Day 1: I shattered the glass on my cell phone. I use it for work, and it had to be repaired quickly. I called around a few other places, and no one had the glass screen I needed. When I called here, they also said they did not have it, but that they could overnight the screen and have it repaired next day. The other quotes I got were 3-5 days, so I happily came in and pre-paid. The person who took my payment told me to come in tomorrow morning at 8:30 to drop off my phone. Day 2: I came in the next morning to drop my phone off, and the person that day seemed confused about why I was there. He asked if they had called me to tell me the screen was there. (They did not.) I told him that the person who took my payment told me to drop it off today. He ended up taking my phone. They then contacted me that afternoon and told me it would not be ready today because the shipping company had not dropped the parts off yet. (Why if it was paid to be overnighted there?) They said I could pick it up the next day at 8:30 and they would have it ready. Day 3: Welp. It wasn't ready on day 3 either. They said they could not give me an exact time on when the screen would be shipped to the store. I feel like they oversold me to try to get me into the store, and I decided to pick up my phone and take it somewhere else for repair. My wife took in two vehicles (one 1986 Bigfoot Power Wheels and an H2 Little Tikes) a few weeks back. They set her up with a battery for the H2, great price, and we had it running immediately. We left the Bigfoot for a recall dating back to the late 1990s and they completed this service, replaced a rocker switch, and got us two new batteries. The team is knowledgeable, their prices are great (better than I found online, including Amazon and others), and they were a Power Wheels service center. Without this recall service, which was free and saved me a lot of time, I would have had to rewire the Bigfoot to get it to accept modern batteries. read more

Dishonest. Brought in a car key to replace a battery. When I got the key back and tried to open the car with it, it did not work. They checked it and confirmed that it did not open - but could close - and this is the only thing they had checked (!?). They refused to give me an (even partial) refund claiming that the battery was likely to be good, and this was the problem with the key. Even if this was true, their entire attitude was unfriendly and even hostile and they either lied to me, or they indeed only check if the car can close, which would be laughable. read more

Excellent service and a great selection of anything related to batteries or bulbs; they have it all! Including a motorcycle battery for my 1987 Kawasaki Vulcan 454. I ordered it online and they activated the battery and pre-charged it for me so that it was all ready to go by the time I came to pick up my battery. But later that day, the battery fell over sideways and I wasn't aware of it and the battery proceeded to spill out it's water/acid mixture. That meant that I couldn't install it into my bike because I don't have a charger; no big deal, they cleaned the battery up and refilled it and then recharged it for me, and then called me when it was ready. The staff is all very knowledgeable and very helpful and quite friendly as well. I have been impressed with all of my dealings with this location of Batteries Plus on Packard rd in Ann Arbor. I totally love this store! It's one of those stores that you always want to stay in business because they help you. I went in to replace my iPhone 5SE battery because it was running low earlier in the day. The counter help was able to plug my phone into the laptop and told me it was not due to the iPhone battery but because I had too many applications always searching for my location. They always check if the lithium battery on small appliances is running low before they replace it as well. They also sell cool merchandise. I purchased another and held bug zapper there. read more

Hubby said we needed to stop at a battery place on the way home. OK, sure. Why not? He knew there was a Batteries Plus place on Packard. It's now called Batteries & Bulbs. I guess a little product diversity makes sense. I didn't realize he wanted a replacement battery for the 18 Volt Dewalt cordless tool set until he whipped that out and started talking to the guy at the desk. I did a quick tour of the store, and found the replacement and waved it at hubby just about the time the guy at the desk was pointing at the same corner of the store. That was sure quick. Less than 60 seconds. They also take the old ones to recondition or recycle. Great. We decided to walk around and see what else was available. Lots of batteries, big and small. (Not car size, but lawnmower size.) Curly fluorescent bulbs? Do people still buy those? We are really only interested in LED bulbs, especially the 5,000 K ones that give off the really blue light that is oh so easy on older eyes. We noticed that there were not a whole lot of LED replacements for incandescent bulbs. We have been replacing everything possible with LEDs at our house. The appliance bulbs were only available in incandescent, we noticed. We told the man about the "corn cob" LED bulbs which we now use in our over-the-stove microwave's vent hood. He didn't seem familiar with them. Actually there were not a lot of LEDs in the store. There were some really huge corn cob LEDs for outdoor use. The guy had to warn us to look away until our eyes could adjust. Those might work on our barn. We'll think about them for a while. We also had to check out the key fob replacements. They have entire new key fobs and just the shell, so that you can put your old electronic pieces inside. We definitely need one of those, so we'll be back with our parts so that we can get the right case. read more

I have used this store to obtain batteries for my car fobs and garage door openers. They have always been good. But today was different. My wife went in to find a replacement bulb for our microwave. She brought in the old bulb for them to use as a reference. They sold her a bulb that did not work and she went back to them to find the correct bulb. Instead of replacing the bulb or refunding the money, they sought to sell her another bulb, just like the first. No exchange...no refund. The implication is that we broke the bulb we purchased. They took her old battery in the back to test it and never brought it back out. She of course didn't think to request to take it with her and they were in no hurry to remind her. 8 days later, after realizing the problem was not the battery, she attempted to return. They offered a refund but claimed to have already 'recycled' the old battery. Granted she should have thought to take the old battery with her but I do not wish to shop where I need to be on guard. These guys are amazing! I lost the transponder part of my key in a dumpster two months ago . After calling my dealership and finding out it was going to be over $500 just for the key and was told it was my only option , I was appalled to say the least. I saw a sign outside of battery and bulbs that said that they replace transponder keys. After finding one on eBay for $10 that matched my car I called them and it was going to cost $35 to program the key and $35 to come out to the property! It took them about 20 minutes to program my key and my car was well on its way to being back on the road. These guys saved me about $450. They definitely have a lifetime customer now! read more
