Horrible experience. Was excited to go, but was very disappointed afterwards. We waited a while to get seated, and the food was mid at most. The food was very overpriced for what it tastes and comes out to be when served. The ambience off the place was very off as they loud music that you can barely hear yourself in and a big bar taking up lots of space in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was Marcia, who was very unpleasant and had an attitude. She got mad at me because the coffee I ordered was nasty asl, and I decided to change it out for orange juice. She only came to our table like 2-3 times at most, and didn't come back when we needed her. We had to bother the bartender to help us get pepper and hot sauce. We were told that they had no more pepper in the restaurant, when there were pepper shakers clearly sitting in the back not being utilized. It then took 15 mins for them to "find" some, which then made the food cold waiting for it. The food really needed to be seasoned, as it wasn't worth the dollar amount, which is why we waited for it. It was a horrible experience. The whole crew of employees are off, rude, & have attitudes. Never again...Need to do better. I have been at this restaurant at least twice. This last visit was not a good experience. The waiter was on the phone and chatting with other staff before we was given silverware. The food came and wahile waiting on silverware it became cold. They ran out of knives, the waiter fix the drinks but she kept swinging her hair. Not Good! Had to wait an hour for a seat and no Waiting area. We were told to wait in our car until we're seated! Once people go out.. They may not return! I suggest getting a Bench or two so people can wait! Also when we were finally seated, no one greeted us! The Waiter looked over, but no "Hello I'll be with you shortly " When one finally came over he explained they were out of Gluten Free Pancakes ‍ I don't see this Location lasting long after People are use to it , unless they Work on Customer Service and Convenience! Why is a Breakfast Restaurant Business Open at 9am rather than 7? Most of your rush hr would end by 11 , so people aren't waiting hrs for a table unless it's a Special occasion. I remember dining at the first location back in the day in Lincoln Park, unfortunately, this new location is not up to par. The staff needs more training on the basics (e.g. clean uniforms, pleasant front of the house demeanor, customer-friendly dispositions, good overall restaurant decorum). There has to be an understanding among the staff that they are working in a SERVICE industry. Customers are choosing to spend their money at the establishment and they expect a warm, friendly environment and good food... Not sullen servers who look unkempt and busboys with toothpicks hanging out of their mouths. I mean, proper hygiene in food service is the LEAST of what should be displayed. The restaurant certainly has all the potential in the world and the community will ultimately enjoy its offerings (hopefully!), but for the price of the ticket, customers deserve much more than overcooked French toast, hard as a rock bacon, and inedible biscuits. Well one of my favorite places to eat recently opened up a location in my area and I'm super happy! Stopped in yesterday for breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. There were a few hiccups that management needs to know - so here goes. The wait time wasn't bad (but the hostess forgot to text when the table was ready) once I checked on out check in and we were seated, the other wait time started. We had to wait awhile before the server came to our table; no eating utensils was provided until we asked, as well as cream and sugar for our coffee. Food order didn't take too long but when it arrived it was fine. The flight french toast was great (could have been warmer tho) and the chicken sausage were very small (biggest disappointment) but taste the same. Our waitress was busy but checked on us frequently with a very friendly attitude (great customer service). The bus attendant was obviously new to the restaurant business (moved extremely slow and not very helpful to the waitress) but he was friendly too. Overall everything was "okay" just needs to brush up on the small details that can make or break a business such as this. I'll definitely be returning and will spread the news on the opening! Visited this week with my family and we all enjoyed every bit of it. There was a wait, but it was worth it. All of the staff was great and attentive. We had Shianne as a server, she was friendly and did an excellent job. The food was on point, thanks Chef Ken, all plates were left clean. For those who've never ventured to the north location, understand that this location has so much opportunity, from parking and more seating with the same great food. Give them grace as they work out the kinks. So glad this gem is now south, we will definitely be back. read more

The ambiance is consistent with the Northside location so nothing new there. That said, the service was nothing like the Northside location. It took me 15-30 minutes for me and my husband to get a cup of coffee and hot chocolate. When I did get my hot chocolate, it wasn't hot and it was just a package hot chocolate made with water, not milk. It was terrible! Now to the food, the strawberry flight was good but cold. The butter laughed at it and wouldn't even melt they were so cold. The chicken sausage patties was overcooked and dry as sand. My husband ordered bacon and didn't receive it until we had finished eating and ready to pay the bill. I know this was their 1st week open, but they should have waited a bit longer to get it right. Soft opening are "Soft" for a reason. They need more experienced staffing, especially their hosts and kitchen areas. Whoever is the expeditor, need a lot more training!!!! It will be some time before I go back and I can't recommend them at this time. I hope management gets this information. read more

Had a great breakfast midweek to avoid the crowd. Surprisingly, it started getting busy around 11am on a Wednesday lol. Food was delicious, saffron sauce on omelet had the right amount of spice. Lobster was perfectly cooked and French toast was spot-on. My server was a sweetheart, too. Sat at the bar and wished they spaced the seating out a little more, but otherwise no issues. Waited an hour and half to be seated. Another 20min to order. my pancakes came 20min before the rest of my food. Then my order was wrong. Order eggs scramble soft with cheese came with no cheese the fix was to put cheese on top and place in broiler and overcooked them. Not to mention the random people that chose to smoke weed by my vehicle that wasn't even parked near me. So from arriving and checking in at 12:11 we didn't get our food until 2:40. Been waiting on this location to open since they'd first mentioned pre-pandemic. was too excited to hear it had finally arrived. my gps was acting wonky Saturday morning 4/15 so I tried to call to see exactly where located...mgmt pls update your google listing! I almost just went home.. now I know you have to specifically say batter & berries 'Olympia Fields' just to get address as saying batter & berries near me as i was driving in circles wasn't working, I had to call the northside location for more info. note- its on the SW corner of Vollmer & Governors Highway in a strip mall with bright purple lettering but still plentiful free parking. get there early tough as it gets packed and really loud by 9am already- I mean btwn their overhead music and the crowd I could barely conversate with my grandmother - she didn't like the noise one bit lol. we arrived fairly early around 8:30am, they open at 8 and were seated right away. we both ordered the lemon French toast & I also ordered bacon- it was crisp just how I like, but too greasy... like shiny greasy smh... had to blot wi th napkins before eating. Hate I'd missed hearing the crab benedict special they had when our waitress told us the lineup. saw it later on my neighbors table, oh well my fault. My granma's order came out perfect, but my French toast arrived too hard- meaning i should be able to cut thru a piece of french toast edges n' all with a fork alone so server t was nice enough to take and had it remade; this time it arrived pale a f but by then i was too hungry to send back again... i was able to cut with my fork this time as I hv limited mobility in one hand making the use of a knife very hard. the flavor was still there. just wished it had been the appealing golden color like pictured. anyway, Iget it it was super busy; they're still new and working the kinks out at new location so I'll try again sometime next month after the newness wears off some and its not SO crowded. read more

B&B in Olympia Fields. I have been to this location twice. In June and again today, October 27th. Each time, we were sat within 15 minutes. The hosts were pleasant but they were on their cell phones, only 1 said good morning. The ambiance needs some work, the decor was colorful but lacking finishing touches. My 1st meal was delicious, however it took 40 minutes to come after ordering, it was lukewarm. We requested syrup for our pancakes and french toast 3 times, it finally came 40 minutes into the meal when the cakes and toast were cold. But ok, thinking this is a newly opened place, it will get better. My 2nd time, for breakfast at 8:45 am, they had no more of the signature chicken sausage, food lukewarm again. Had to ask for salt, pepper and syrup. My tea came out 30 minutes after my initial request. Each time the servers were very nice and pleasant but they did not give prompt service. I want to support this black owned restaurant. I think the food concept is great and overall the food is very good. The decor is lacking, servers need coaching on customer service and team work for better serving the customers. The cost for 3 of us was 97.00 and some change. The overall experience did not represent the costly bill. This location has potential, hopefully the owners will take it to the next level and thrive in this community to create a better experience for their customers. The northside location provides a better experience, why not offer the same great experience for the south suburban community. I will give it another try at a later time. I read more

The quality and quantities of the food was marginal. Have you ever heard of an omelette that had most of the major ingredients laying on the top? The prices were expensive and most foods were sold a la carte. The serving of the food to 7 adults and 2 elementary age boys was very uncoordinated. Some people were done eating breakfast while others were not served for 20-30 minutes later. The condiments had to be asked for and eventually brought out in little squeeze packages and finally in little cups with no spoons to dip out the condiments. None of our group had anything fancy other than normal breakfast items; however, our bill was just below $200... WOW! They won't see us again. We hope them better success. read more

The wait was very long. The customer service at the front desk left much to be desired. There was no friendly greeting. We were told how long the wait would be. Nobody told us how to join the wait list, we just kind of figured it out. When were seated , and placed our order (very limited menu ) we had to borrow salt and pepper from the table next to us. All of my order didn't come at the same time (ordered the pancakes and a side of bacon) . The place is small and crowded and probably should've reconfigured the space from the last restaurant here. There is no need to have the bar in the middle because it takes up so much space. The food was okay and I must admit , I was a bit disappointed because I heard such nice things said. It's overpriced, underwhelming and you don't really get enough for what they charge for breakfast.
