primitive tent site lake front ($19/night). It was perfect and shaded so we wouldn't be hot (if we were there during the day but weren't). We drove through and looked at the rest of the area towards the dock and beach. The docking area for boats is nice with a double ramp. Beside the boat ramp is a beach area where those who are camping or anyone else who just wants to come down and swim can. I highly recommend this camping area that is located on part of Lake Cumberland. We were out on the boat and anchored down near PC Park because it's not a crowded area on the lake here. Definitely a crowded area along the bank during the day where families would park and bring in kayaks, floats or also put in their jet skis. We will definitely be back and bring our kayaks to do a little fishing. read more

A great county park . They have camping and have cabins you can rent right on the lake , has boat launch , and lots to do there

On the plus side. Beautiful area. Nice website with pictures of the areas so you weren't choosing completely blind. Now to the negative. We paid ahead of time and were required to choose three nights as it was a holiday weekend. When we got there there was someone else in the area that should have been our campsite but nothing was marked so who knows. They had no reservation and didn't pay anything. Kept thinking someone from the office would have come through and verified but no. When I made the reservation I asked about water being available and was told oh sure. Wasn't told there is none in the primitive area and you must walk very far up the hill to a shelter. No fire pits or rings, make your own. Only a few grills available and some really rough picnic tables. Bath house is FAR from the primitive. And I mean really far. Port a pots are set up but were completely disgusting. Kids running wild. Dogs running wild. Constant parade of 10 year olds on golf carts trying to make them slide through the gravel until late at night. No posted quiet times. Loud music and cussing and drinking until very late. People coming in and out at all hours. A group next to us didn't arrive until 11:30 Friday night and they stayed up for a long while. Management was seen two times the entire weekend riding on a golf cart and saw a police car ride through two times both during the day. Could be a nice park with the addition of some common curtesy rules and management and more bathhouses and water areas. read more

This is a solid park. Nothing that really stands out from most parks I have been to but it is nice. Has disc golf, a place to camp and views of lake Cumberland, many parks, and the bathrooms are very typical of parks in Indy (mostly clean with one bathroom out of order.. Looks like they clean bathroom once a day). Why I went here was for the eagle trail bike and hiking trail. I am a serious runner so I figured I would have no problem running this.. Wrong. It's all deep inclines and declines and you feel like you are in the middle of gatlinburg mountains. There are bridges where I'm not sure if there even is a trail after it and a lot of hiking and wet stones with an incline. It is a gorgeous hiking and mountain biking trail. The only advice I can give is do not run, or hike alone there!!!!!! The park was filled with people so I figured I could run down there with a lot of people being on the trail. There was no one down there! No buildings, pure wilderness, no people at all. I actually stopped running because I truly felt like I was in the mountains all alone and I didn't want to attract any predators (or crazy drunk rednecks). I wish I woulda taken pictures because it was so serene but I was pretty freaked being all alone so I hope the pretty images stay in my mind for a long time! read more
