Beautifully put together!…read more From the aesthetics to the coffee, this coffee shop is doing it right! It was recommended to me by a few friends, and it didn't disappoint. When you walk in, you immediately notice the accents and unique décor. Then comes the fun part--trying to decide where to sit so you can take it all in. Now, onto the coffee. If you enjoy good coffee, this place has it. Great quality and excellent flavor. I tried a cappuccino and loved that it was made with the right proportions and right technique. They definitely know their coffee! I couldn't help but notice that the barista added latte art to everyone's drinks, which was a nice touch. This is a great spot to study or meet up with friends. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the quality of the coffee. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!

As for the coffee though the prices were extremely steep compared to every other coffee shop in the area and I would say the taste was maybe middle of the pack which is why I have to lower my rating. If you're just going for the atmosphere and don't mind paying for it absolutely come here. If you're looking for a better coffee and at a cheaper price I would say take a look at some of the other Lynchburg options.

On a normal day I'd go in with my bestie, we'd order smoothies or a smoothie bowl (my fav), & enjoy the greenery & finely decorated ambience. The love & thought poured in Palmera House is visually evident, a true reflection of the designer/owner's essence. Owner, Erica, made booking this space a no-brainer for me. She responded to my inquiry form the same day I sent it & by the end of the day we had a contract in the works. She promptly answered all of my questions, soothed all of my doubts, &, when the original bartender could no longer make the event, she & her husband stepped in to help serve us at the party. Your perspective of a place changes when you become more familiar with the people running it & in this case I've become even more inclined to support this business. Thank you Palmera House!! P.S. they've recently expanded their menu & while you wait for your food you can walk around the adorable plant store that's attached!

As you enter the Coffee House doors, you begin to see the above take form. There are different seating areas with comfortable furniture. There is an area where paintings from locals of the community decorate the walls and are for sale. Another area with arts and crafts for sale as well. Free WiFi so customers can drop by and do some work as they drink a cup of coffee. While I was there, a customer did just that. The owner gave me a warm and friendly welcome and explained all the food items they had for breakfast and lunch. They have freshly baked New York Bagels shippedfrom New York daily. To drink I ordered a medium Caffè Mocha. To eat I ordered a Breakfast Sandwich with a Cloverdale Plain Bagel, with Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. And finish with something sweet, a Cherry Danish. The Mocha was amazingly good The Bagel was very large and fresh; crunchy on the outside and soft and moist ingredients the inside with a nice size portion of Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. I spent some time there and was able to meet one of the employees who happened to arrive during this time. I also met a nice older couple who enjoy eating at different restaurants and I recommended them Crooked Shoreline Steak and Seafood from Daleville, which I just finished eating there and few days before, and was the first to review this restaurant for Yelp. They loved the oral recap of my review and promised they would go that same event to dine there. They in turn recommended me Nakhon Thai Cuisine which I will be doing there and reviewing for Yelp next Tuesday. Amazingly, what I wrote about at the beginning of this review did take place during the time I was there. God has blessed this Coffee House in a very special way, and it was providing more than just food and drinks for the body, but also for the soul. I highly recommend this Coffee House to all reading this review and viewing the photographs taken for it. In this day and age that it is hard to find a place like this to enjoy a cup of coffee, meet interesting people to socialize with, and do some productive work. This Coffee Shop has a refreshing concept that everyone in the community should take advantage of and contribute to its success as well as benefit from it.

I am a fan of troublemakers!…read more My friends and I love Given's and we're happy to hear that they would be getting a new coffee place inside. Troublemakers coffee is definitely good - their orange and cardamom latte is one of my favorite coffee drinks that I can only get here! I also love their food (the portions are massive and high quality), even though it is slightly pricey. But again, the portions are massive and delicious, so I don't think the prices are much too high - they're pretty on par. The only reason that they didn't get five stars from me is because of a recent interaction with the staff. The vast majority of the time when I visited, the baristas have been extremely friendly, provided great service, and have made my drinks and or food to perfection! However, I visited a few days ago to get coffee with a friend while we were catching up. My plan had been to bring home a sandwich for dinner for my partner and I, which I was gonna get to go when my friend and I went to leave. The cafe advertises being open until 6:30. My friend and I went to leave a few minutes before 6:00, so I went up to the counter to order that to go sandwiches, not even realizing what time it was at that point. The barista behind the counter pretty rudely asked "can I help you with something?" after ignoring me for about 20 seconds. I politely asked if I could order some sandwiches to go, and she very rudely told me that their kitchen closes at 6:00. Mind you, it wasn't quite 6 when I looked down at my phone and they don't have that information posted anywhere to where people would have a way of knowing that. She then shrugged and went "sorry" before walking away into the kitchen. I wasn't at all upset about their kitchen closing time, as I understand that this is typical of many establishments. However, her rude disposition toward me definitely threw me off, and I haven't really had the desire to go back since.

On our way to our Airbnb, a friend and I stopped by Happ, which is located inside an industrial-style building that's incredibly spacious. There's plenty of seating, along with a dedicated area where beans are available for purchase. The barista was really friendly, and we ended up having an in-depth conversation about drink recommendations. When I settled on a cappuccino, he walked me through how each milk option paired with the espresso. I ultimately chose whole milk since it doesn't have an overpowering flavor like almond milk, which allowed the light-roast espresso (an optional upgrade) to really shine. I didn't fully enjoy the cappuccino during the first couple sips because the mouthfeel of the whole milk felt a bit too thick, which didn't pair well with the light roast. However, it became more harmonious as I continued drinking, and the highlight was definitely the bright sweetness of the espresso. I really appreciate a coffee shop that pulls a light-roast espresso well. The barista asked for my thoughts, which I shared, and he then pulled me a shot using their South Paw (house espresso blend) beans to try. I thoroughly enjoyed this light-medium espresso, which was bright and strong, without the unpleasant acidity or bitterness that often follows. I don't typically recommend ordering a straight espresso shot at most coffee shops, but Happ does it well. Overall, it was a great experience -- lovely coffee and friendly baristas who genuinely care about their craft. I left with one of their limited-release coffees (a Peruvian Geisha), which I'm looking forward to trying as a pour-over at home.
