My concussion and carpal tunnel weren't playing nice. My condo had a smoke detector near the laundry room, but nothing near the kitcher, so, a couple years ago, I installed a LifeAlert smoke detector/CO2 unit near my kitchen door. This morning, at 3AM, the battery decided it was DONE, so the unit started beeping. I didn't want to accidently set it off and wake up my neighbors, so I put in earplugs. When I got up, I tried to replace the battery myself, the youtube video worked, but not the audio. I managed to replace it, but it still beeped. I was going nuts! Then I remembered MY BatteriesPlus down the road, got in my car, and headed there. I was greeted by Tracy, he listened to my peril, opened up the unit, and saw that the new battery I put in was not strong enough (he was technical, but I don't remember the numbers). I never thought of that, thought a 9V was a 9V. He showed me the two pack he had, I told him "to go for it." Tracy put it in the unit, it did its thing, and tested fine. He taped the little DO NOT LOSE pin to the back of the unit so I wouldn't lose it before it could be snapped into the backing. It's back on my wall and my battery for next time is labeled for the detector's use only. The level of service that I received was excellent from start to finish. I made a same day appointment on a Sunday in the late afternoon and was called as a reminder of what to expect, greeted when I arrived even in a busy store (which is not common these days), and each step was communicated with me. There were two employees there that handled each customer with the same care and sense of urgency. I appreciate that level of service. Hello all, I want to share a disappointing experience I recently had at Batteries +Bulbs while helping my 94-year-old father replace the battery in his Timex watch. My father has a battery plan with the store, and we've always appreciated the convenience it offers. Early this morning, my dad noticed his watch was no longer keeping the correct time, so we suspected the battery needed replacement. Upon entering the store, we were greeted nicely, but things quickly took a negative turn. Another employee, Evin, took the watch after I explained the problem. After a couple of minutes, he returned and told us nothing was wrong since the watch was ticking and displaying the correct time. I clarified that my father had corrected the time himself earlier that morning, and we asked if he could check the battery strength. Evin took the watch away again and returned without any explanation. I had to specifically ask him what the issue was, at which point he finally confirmed the battery was indeed weak. Throughout this entire interaction, his demeanor was curt and unfriendly--far from the level of service one would expect, especially when assisting a senior. When my father tried to provide his identifying information, Evin interrupted abruptly and told my dad he had to sign into the computer, delivering his instructions in a rude manner. I understand that technology can be frustrating, but there is certainly a kinder way to communicate, especially with elderly customers. While we are still satisfied with the watch battery program itself, this experience left us feeling disrespected. Customer service truly matters, and today it fell far short of our expectations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and emphasizes the importance of patience and courtesy when assisting all customers--especially those who may need a little extra help. My most recent visit I had a great experience. I had called ahead to make sure they had the battery to replace the battery in my work UPS battery backup system that had died. They did, and they quoted a priced that seemed reasonable, so I stopped by on my way home. The two men working here were friendly, efficient, and most of all, quick. They had my battery swapped out in no time, and I love that they also checked to make sure it was really working before sending me on my way. While they were working on it, they also told me all the other services they provided, which was very useful information. They also told me about a deal they were having to replace windshield wipers for $20, and how could I refuse? That too was completed quickly and effortlessly. When work was done, one of the men carried my clunky backup to my car, which was above and beyond, I thought. They sent a mail the next day, asking "how likely am I to recommend Batteries Plus". I gave them a 7, because even though prices were reasonable during my visit, as a rule I think their prices run high. The next day I received a phone call at work, asking if I could possible change my rating since everything went well, and honestly, this I did NOT love - thus 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I bought two 6 ft. Lightning charging cords, from Batteries Plus, total came to alm $ 60.00. 3 months later one of the overpriced charging cords failed, shocking my wife and burning into two pieces. No type of warranty, no concern about failure of the cord. Just you had if for 3.5 months. Not our problem. I could have gotten better service at Wallyworld for $40. read more

I have used them for a range of battery needs. However, this is the first time for an auto battery (Duracell battery). The battery I bought was installed in my car with only 5000 miles on it. It failed after only a few months wouldn't take or hold a charge. They tested it overnight and determined what I said, the battery was defective. Went back and they gave me a replacement battery. It just produce a ticking, but not enough power to start. Brought it back. The counter person said it couldn't be their batteries that were bad, it must be my car's electrical system. Mind you, new car. I got frustrated with them after 4 trips to their store with no resolution and went to another store and bought a Die Hard battery. It started the car immediately with no difficulty. Their auto batteries are of poor quality. Go to an auto parts store for your car battery needs. Not to mention the unhelpful attitude of their store personnel. read more

I simply needed a new battery and now I'm dealing with a nightmare. During the battery replacement They severed the wire to my iPhone and I had to wait 24 hours for that to be repaired. After that my iPhone started turning itself off and rebooting when ever it wanted to. And now I'm waiting for an appointment with Apple to have it fixed. What a pain in the ass they have created for me. Do not! I repeat! Do not let them touch your phone. They have no idea what they are doing. So I was given a DSLR camera and the only thing I needed to get was a battery. I wasn't sure where to get one or how much it was going to be. I figured I was looking at about $50+ then I remembered about Batteries Plus. It was during the week about 20 mins before they closed. I called up and a guy answered I told him the camera I had and that I needed a battery. He was extremely helpful. I told him I was right around the corner and I was coming by. They have helpful employees who can enthusiastically guide you in finding the appropriate autoparts. Not only that, they also have almost any car related stuff you'll ever need in stock. I came in to get my broken car key/fob fixed and they were really helpful and answered any questions I had. (Replacing car key/fob is their specialty) they do a great job with car battery services too--so I've heard. Lastly y'all should come here because it's affordable. As I approached the doors the salesman was holding the door open for an elderly lady with a walker wishing her a Happy Thanksgiving... I knew this was the man to talk to. Gavin pulled up the list of batteries for my car and helped me pick the one I wanted. Then in under a minute had the battery out at my car ready to install which he did expertly, cleaning the terminals better than I would have had I done it myself! I got ripped off on a lawn mower battery. Took in my old one to be tested, as my mower wouldn't start. The guy said "it's only charging at 12.5%." He said I could leave it overnight to be charged for $12, but if it didn't charge, I'd still need a new one. I bought a new battery, and installed it. Mower still wouldn't start. Mechanic looked at mower, and checked new battery -- which was charging at 12.5%! There was nothing wrong with my old battery, and it was fully charged, yet Dave proceeded to sell me a new one for $53, pretending that the 12.5% was low. He also said batteries in FL only last for 2 - 3 years. Mine was 2 years old, but fine. Do your homework before going to this place. read more

I showed up last minute (7:20 they close at 8) needing an emergency screen repair for my silly wife's iPhone 6. There was an extremely knowledgeable sales associate named Gavin who greeted me at the door. I had scheduled online and it said they only had the black replacement (the phone was white) I was willing to settle but my man Gavin went out of his way to check in the back and found a white replacement! I apologized for making him rush or stay late to get it done and he said no worries I'll have it done in 20 minutes making it 7:45. THIS GUY DID IT IN 18 minutes! I kid you not he handed me the phone at 7:43 working like the new! I was in disbelief and had to peek in the back to make sure there wasn't an Asian man with tiny hands that he was taking the credit from. Not another soul in the store to assist with my repair. I needed to replace the battery in my keyless fob and figured I'd save a trip to the dealership. They replaced it for a reasonable price and offered free lifetime replacement for an added fee. I took them up on it. The battery they put in lasted LESS than 4 month! It just ran out. I went back & they replaced it (per the lifetime replacement), but won't guarantee it dies in another 4 months! Really?!? The original dealership battery lasts years & their replacement lasts 4 month. They obviously use low grade or used batteries & sell them as new. read more

I was stupid enough to drop my iPhone 6+ on the edge of a glass coffee table late Sunday evening, and after searching for someone who could replace the broken glass on the iPhone, found these guys. I called and the gentleman told me that while they could not do the repair that night as there was no technician working, but that I could bring the phone in at 8:00 AM this morning and it would be fixed in a couple hours. I didn't get there till about 8:30, and the young man working there had my busted up iPhone fixed "good as new" in about 30 minutes. They charged me $129.00 to do the repair, and I couldn't be happier. I can't recommend these guys highly enough for glass replacement on the iPhone. Well Done Guys! read more

This place was a nice, positive surprise for me. My daughter needed to have her dead iPod fixed for school this upcoming fall. It went dead after she had dropped it in water and I knew it would probably be virtually impossible to fix it. Alan, the employee who worked with my daughter & I, tried putting in a new battery, then he tried to fix it with an Apple ios program. Then after that did not fix the issue (the water had destroyed all of the components of my daughter's iPod), he didn't even charge me for the opened battery that he had to solder on and then back off my daughter's iPod, he did not charge me for the iPod new battery he took out of its container to try and fix it. All of the employees were courteous, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Plus, they have awesome flashlights, batteries, etc. in their store that are so reasonably priced. I highly recommend this store for any ios or Android repairs, plus hurricane battery/lighting supplies as well. read more
