I can't tell you how much fun I just had at this place. We had a company event. We're all in or a lot of of us are in from out of town to Charlotte North Carolina big group. They let us bring our own food and ax throwing knife, throwing in a competition at the end, the owner showed us everything was going on. She was great. What a fun place beer cider other drinks available no alcohol such as liquor, but other drinks, beer cider, etc. I can't tell you this is the first time I've ever been to a place like this and when I learned the company booked this I honestly said I'm not gonna like this. I was one of the last ones to leave. I wanna say I did pretty well at the ax throwing. I was circling recommend this place please you want a teambuilding event. You wanna have fun. Have the bosses come down there with you and just absolutely kick their ass and act throwing. Thanks again everybody that works there. You two ladies were great. Great place for team building entertainment. We are in town for an inner company tech summit and the organizer chose this place for dinner. I did axe throwing 5 years ago, and this time I improved my skill slightly. They served great BBQ buffet and Noda Hop Roll and Drop IPA. What a great combination! The instructors gave detailed safety orientation to ensure an enjoyable entertainment without any incident. I even tried the big axe for tie-breaker game and managed to land one shot. Everyone enjoyed this event. They also have archery game to hit the ducks on the projected screens. Fun, fun, FUN! Great bar services! read more

This is a very chill location. We went on a week night so there wasn't much of a crowd which is a huge plus since it was our 1st time. You have the option of throwing axes or knives, we opted for the axe. One of the employees will spend a decent amount of time going over how things work and then again on different throwing techniques before your actual time begins so you feel comfortable. My boyfriend and I stopped by BATL on a Tuesday and it was quiet -- but we didn't mind at all. We tried axe and knife throwing and archery, and it was honestly so much fun. The staff was incredibly friendly. She made us feel totally comfortable (even though we were beginners) and gave helpful tips without being overly instructive. This would be such a great spot for a group of friends or even families with older kids. Plus, they've got a bar and food, so it's easy to make a whole night of it. Took my nephew to try BATL for the first time. Coach Callie was the best instructor. She took care and time with us and had us throwing like we were experienced. We had a fun team (work) outing here at BATL Axe Throwing on a Thursday afternoon at 5pm. What an absolute BLAST. The owner (I think) was incredible--and I forget his name, but I shouldn't because he said it numerous times and was such a memorable, personable, and helpful guy. He gave us a group tutorial on how to effectively toss the axe, plus he walked us through a number of fun games to play. He gave a few of the guys some more pointed tips to help them improve their skills, and of course did a great job keeping us hydrated! We really had such a blast, and plan to come back. This is a fun place to go if you have pinned up frustration and need to get it out. Axe throwing is fun and it does t take long to learn. I went with co-workers and we all were experts by the end of the event. The host explained everything. We practiced first then played a few games then had time to play on our own. There are beverages there alcohol and nonalcoholic. Safety is priority and fun is mandatory. read more

We went here for a quick date night. Overall it was great. The guy behind the desk was great- he goes over the entire process and he stays with you for a few throws. He explains all the games and provides the little paper for you to be able to use. When we got there it was about 8Pm so pretty empty. It was us and another party. However over the hour it did get full. The mango beer on draft was very good! The overall price I thought was fair. Only thing I'd recommend is maybe some different type of music playing. The location was a tad hard to find as it seems a little hidden and you have to go around the entire building and google maps doesn't help much with that. However I would return with groups of friends! read more

This was my first time throwing axes and I was a little hesitant thanks to YouTube and these random vids of axes coming back at you lol. I'm glad to report that never happened and that it was an amazing time. Came here as a walk-in so you can book reservations. They serve brewery style beers here so no alcohol which think about it folks that just makes sense. Not that you couldn't get drunk off a beer but alcohol definitely punches harder lol. The associate upon entering was extremely nice and informative about the process here. Once we got our drinks, we were handed off to another guy can't recall his name but a handsome guy and very knowledgeable. He showed us the proper way to double and single hand throw the axes. My friend had come a few times or rather thrown before and I beat him 6 of 6 games lol. Maybe it was freshman luck or a good teacher lol. This is an awesome place for dates and a group of friends. They also have tournaments here I believe on Mondays that you can watch. read more

Swung by here as the first stop on our monthly date night. I was able to score an online reservation about 4 hours before we wanted to go on a Saturday night, sweet. We had thrown before but it had been a while. Walked into a clean facility that was well lit. Throwing lanes were separated by solid wood walls and the individual stalls were separated buy metal fencing. The floors are dense rubber to stop any axe from hitting it and going much further. Backstops are also a harder wood to kill axe momentum should you miss. Great safety features. The staff was really nice and offered us canned/bottled beers. They sent us to our lanes with an instructor who ran through the property throwing techniques, gave some pointers as we practiced then left us a score sheet to play on our own. He also gave us a few different variations of the standard competitions used in the sport. All in all it was a great experience and ran us about $50 for the two of us to throw for an hour with instruction. Having been to another facility in the past this is a good price. We will go back some day when we need something to do indoors together. The private stalls are a welcomed feature that make the time you spend there more intimate with your party. Bobby and Chance, both were great in helping our party get situated and getting set up. Once we got some tips and pointers, we were off and throwing. As the owner of my company, I decided to take my employees out for a night on the town and we decided to visit Batl Axe Throwing at the South Blvd. location. We were greeted immediately after entering the establishment which was impressive. After receiving some great instruction from Marlee, regarding proper methods of throwing the axe, do's and don'ts, we then spent the next two wonderful hours having the times of our lives. The facility was very clean, and the throwing lanes were well separated, and it was obvious that according to our instructor, safety was a main priority.
