First to say I am not a review guy. I went here because my wife's car had an issue starting. I jumped it and brought it in. They changed the battery and it took me over two and a half hours to get the battery changed. I had the battery changed and my wife called me concerned because she had our two daughters in the car and she was driving down the street and the car stopped. This was one day after the battery was changed. The very next day we brought it to the jeep dealership where we bought the car and they said "we thought we have seen it all but this one takes the cake". They took a video and it is attached to this review - there is clear error in installation. I will post this video below. Here is the problem. I called them and admittedly it took me a while as I travel for work. They then took their sweet time not getting back to me with every excuse in the world. I want to be clear I asked for my money and I told them more importantly this kid is Going to hurt someone. My wife was in the middle of the street. I spoke to the manager who told me he would look into it. After getting back to me he said there was nothing they can do. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR FAMILY SAFE. after discussion with the manager he pointed out how I took too long to get back to them. He ignored the video. And told me with his employee told me that he was fixing it in a different way. In reality the Young man told me he had trouble loosening the nuts on my battery. To protect yourself and your family DO NOT go to this place. Frank - you asked me to reach out, I should have been more clear. I did that. Got the run around. Spoke to Anthony who was the regional manager and he told me there was nothing he could do. Bad business. Way to stand by your services. read more

I love the fact that I can come in and get a battery replaced on the remote for my car without paying exhorbitant dealer prices. For a couple bucks extra, get the lifetime replaced and never pay for another battery after the first! Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. read more

I brought in my Wenger (Swiss army) watch to get battery replaced. I asked them if they can replace it since it is a factory seal to make it waterproof. The guy said he can and said they will get the rubber backing back on it to keep it water proof. Took it back home and did some cleaning and just washed dishes. The battery on my mower died, so I made the trip here to get a new one. The person who helped me was Jonathan. He found the battery I needed and I bought it. Knowing that my sump backup battery needed replacement, I got to talk with Jonathan about what I needed, and he showed me what would work for me. I came back the next day with the sump battery to do the core exchange for the new one. Jonathan came out to my car to get the old battery and carry it in for me. He also carried out the new battery to my car. In case you've never lifted a sump backup battery, let me tell you they are super heavy, not like a car battery. I appreciated his effort and his customer service to go 5 stars. read more

Spent almost 2 hours getting a car battery replaced. Scheduled, yet have to sit here and wait for him to tend walk in customers. Then he breaks a plug for my car battery, and says he's not authorized for replacement... Then when we program the computer, he could not do it and said come back tomorrow when the managers here. Terribly slow and could not do a simple battery replacement... not to mention they use hand crank wrenches for everything. Ever heard of a drill??? This place should not exist. read more

Awful service and the staff could not be worse, the owner will get involved when they get a bad review. Please stay away from this business. THey are masters of nothing but dabllers in everything. I came in with a perfectly working phone and a cracked screen and Jerimiah the bearded manager, who after a 4 day weekend (after being called in twice by the staff) wrecked my perfectly good Iphone. So he did fix the screen but in the process I can NO LONGER MADE PHONE CALLS. They refunded me for the repaired glass. So eesentially I came into Batteries Plus with (not even that bad of crackjed glass) and they repaired it but my phone when I put it to my ear will power off and go dark...I am told it is the proximity sensor but that does me NO GOOD. So, i told Frank M the owner twice and JErimiah should take a classs in custoemr service and ettiqutee. I would NOT recommend this business and I further more would NOT recommend BATTERIES PLUS as a whole That isb why Autozone exists. I came in with cracked screen, screen was repaied but phone no longer works to make provate phone calls (only speaaker phone calls) and this was suffuicent and more then fair to them. I will be taking them to small claims court. People know you have a choice. Sue them if you know they are in the wrong. read more

I have never met a ruder staff than your Glen Ellyn location. This is the 3rd time I've called to have screen ordered for the store for repair and as I'm explaining this 3 times I have been cut off with "WHAT DO YOU WANT." This in and of itself is whatever, the first two times I didn't have the patience to continue the call starting out like that. Today 5/7/24 After that initial "greeting" I am placed on hold, the hold answered 5 minutes later as if it's a new call..I replied with "I was on hold" and given attitude like I am harassing them and that they're trying to do 20 things at once and asked to hold again. I do so, he returns a few minutes later explaining the battery is not in stock and he would need to special order it and my best bet is to get a new phone. I explain I am not looking for a battery but a phone screen repair, and he proceeds to reiterate that my best bet is to get a new phone. I explain "I do not want a new phone, I would like the screen repaired, can you do that?" I was then hung up on. I am utterly disgusted with the customer service I've received at every interaction at your store with the exception of the associate that finally repaired the phone screen the last time. B+ I highly suggest you start recording the associate's interactions with what would be customers and re-train the employees on service. read more

Vince Trombetta is a life saver. I brought my wifes IphoneSE for a warranty repair on a defective screen that was installed at this location 2 days prior and he put the new screen on within 10 minutes while I waited. If you live in the area and don't have time to drive all the way to the Apple store in Oak Brook or Naperville then I would highly recommend you come to this location to have your phone fixed. I now know that there's really no reason to go to this store with the mass availability of their merchandise available online on many sites or at any hardware store or even auto parts store. The level of service you get at this store is the same that you would get online too. Zero. I came in to buy a motorcycle battery. Chris, the asst manager suggested we test it, and the charger I had been using. If my battery checked out fine I would not need to buy a battery. Instead, I might have an issue with my charger. Chris checked it all out for free, no obligation. While the battery did check out bad, he also took the time to check my trickle charger which checked out ok. All Chris had to do was sell me a battery when I walked in, instead, he went the extra mile and made sure that was what I needed along with testing my personal equipment. I needed a replacement battery for my camcorder. I went on the BatteriesPlus website and cross-referenced the camcorder model number and replacement battery part number. The website offered an option to shop a nearby store location. I didn't realize that a BatteriesPlus store opened near my work. I called the newly opened Glen Ellyn store, ordered the battery and was told that it should be in the following Thursday. Like clockwork, I received a call that Thursday that my order had arrived. I went to the store to pick up the battery and asked the newly hired sales associate if they had an AC charger for the battery. A different tech came over and asked me for the camcorder model number and, of course, I left my notes at home. No problems - they cross-referenced the original manufacturer battery part number and identified an aftermarket charger. They even plugged the battery into the charger to make sure they were compatible before selling it to me. A very clean and tidy store with attentive people and great service! read more

Very friendly. They replaced the battery for my watch in 3 or 4 minutes. It was inexpensive at the normal price and they honored the online coupon though I didn't have a printout of it. They even set the time on my watch when they were done. The only weird thing is that the location of the lot and main entrance are behind the building. Had read other positive reviews so I went here to get a watch battery replaced. Colton was there and was able to replace my watch battery while I waited (5 min) and also adjusted the time on my watch when he was done! He also helped me select batteries and a flashlight since the previous day my electricity had gone out. Parking was easy- just behind the store. This was not a good experience. Made an appt for Saturday at 10 a.m. Got a phone call asking to change it until noon, not convenient but OK since they said it would take 5 min to fix the battery in an otherwise fine Iphone. Got there at noon and they said it would be at least 45 min. The only guy who could fix it was at the register helping whoever walked in the door and the other two employees were in back. I asked if maybe one of them could come to the register since we were now pretty far behind in our day and we had the appt. Nice enough guy fixes the battery and brings it out, we pay and then realize the home button no longer works. The fix-it guy doesn't have a new home button so he can't try to repair it, we can't see or talk to the manager except during the middle of the business day Monday. So: Entered store with 1 fully working phone with a battery that drained fast trying to avoid buying a new phone. After 8 phone calls and a couple of lost hours left store with damaged phone with a fake home button on the screen as a temp fix and more hours to come arguing with the manager. I can't suggest using this business. On the other hand they popped a new battery in my garage door remote really quick...but not really enough to feel better about this experience. read more

I own a hair salon in Chicago and have had a Wella cordless neck trimmer that I absolutely love, however the charge started to fail. I called the company and they told me they no longer carry that battery. A brother of a friend of mine who is a UPS driver for Batteries Plus talked to them about it and sure enough they not only carried it these guys took the time to put it in. I went in there about an hour ago because someone gave my daughter a small ride on toy, but the battery was dead. The salesperson took the time to get a power tool, remove the seat, remove and test the battery, and then look for a replacement. When they realized they did not carry the replacement (only the manufacture carries it), he went online and found the contact information and wrote it down for me along with the model number, even though they knew I would not buy anything. I went to batteries plus at 7:15 for a battery for my 2002 passat. Justin was there by himself and despite the fact they don't normally install batteries after 5pm when they are single staffed he agreed to install my battery for me. Because I have a vw and he had to man the shop while he installed my very difficult to remove and install battery, it took him till quarter till 9 to finish despite the fact they closed at 8pm. He was also very friendly and polite and didn't complain about me having to hold my hood up the whole time because my hydraulic didn't work. Justin is working at batteries plus while he pursues a degree. I would send anybody there as this is probably the best customer service I've experienced in years. read more

Needed my iPhone 5 battery replaced a month or so age. Scheduled an appt for the Glen Ellyn store. Shortly after I got there they sent me to the Villa Park store as they did not have the battery in stock. (ok--one of the most common phones--think they would make sure they had sufficient stock). When I got to Villa Park they had only one person working. (this was a Saturday morning. Busiest time of the week for most retail places--think they would have sufficient staff). Since he was so busy I had to leave the phone and come back 30 to 45 minutes later. Before it was done, what should have taken 15 minutes took 1/2 my Saturday morning. On Jan 2 2017 I went back to the Glen Ellyn store as I needed to replace a circular fluorescent bulb for a light fixture. The young man told me they don't stock it but can order one. He checked the computer and placed the order. Just as he was completing it the computer said it was discontinued. He said he would need to call someone and see if any can be obtained. Since it was the holiday he was unable to call then. He took by name and number and said he would call me the next day. Today is Jan 7, 2017...and have never heard from them. Based on these 2 experience--would never use this place again. read more
