I recently visited St. Louis Tile Company. I wanted something special that was different from what…read moreI had seen in the large home improvement stores. I had assumed that it would be too expensive, and that it would not be competitive with Home Depot, Lowes, etc.. I could not have been more wrong. They had gorgeous tiles, huge selection and many items were in stock and on sale. The tile I selected was actually significantly less than similar tiles that I had looked at Home Depot and Menards. What made the experience even better was the excellent customer care. Rhonda was amazing. She was so patient, knowledgeable, and led me to the perfect tile for our project. I am looking forward to working with them again for our next remodel. Incredible selection, great value, and superb staff.

We shopped at several local tile shops always feeling like the staff didn't care about customers at all. Then we walked in to St. Louis Tile in Ballwin. You will be made to feel like you and your project are the primary reason they go to work. Tommy the manager is awesome, he knows his product and his staff is trained in customer service that you will be amazed by. Needless to say we are thrilled we stopped by that day to see what they offered and won't bother with any other "tile shops" going forward. Do yourself a favor and stop in you'll be so happy you did!

Upon tear down of home improvement select's cedar deck that was installed, carpenter noticed they did not weather proof or install flashing along house where deck meets sliding glass door. Water damage to wood behind siding causing me to replace wood from water damage. Also, when material for deck was delivered, company placed in side yard causing huge tracks in the yard. Do not use this company (if they're even still in business)

It seems like this company spends more time putting out fires than doing good, professional work…read more I don't mean the actual workmanship, that's decent, when it actually gets done. My elderly mother hired this company to do a kitchen remodel. After 7 months, she finally decided to bring in an attorney and H.I.S. is now being referred to the MO Attorney General for suit for defrauding the elderly. Most of the communication from this company was excuses, lies, and empty promises. How many times does a professional contractor have to meet with a family to get a job done? Isn't there a process that is generally followed, including proper estimates and list of supplies needed, an estimated timeline, and ordering supplies in a timely manner? My elderly mother dealt with miscommunication about job specifics, incorrect supply orders that HIS claimed my mother would have to pay for. The workers seemed to be playing a game of telephone, because no one really seemed to know what the plan was. They were doing what they thought should be done, instead of having a clearly written plan. Then when they made a mistake, my mother was supposed to pay to fix it. That is unethical. My elderly mother lived in her house without a working kitchen for over 3 months. The project manager and the president came to her house on several occasions to iron out the details, and still there were delays and excuses. The PM even yelled at my mother saying she was trying to get a more expensive kitchen at a reduced price. There were several times that the PM implied that my mother was lying about what was originally planned. But after reviewing the plan, scribbles on a legal pad, he agreed that she was right. Why wouldn't she be? She knows what she asked for and what she wanted. The longest workday for any subcontractor working was 4 hours. Sometimes there would be weeks that she would not hear from anyone and no one showed up to work. She was led to believe from the beginning that once a job started, it would be worked on exclusively, and that the job would not start until all special orders were ready to be installed. Seven months later, we still need to order a cabinet. The stress has been severe for my elderly mother. She has had to talk to her doctor about anti-anxiety medication and even had to leave home for a week to recover. We know that my mother will not get any of her money back (almost $40,000), but we hope that they will go out of business and not be able to defraud anyone else.

We had several quotes (few in the 6 digits). My husband and I just couldn't agree on which one to choose from. The quotes were either too high or did not on design, and sometimes both. I called STL Design and Build Design, setup an appointment as my last resort. STL Design sent Tom Levinson. Mr. Levinson arrived earlier than time with his assistant. This is definitely a rare. We went through the areas for remodeling. Tom sat me down and listen to all I wanted to do. Then it came down to the details and pricing. The wants an can't live without. We finished with an estimated quote that we were very happy with. Tom was wonderful. He gave me sound advice on my selections for the kitchen remodel. He went through the cost, time-line, and process. Tom went to warehouses with me for selections on the items. Matthew Pevehouse, thank goodness for him. I had a family emergency out-of-state. Matt took care of everything for us. The whole crew were wonderful. Matt took pictures and kept me up to date. If there was an issue it was quickly resolved. My husband and I are thrilled with the results. The look is absolutely fabulous, the craftsmanship and quality of products excellent, and done on time. Thank You STL for a wonderful experience. When asked where he was the night before, he quite angrily said, "I was working until 3 am." No call! He stayed here working till after midnight. The later it got the messier he got. I called Debbie about his attitude the next day. She told me I was very rude. she was irate, telling me I was going to have to have a cashiers check, with over a thousand dollars being charged, for overtime, delivery. None was mentioned in contract. Shawn showed up 2 days later. Said nothing about cashiers check. He finished after midnight again. Sloppy painting.
