I previously purchased a car battery with a 2 year warranty that expired 13 days after I purchased it. It is what it is. I called to see if they had a replacement for me and Beth(?) told me she has one available. She did confirm my previous purchase when I called. I stopped down with my overgrown paperweight of an old battery and the Gentlemen there began helping me while Beth took a call. He looked for the battery and Beth, continued with her call and pointed out the battery to the gentleman who was helping me. Beth assisted him with the rest of my transaction while being so cool, professional and had an incredible personality to boot. Wow, what a great find this store was!! Being clueless about how many smoke detectors were installed in my security system, I had a battery failure on one & another the next week. Sigh.... The special batteries were purchased from my Security System company and installed by my neighbor. Much to my chagrin a third went out this week. Hoping to avoid a call from the monitoring company I found a picture of the batteries on my phone and stopped at Batteries Plus Bulbs on my way to work. Hurrah!! They had them in stock. Cracked Iphone Glass....They made it brand new!! Stupidly taking my iPhone SE out of the Otter Box for my runs since it wouldn't fit in my belt, resulted in....drop...crack......put it off for two weeks as cracks grew......drop again the next week.....chunk of glass gone and now sweat coming through to the exposed iPhone SE parts. Have been purchasing batteries from batteries and bulbs for years. Noticed a change in management and staff. Purchased a battery in March and it died after 6 months. Returned it and was told they had to check it out. Got a call from a staff person who said it was not eligible for warranty. I was told I had to read the fine print on the warranty. The ad said it was a one-year battery guarantee. Talk to the manager who was very dismissive. Had a similar experience with her when I was in the store when they were remodeling. I was able to get the batteries for all but one watch & I was told they would order from another store. The bulb size wasn't available but I was given a pack that was close & told how to determine if it could work or if he would need to try to order one. I will be going back to take care of the items. These people are dishonest. I purchased some emergency lights on the website. It offered a discount for buying 12 so I went ahead and ordered 12. The discount did not show up in the cart. I called the VB store and they said go ahead and purchase it and when you pick it up we will give you the discount. When i went in the refused to give me the discount. When I said i would cancel the order they would only give me 75 dollars back, claiming that was all that was paid. The batteries had never left the store. Warning post DO NOT BUY a car battery from batteries plus they include a warranty but their warranty is trash. You have to give them your car battery so they can test it for 24 hours so you are left with no battery which means no car. I had an issue with the battery last month took it to autozone they tested it said I had a bad battery (a dud) even though battery was fully charged it wasn't putting out the min voltage causing my car to just randomly shut off in motion and restart (very scary). Talked to dealership they said the same thing when I described the issue. Took it to batteries plus they couldn't do anything at the moment I would have to leave it overnight. They called me the next morning told me my battery was fine. Now fast forward a month later today I was getting a oil change they test the battery it tells them even worse results then autozone with output but still fully charged. Take it back to batteries plus and tell them I don't have time for your test that obviously is wrong give me a new one since I'm in warranty they tell me they can't they have to have it for 24 hour testing. Lesson learned I will never buy a car battery from them again could've paid the same amount for an auto zone one that the auto zone rep told me if they're batteries would've given them that reading after a quick 15 min test they would've immediately replaced it. Store manager didn't care wasn't helpful and didn't want to give me owners info until I threatened to have a lawyer contact them for a refund. I am SO VERY PLEASED with the service at this Batteries Plus Bulbs. My Dell laptop gave me messages that my battery was nearly dead and I needed a new one. I took the laptop in, and Carlos examined it and guided me in the battery ordering process, as these are not in stock, and then when it arrived, he installed it for me (whole laptop had to be opened with screwdriver and changed) and told me it would take 30-40 minutes to replace, so I shopped nearby but returned early and it was already done. He greeted me with success, opened my laptop to show me that the PC worked well now, then took time to show me the old, blistered battery which could have ignited or leaked, and gave me suggestions to avoid future issues, like not using while plugged in, using battery down to 10% before recharging, not leaving charger plugged in. He was very patient and pleasant and professional and made me feel very valued, and the price to put the new battery in was just as he promised, $40. I went out of my way to find a store that could program my key fob for my vehicle and found Batteries Plus Bulbs. I emailed the store manager, Derek Lewis on 5/7 for store #220 located on Virginia Beach Blvd to check the pricing of this service. I was told $60 and also advised the following directly from Derek: "Your car requires a factory pin code in order to bypass the security system. We can retrieve that code but need you to here to do so. Documents needed are registration and drivers i.d. to whom the vehicle belongs to." I went to the store today 5/9 for this service to be done only to be told by the store associate that they cannot retrieve the code because their program that enables them to obtain the codes expired. I mentioned that I had been emailing the site manager about it and the store associate stated the store doesn't email... Really???? This was 20 minutes of my day wasted. How do you as a store manager not know this information about the store you're "managing"? Also, the store associate suggested going to the dealership for the cherry on top. Duh! I know they can do this service for me but of course you have to have an appointment! I was willing to give $60 to Batteries Plus Bulbs for this service though. At first I was happy with the work they did when they replaced my screen and then sold me a screen protector that " takes the damage in replace of the phone screen" another charge for that. Then 2 days later my screen went black so I took it back because paper work said 90 day warranty! Sure enough they fixed it so to protect my phone I put the LIFEPROOF CASE BACK ON AND THE SCREEN PROTECTOR UNDERNEATH.... double protected right??? WRONG!!!!! Dropped my phone from the couch to the floor thought I had a dog hair between the case and phone so I took it apart and damage was much worse than I thought! Called company and they said that they were not going to honor 90 day warranty and wanted me to pay another $115.00 there warranty states they use used parts and that's why my screen went black. I have a watch fetish and adore collecting watches of all price ranges and descriptions. Always I have been enamored with time pieces - perhaps dating from my early years having had an amazing mother who was obsessed with arriving on time to every and all events! Since her passing in the early 90's, I have been collecting watches and taking great joy in thinking about how well I was raised. Wearing watches is a part of my daily existence, so needless to say I have many watches to choose from. When I took inventory of my watches, I discovered that many were not working. This is when I decided to go to Batteries Plus. I had been there once before and had been pleased so I decided to bring my 12 watches there for service. Upon entering the building I was greeted by friendly staff who took excellent care of my needs. I left the watches and returned in a day or so to pick them up. Much to my surprise I discovered my 14K gold Vicence had a cracked bezel. The staff was horrified that they had not looked more carefully at the crystal on the initial visit and also that they had not noticed it was a 14 K gold watch. Most companies will not work on expensive watches for just this very reason. Finding jewelers who are able to replace cracked bezels is nearly impossible and the expense involved can be quite costly too. They trusted that I was honest and took me at my word, searched high and low to find a local jeweler who could repair the watch. When they realized this was not going to happen, they offered to make restitution on the watch. After contacting QVC and finding the cost of the watch in today's current market I couldn't fathom asking for them to replace it. QVC gave me the name of the importer and noted that they could replace the bezel for around $35.00 plus shipping and handling. Batteries Plus was delighted knowing the watch could be fixed just like new and for a lot less than they anticipated. The manager, Mike, took it upon himself to ship out the watch and called me immediately when it returned. The entire process took a little over two months, but in the end both parties were satisfied. If every you need a battery of any type please look no further than this establishment. The staff at Batteries Plus are professional, personable and extremely reliable! They are knowledgeable and prices are quite reasonable. Just make sure to tell them that I recommended you go there. I can never thank them enough for a job well done for me! Not only did this company stand by their word, but they went out of their way to provide me with a new crystal that they inadvertently cracked when replacing a battery on my 14K watch. My Samsung Galaxy S5 began to leak the color purple on my screen. It was as if I had drawn on the screen with a sharpie. Within just 30 minutes, it got significantly worse. I researched the problem, and read that it's an issue with the LCD and I would need to have the screen replaced. I contacted this store and they said the exact same thing. They quoted me $119. While on vacaction in Virginia Beach, I brought my iPad to this store to get the glass replaced. They offered a six month warranty, and I figured that if it wasn't repaired correctly, I could bring it back on my next visit. Well, it wasn't, and I live in Texas.... so.... when I realized it had a nationwide 6 month warranty, I brought it to my local Batteries plus, since I wasn't going to VB within the time frame. My local franchise sent it to corporate to be repaired correctly, and corporate deemed it unrepairable because the home button was literally slashed during installation and it was not sealed, causing dust to be under the screen as well. When my local franchise called the VB store, they denied the claim, and the manager Derrick, was pretty rude about the whole thing. Luckily, my local BPB was SUPER helpful. He explained to me what had happened during the first "repair", and how we could resolve it. After a call by me to corporate, and my local guys help, they are replacing my iPad with a used, but working iPad. I guess it goes to show that franchises are only as good as the management and employees. Don't buy your lawn mower battery from them. I can't even tell you how disappointed I am. Last year on 4/21/2018 I purchased a lawn mower battery from Batteries Plus Bulbs. They have me in their system. One year later and the battery doesn't work. I had my lawn mower serviced and the battery would not hold a charge. The battery cost me over $100. They won't do anything other than charge it again and see if it will hold a charge. Which I already know it won't. Update just got back from Walmart. Under $30 with a $12 core fee. I wish I would have known about Walmart last year. I have had a really poor experience here and have heard from others who experienced the same. I brought my phone to apple for a charge port issue and they do not repair charge ports but ran a diagnostic indicating nothing else was wrong with the phone. Brought it into Batteries plus and they repaired it. A few days later there were issues with the phone charging to the point where it was not charging again. Brought it back and they were not consistent with the times they told me it would be ready. Wasted a lot of time. They eventually told me they would need to order new parts. At this point had to come back to get it. When the phone was returned to me again the vibration was not working. Left it with them to be repaired and despite leaving the phone with them I spoke with the manager and he told me nothing else would be done and accused me of lying. Very bad experience. Phone is now in worse shape then when I gave it to them initially and had to go to the shop multiple times. read more
