I wish I would've just dealt with the traffic. the one in Olympia Field was greatly greatly greatly disappointing. They had no catfish. They had no short ribs. My hashbrowns were like they were cooked the day before and refried my French toast some of it was hard. Some of it was good. The floor was dirty. The seats were dirty. It wasn't that crowded for the waitress not to be able to take our plates away or ask If we were OK ? I will never ever never ever never return to Olympia, Fields and berries to the owner manager, treat us self just the way you treat North and Lincoln Park. I enjoy brunch so much. I typically get the crab cake benedict with hash browns. I have to be honest and say, I had to return my hash browns for some more fresher ones before. The server exchanged them with no problem. The mimosa flight and french toast flight are a big deal here. There is no need for syrup on the french toast. If you add it you're just a big back . My favorites are the blueberry, caramel, and lemon french toast. Depending on your budget it's a tad bit pricey, but worth it. Make sure you are added to the wait list before going. Went here for breakfast recently. It's a pretty cool vibe. Lots of customers dining there and house music playing in the background. The menu is creative and offers different options compared to other restaurants. For breakfast specials they had catfish, jerk chicken, and a specialty omelette. I had their brisket hash off the regular menu. It was a good size portion, very tender, and came with eggs and hash browns. I know their french toast comes highly recommended so I'll probably try that next time. read more

The service is 5 stars. The caramel French toast is 5 stars. The eggs and hash browns are nothing special but they are good. The pork sausage was spicy and Dry - 2 stars. FYI: The Mimosas are not made with orange juice. Basically, it's flavored Champagne. I did not like the "caramel" apple. However, Jake gave us a small glass of orange juice to add with it. My party of four arrived on a Wednesday at around 11 a.m. We had about a 20-minute wait, which wasn't too bad. Our server was great. Very friendly, personable, and attentive. I've read some of the other reviews, and I'm guessing that the long wait and poor service is on the weekend, when I can imagine, they are extremely busy. I tried the flight of French toast and the special of the day. I'm not a French toast person, but this was delicious. At most places, it's too sweet, but this was light, fluffy, and just enough sweetness. The flavors of the toppings really came through. They also have an outdoor seating area that wasn't open on the day I went, but it would have been nice to sit outside. Overall. I enjoyed it and would return. read more

Food was burned ( the chef tried to cover the burnt parts up) and even the unburned portion was just ok. The server never offered us any drinks, so no coffee, tea, or soda just the water we got when we were seated for the entire meal. She only came to the table once the entire time we were eating ( which is why all we had to drink was water for the entire meal) and once to give us the check. She actually had the nerve to say "If you told me the meat was burned I could have taken it back" How were we going to do this when you only checked on us once which was after we finished our meal? It's ok inside but the tables are very narrow, but the plate shapes make up for that. I will not be returning to this location anytime soon. The fact that coffee wasn't even offered or any drinks for that matter made us feel like we weren't welcome. I still tipped the waitress because I know how hard it is to make ends meet but she is really gonna need to get it together. OMG!! Its hard to put into words how amazing the food was. Our waitress was so gracious and knowledgable of all of the food choices. My friends and I ordered the brunch specials for the day which was fried catfish, cheesy hash browns and eggs. The other special was salmon croquettes and my friend got the veggies instead of eggs. All of the food was so flavorful! And the best part of the order was the french toast flight that we shared. I'm not typically a french toast fan, but I kept wanting more!!! I enjoy Batters and Berries I initially went to the one up north on Lincoln Ave a few years ago. I enjoyed that location as well. This is my third time at this location because I live in the South Suburbs. Each time the food has been good. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the hash browns. Today our waitress was Marcia and she was good. I had the traditional which consist of eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon and cheesy hash browns. We shared the French toast flight, and my guy tried the fried salmon with cheesy hashbrowns and eggs scrambled cheese as well. He said it was really good.. moist on the inside, not fried too hard on the outside. Theres's garlic sauce that comes with it that was really good. He had orange juice and I had water, our favorite out of the flight was the caramel. Of course I'll be back there's always a long wait at least an hour but today we got in really quick it only took like 20 minutes. Probably because it was after 1 PM after the Sunday Rush. It was definitely worth the wait. Brunch was good. We didn't have any drinks today but next time maybe. It is a BYOB but they also have signature cocktails and mimosas. They don't have any liquor so I am assuming that they are getting a liquor license or maybe not. So to those reading this, BYOB! So my French toast was good but not prepared enough as I can taste the plainness in the bread ends . Don't rush and ensure the bread is fully coated and toasted to perfection (like Lincoln location). The sausage was not as flavorful as Lincoln park, but okay. Much smaller in size, two sausage typically takes Up the square saucer . Not These Last but not least, the cheesy Hash! Omg! My first order ( I had to send back as they were cold) looked like regular hash down with parsley and cheese. So when I received the second order they were hot, but were a hunk of hasbrowns with melted cheese! WHAT NOOOOOOO! That is not the cheesy Hash! I was devastated. No crisp half cooked, just all the way wrong. I know practice makes perfect, and I can say as an avid patron I might have to truck it on up to Lincoln Ave because I cannot be disappointed . Mediocre food and mediocre service. Not one person smiled or even looked like they wanted to be there. Waited at the front door for at least 5 minutes while several employees walked back and forth. Finally, the hostess came. There was a person ahead of me who needed to place a to go order. She took their order then eventually, we were seated. The salmon croquette Benedict was just salmon croquettes with a poached egg on top. Other restaurants with this menu item give you an English muffin with the salmon and egg on top. Definitely was not worth $23.50 especially with the bland hashbrowns they paired it with. The pancakes were good but good pancakes are not hard to find in this area. This review is for the Olympia Fields location. I started off with a lemon mimosa which was okay. Then I ordered their 'creole omelet' which was not an omelet. It was an egg over easy with the creole sauce on it, but it was good. Hash browns were served along with it. The hash browns were okay. The meal tasted fine, but Batter & Berries needs to make sure what they are describing on the menu is what they serve the customer. This meal was one of their specials. I had coffee after the meal and that was okay too. Service was just okay. I was not offered a refill on the coffee, but the waitress was friendly. They need to work on cleaning their windows at the restaurant because they were pretty dirty. read more
