I told her not with that attitude, I will take my money somewhere else. People like this should not be in the customer service industry. I had only been here once before and this visit was to get a cord for my phone charger. Sure, I could've gone to AT&T - but they'd want to sell me a whole new phone, internet service, land lines and anything else they could dream of to make more than a buck or so on a charging cord. No thanks - came to B plus B to keep it simple! And boy was it!!! I walked in and showed the salesperson what I needed. He said, I've got ya covered... walked over to a drawer pulled out a cord that was the same as mine, but black rather than white and said "here". I said, "what do I owe you" and he told me not to worry about it. A 180 degree difference than what I would have experienced at AT&T. He might not have made a sale, but I will return to that store for any reason I can think of when I'm looking for batteries, bulbs and the like! read more

Worst phone screen replacement experience.I never got my phone fixed even though I went twice with appointment. No communication they made me go to the appointment twice when there is no equipment to fix my phone, even though I confirmed the appt. They never called to communicate not to even waste my time going. They could care less . Never experienced something like this. read more

I went to purchase just a couple bulbs, found that easily enough. Go to the register, guy is talking on phone to someone, doesn't acknowledge my presence even. Waiting waiting... 15 minutes go by he's still talking on phone as I wait. Two other customers had come in and began to wait but gave up and left. The people who work are very nice. However, the service itself is poor. I foolishly cracked my screen and my warranty had this place list as a repair location. I called to confirm and check they had my screen in stock. I was assured they would accept my warranty info and had the screen in stock. Without the warranty I was quoted a replacement cost if $230. I drop my phone off and they tell me it'll take 2 hours. I wish they had told me that when I called initially, but I had no choice but to wait. I finally get my phone back and the screen is dimpled. The new screen has a noticable bubble. I called twice to ask bout the issue and leave a message, but no one calls me back. I grow tired of waiting for a phone call, so I take the phone back. The same associate, Eric, is there and tells me the dimple is because the screen is so thin but he'll try again. 2 hours later I get my phone pack for the second time and no dimples! However, after the 2nd repair my pressure sensor doesn't work so I can't unlock my phone. They do not test quality of repairs before giving you your phone. I notice immediately and ask them to fix it again and it takes another 2 hours. The third time there is a small dimple and my pressure sensor continues to have issues. I got my insurance to authorize a other repair location. If you want your phone fixed correctly, don't go here. If you don't care about your time or repair quality , they have great business hours. read more

Here's the deal. I am a little sister so I have spent most of life being punked, pushed around and told what to do. I did not like it as a kid, but at this age, it is no big deal. I am used to it. So when my big brother told me his watch stopped working and he needed to get it fixed before he left town, I drove over picked it up and brought it to my go to place only to learn then did not have a 2430 Sony 3V battery and it would take a week to get it. Lucky for me, the folks suggested calling around for one, so I did. The representative who answered, checked and confirmed it was in stock. I drove over, picked it up and received service with a smile. A1 service in my book. In my brief visit, I also noticed they sold everything from car chargers to windshield wiper replacements and of course, light bulbs. I left thinking I absolutely must spend some perusing the store sometime to see what else is in store. Being a gopher afforded me the opportunity to discover BPB and I am so glad I did. read more

Called a few B+B and this was the onyl one that would do a battery install after 5pm. The staff here are about as nice and professional as it gets. got there he pulled up my online order which FYI saved me 30$ with coupon they provided. took him no more than 20 min to install and check the battery all with a smile and some friendly banter. To top it off they actually called me the next day just to check on how it was and to remind me that it came with a 3 year warranty. Buyers be aware, scamming people with bad product. Car battery purchased in April 2022 with warranty. After 11 months battery would no longer hold charge and repeated died. Took battery to batteries+ where it was purchased from, for repair/replacement and was told the battery wasn't "maintained" nor "maintenanced" correctly and batteries+ would NOT honor warranty. Batteries+ is selling defective batteries and NOT warranting them when customers comes in for replacement. But instead using bad business practices of blaming customer for something that is false, Never have I had to perform maintenance on a car battery other than installing it and using it.. Even after discussing with an auto mechanic and car dealership I was informed there is no such maintenance to do on batteries. Car batteries either work or they don't, thus a warranty. Not only don't we have a battery but the money for the battery has not been returned neither. Instead Battery+ has offered a 10% discount on another battery that is sitting on the shelve, NOT being "maintained." They are using confusing words such as "maintained" to scam customers out of more money for bad products. read more

Called this store and super nice guy said he was sold out those type because others needed them for their thermometers but...there was another number battery that would work. I asked how he knew that he replied " experience ". Invited me to bring my thermometer to test it. Drove there and worth the trip. No up-charge which I expected. Perfect. Experience is a good thing. I made an appointment (they're half hour in length) for an iPhone replacement battery. When I arrived, the employee ask me to leave the phone and return in about an hour and a half. I was surprised and said that I had an appointment! He explained that he was alone in the store so would do his best but would also have to take care of customers. I agreed with that. It's not his fault! He was as efficient as he could be, and educated me on how to extend the life of a phone battery. I'm sorry that I don't know his name but I really appreciated his service. I saw a folding chair and asked if I could unfold it and use it to wait; this isn't really a walk in and wait atmosphere. But I walked out in about a half hour with a new battery and was thrilled! read more

The location closer to my home did not have what I needed in stock, so I ordered one online and drove out to Oak Park to pick it up. When I got there, the battery I ordered, was not in fact in stock, but I was able to get a much better battery for the same price. I was then given some good advice on topping it off before installation, and I was in and out of there in just a few minutes. I don't know anything about electronics, hardware, etc., so I often feel uncomfortable and intimidated when I shop for them. That's why I appreciated the gentleman who waited on me last evening. I showed him the strange little bulb I needed to replace for the ceiling fan in the den and he was on it. He was helpful and respectful and in no way made me feel dumb. (I wish I could give him a shout-out, but his name doesn't appear on the receipt.) This is the second time I've turned to this chain of stores -- the first time was when I was on vacation and my phone crapped out. The concierge at the hotel sent me to their Las Vegas location and I got wonderful service then, too. I'm so grateful these stores are out there when I need them! read more

Horrible service... I would never go back to this place ever again. I went here originally to fix a cracked screen on my I phone, they fixed it but later on the touch screen stopped working. Went back to them and they said it had to be replaced again so I left my phone with them, just to get a call an hour or two later from them saying that somehow they broke the home screen button on my IPhone. They said my iPhone was not repairable so they had to order a new one.. (or refurbished one) and the guy that called me said I was going to be able to keep my existing phone, as well as the one that they were going to provide for me. Today I went to Batteries Plus to pick up my phone just to have the manager tell my I had release my phone to them in order for them to give me the new one.. that wasn't what they had said prior. Needless to say the manager was rude and unapologetic. I didn't get a new phone and my current phone is still not working properly. If you need to have your phone screen replaced, I would recommend to look somewhere else. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. read more

$700+ phone jerk of a cell phone company with minimal positive customer service cost of insurance claim pretty high almost done with lease options limited. Looking for a sign from the Heavens to help me! Walking out of coffee establishment glanced to my right saw a sign with a cracked iPhone screen. Rays of sunlight shone on the sign and I swear if listened closely over the sound honking horns I heard angels singing. I asked a young gentleman about the sign he politely told me the other services they offered. I was flabbergasted. His voice was like sweet honey on a hot summer day. He told me exactly what I wanted to hear in my predicament. I later on set the appointment via online. Oh snaps 10% off my appointment online??? I'm glad I'm a Catholic because this is solidifying my faith in the Man upstairs. I go to my appointment a little early because I'm desperate and thirsty to be frank. The same young gentleman greeted me warmly like St. Pete at the Golden Gates said no problem hour and a half we will get it done. I set a timer for literally hour and a half. The gentlemen called me in that time frame and said your phones done. I was so happy when I got the phone back. I almost wanted to hug him. But I was like "No. We gotta keep this professional". The cost was extremely cost effective and surprising because I thought this place only did bulbs and batteries. No issues with the work still functioning. I had the same experience as Mary Ann when my Volkswagen Eos car key stopped working. I was hoping it just needed a new battery. Not only was I also out of there in 5 minutes, but the person who helped me even went online and found me a coupon, so I got a great deal (especially compared to what I would have paid at the dealer). 6-9-18 Brought my iPhone 6S+ to have the back camera replaced for about $90 bucks. The piece came in during the week. I met Rarmiro, who was very pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable (so are Eric, John and Jeff). He promised to have the phone repaired within an hour. Being witness to a big accident on North & Neva, I got involved with that and returned to the store about 2 hrs later. Ramiro indicated that there was "water damage" to some of the electrical components inside the camera, and thus, the part they had ordered, did not function when it was installed. I thought I'd be charged the $90 bucks for all that work, but NOPE! I was so happy with Ramiro's honesty and most of all the "no fee" for today's service, that as I was leaving the store, I asked Ramiro if they had a battery for a Nikon S-4300 P&S camera. I was impressed that Ramiro found the replacement immediately. It was a bit costly, $29 (minus a 10% discount w/ the in-store 10% offer) but as one of my patients used to say, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR." How true. I'm sure if I have issues with the battery, they will try to find a happy medium to resolve any issue. I also have to say that they have opened my iPhone 6S+ probably 3 times now, for different things, and so far, everything has worked as it should. Initially, when I brought the phone for a fractured screen, we didn't have the code to unlock the phone and check the applications (especially the camera in my case). With this said, the phone was closed back up and when I did find out the code, I discovered that the SELFIE camera didn't work (there was no way for them to test it either); since it was part of the screen, the Selfie camera was replaced at no cost to me... this made it the second time the phone was opened. It was just until today, the 3rd time dropping off the phone, that I was told about the water damage inside the phone (which I wish they would have told me earlier -- the only BUT you'll hear from me), because it would have spared me so much time going back and forth. However, it was a very pleasant experience meeting all the staff at B&B, because they definitely make you feel welcome; they deal with your B&B issues in a caring way. I highly recommend anyone going here for batteries, bulbs, and phone service (somewhat limited service, but there's only so much you can do with iPhones; you can't add memory :(( ). WOW, I would give more stars if I could. I've talked with the guys at Batteries Plus over the phone a few times and they are always extremely nice, but I still couldn't have predicted the service I got today. My car battery died about a week ago. I don't know many people in Chicago who have cars so I didn't have anyone to give me a jump. Jeff at Batteries Plus gave me a jump starter to take back to my car so I could drive it in. Unfortunately, my battery was so shot that it didn't work and I had to get towed. I was worried I wouldn't make it there with enough time before they closed, but Jeff said he would stay later if need be. The warranty on my batter was through a Batteries Plus in St. Louis and in order to verify it, they would have to call the STL store, however, they were already closed for the evening. Jeff honored my warranty with just my word that I had purchased it less than two years ago. And since they were out of my exact type of battery, he gave me an upgrade with no additional charge. I cannot speak highly enough of Jeff's service and Batteries Plus. read more

I live nearby. I went there about five times looking for specific button batteries for my watches or vintage cameras. Every time they were out of stock. They said they will order the battery for me and asked me to come back in two days. When I did, they didn't have the battery or even a track of my order. The clerk (tall pale guy) is so calm and relaxed like just came back from a meditation class. He doesn't seem to be worry that his customers leaving with no purchase. When they can't find common batteries in this store, many items are constantly out of stock (empty shelves in button battery dept), the clerk can't answer basic questions about their merchandise, the store is unreliable and waste of time. It most likely doesn't generate any profit. Today my 675 batteries I purchased in Walgreens because Batteries+ currently were out of stock. Next time I'll go straight to Walgreens. Batteries Plus becoming Radio Shack. Will be out of business pretty soon. read more
