This place is as of this writing in front of a substantial amount of road construction that looks like it may take years to finish at the rate things get done these days. It remains open and is substantial inside. The option to order both a salad and a sweet crepe was welcome. The salad was filling and a little roughage does one good with an ice cream crepe coming. My banana foster crepe was cinnamon coated on the inside and the banana was freshly carmelized. It was on point. This was not a place that seemed to cater to niche dietary needs and did not, as far as I could tell, offer buckwheat crepes that sometimes help in that department. What they did offer was some good stuff.
First, the counter-service from Rachel was phenomenal-- hard stop! On top of that, the lattes (honey lavender) and crepes were delicious as well! The blueberry cheesecrepe was out of this world. Important to note: the music and ambiance were great at Batter Bar also. Great product and great vibes, what's not to love?!
Came here with my mom on a Thursday morning/afternoon.because of the construction downtown it was a little hard to find but Service was prompt and friendly! We both got crepes and an arugula salad . I got the prosciutto and peach crepe with a honey and oat iced latte! Everything was delicious! My only complain were the small tables. We didn't get a lot but had trouble comfortably fitting it on the table !
I haven't had a lot of crepes, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but we really enjoyed everything we had. The place was a little smoky and seating could have been better, but we enjoyed our visit overall!
Food was SO good! I normally don't really find good crepes but this hits the spot. Also the coffee wasn't too sweet- and tasted rich. I enjoyed the decoration inside, feels very open and very well decorated! Various of options for playing card games with friends and family which was fun! The staff greeted me when I walked in and was super sweet and patient! Thank you!
Great service. Food cooked to order. I loved watching the crepes being made. Lots of unique combinations!
I know I'm going to be the odd one out, but I don't understand all the high reviews here... We went at the recommendation of a store owner down the street, and were not very impressed. To begin with the hours are strange, and they close super early imo. We stopped by maybe 30 min. or an hour before closing and were the only customers there. The employee working the register wasn't too friendly. The employees weren't directly rude, but it seemed like they wanted us out quick, maybe to close early? But it wasn't even closing time and they didn't say anything to us about leaving. Our order was to go anyways, so we just ate in the car. The prices were also expensive for what you get. I had the crepe brûlée. Would not recommend... hardly any strawberries and flavor was lacking. Disappointing considering the main items for here are crepes. Plus, the poptart was really sour and could've used more filling. Maybe the lunch crepes are better? Honestly the one star is just for the other bakery item's presentation (poptarts/brownies) and the store decor. Don't know if I would try again.
I've now been here a few times but the one fault I would hold against this place would be the pricing. If you're coming here and order anything more than just one item, your wallet may ache a little. Getting that one critique out of the way, the rest of what this place does is nothing short of fantastic. The crepes are thin and delicious and the fillings inside are phenomenal. They make most of everything from scratch and it shows. The sweet crepes are delicious and a tasty dessert and the one savory crepe I've had was filling and unique. The balsamic glaze really connected the dish together. Another thing that I was amazed was the quality of the croissants here. For a crepe place I didn't expect their other non-crepe menu items to be any good but the ham and cheese croissant was phenomenal. Shatteringly crisp and delicious. The cheese is melty and gooey in all the right ways as you eat your way through this fresh baked good. The interior is interesting and very cute. At the end of the day, I would see myself going back as a guilty pleasure but I simply don't have the income to maintain regular visits to this otherwise tasty location.
This place is a Lynchburg staple, with an awesome variety of baked goods and specialty crepes that are both fantastic. My crew got the Caprese crepe, Bacon and Mushroom crepe, Avacado BLT crepe, and their 'Pop-tart' pastries. All were quality menu items, and everyone enjoyed them. I particularly loved the Caprese crepe, and thought the pesto was especially rich and flavorful. The staff is very friendly and cares a lot about quality in their food and dining areas. Very clean dining area, and freshly made food on every order. Love this place!
Stopped in randomly while we were checking out the antiques and shops. It was serendipity! Loved the homemade raspberry pop tart and we both had a savory crepe. New favorite spot!
The place is located in a, what seems to be, historical building. It's right inside first door to the left and the other parts of building are shared. The shop is giving small town vibes! They have some ready go drinks like apple juice and milks,m for the kiddos, soda, water, chips to go, etc. but they are really known for their crepes and coffees with small pastry offerings case. I did the oats and honey iced latte and it was good! I tried the crunch banana crepe without Carmel and then the blt avacado crepe. The blt was very tasty but def could have used less mayo mix drizzled. I enjoyed the crunchy banana crepe. I love that the window in front acts as natural light and also people watching over the Main Street! It's very cozy! I loved the free WiFi jump on to send a few emails before my crepe arrived. Thanks for a great breakfast! read more

What a cute place-wish I took more pics! Located right next to the Farmer's Market, this is the perfect place to go before or after a nice long hike or stroll on the bluffwalk. I wanted to try alllllll the crepes but ended up going with the Avocado BLT crepe (mind-blowing!!!) and a perfect iced strawberry mocha. Perfect spot to grab a bite and sit with a book. This is on my must-go list now everytime I visit Lynchburg. read more

Decent crepes. Both breakfast and sweet, also had a big cookie. Fairly priced for novelty's sake, more of a snack place not the most filling. Service is great! read more

The crepes here are amazing!! I loved visiting with my family One thing - We sat outside. The seats have crushed leaves and acorns that have fallen from the trees on them, so we had to clean them ourselves before sitting down. I recommend the owners fold up their chairs and clean them more often. read more

Absolutely amazing crepes. They have savory and sweet ones - I got one that had bananas, cream, and Nutella - one of the best breakfast dishes I've had from a restaurant! Nice quiet atmosphere. Definitely recommend. read more

Incredible! My girlfriend and I stopped here for breakfast after staying at James River State Park, and we had no idea just how good it would be. I got the Avocado BLT and she got the Hazelberry, and both were incredible. We got there 15 minutes before closing but were still helped happily and the food was just as good as any other time. The employees were very kind and easy to talk to. I wish I lived closer so I could go back regularly! read more

Tasty crepes! Nice and thin and not spongy or weak like some I've had elsewhere. I didn't see a create-your-own option, but we both chose off the normal menu and were happy. (Ham & Cheese, and Berry Cheesecrepe - yum!) We took them around the corner to eat at outdoor tables, because the place was a bit smoky (they must have just had a bit of a kitchen accident) and there was live music coming from the farmers market next door (on Saturday morning). It was slightly hard to find the place because their door is inside off a hallway to the rest of the building. Bit of a rundown place, but the Batter Bar has a kitschy relaxed vibe that works for them. read more

Wonderful breakfast stop! Great "rolled up" crepes, and very good pastries. We regularly frequent and I love the hazel berry (Nutella and strawberries) and my husband often chooses the ham & cheese. We always have to get pastries to go as they're so good and handmade. Nice staff, often just one person working so you have to wait maybe 10-15mins for food but well worth it and there's a cute gift shop next door to browse while you wait. Highly recommend! read more

Lovely place with a friendly staff! The crepes are grrreat! (served street style in a paper cone) My favorite is the HazelBerry! You can never go wrong with Nutella. Inside has a very cozy ambience. Great place to Relax + Read. The outdoor seating area is nicely shaded on a quiet street. Major plus when trying to escape the heat. Such an enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be returning soon! read more
