They did a fantastic job protecting the rest of the house that was not being worked on. As little issues came up (as will happen on any major construction project) they were quick to communicate and work to find answers. They were always open to feedback and suggestions as the project progressed. I added several things to the list as we want along and they were always willing and able to do whatever I asked of them. Like the wood wall installation. I'm very happy with the work they did.

We are so happy that we called Scharf Building Services. From the intial estimate/quote process, scheduling, the excellent work completed, their friendly and efficient team, and the overall customer service - we have been so extremely happy! It's really hard to find a company with such a great experience end to end. We will be calling them in the future! Special thanks to Don for doing some amazing work! We will be using Scharf Building Services for years to come. They did amazing floor refinishing, shower tile work, floor installation, etc... Great company!

I hired SBS for deck repair, because my deck steps were falling apart. SBS replaced the steps and…read moremore to make my deck structure more secure. In the process of attaching the new steps, they inadvertently missed placing a 2x board against the beam. This created a trip hazard between decking and first step. Once I realized I asked for a work stoppage until it got remedied. They refused, and consequently because of the additional work that occurred, the only remedy available was to cut the deck board at the steps. This left a raw edge of the composite wood exposed on the deck. They would not admit to their mistake. And.. that is the issue... they will likely make this mistake again. I paid top dollar to get a deck solution that looks like an amateur did it. Construction is never perfect. But if you can't admit to your mistakes, then how can you get better? I literally wanted them to admit to it, so that this doesn't happen with their next customer. This is a painting company trying to do construction. Be careful.

I was searching for a family-owned mid-sized company to get both good experience and reasonable prices and I feel that I got just that. Luke's communication from the beginning was good. I always felt that I understood what we were going to get. He was clear and honest about what was included and what you needed to provide. This process was a bit different than I was used to but not difficult. I would only recommend that you pay attention to what you need to get with an eye on your budget. We were on a wait list for about 2 months or so (which is a good sign of a contractor in demand) and the project started close to the estimated date. Luke and EJ are extremely professional and pleasant which makes it easier to have in your home for an extended period. We were pleasantly surprised how extremely neat and clean they kept the house during the project. Each day after work they cleaned up including vacuuming and neatly placed everything out of the way. Each morning they set up to work. The quality of work and how everything came out exceeded expectations. I am in the architectural and construction industry and consider myself to have a critical eye for detail. Being one aspect of my job, I inspected the work closely to find anything that I was not satisfied with such as tile level, grout joints, fixture installation, caulk lines, etc. and I could not find a single thing that I would actually call him back for. A single light fixture needed the wiring corrected. That was it. I highly recommend Luke and EJ for your home projects.

We found this company through a google search. Took a chance and it worked out great. Brian is a…read morereally nice guy and he did a great job on our master bathroom remodel. He seems very honest and I would trust him to do more work on our house in the future. Before the remodel this bathroom had a small shower and a really big tub we never used. We wanted all that gutted to make room for a really big custom shower. We selected and bought a lot of the material ourselves, including all the tile, the new vanity, shower heads and faucets. Brian told us exactly how much square footage we needed and then he did all the work. This saved us a ton of money compared to many of the big companies that want you to buy everything directly through them. Some parts of this job were difficult because it was all custom and the plumbing was kind of complex. But Brian was very transparent throughout the job and made sure everything was done correctly and to our preferences. I highly recommend him.

Joe came out next day and helped fix it ASAP- could not be more grateful for that quick response. After that we hired Joe to complete our interior paint and bathroom. Joe was also very considerate as we continually added more items to his work list. Joe and Michael are very conscious with regards to COVID-19 safety- always wearing a mask and disinfecting as they go along. Quality of work, service and cleanliness were exceptional. Initially, he was good to work with, and I was planning to hire him for several additional projects around my home. Unfortunately, my experience changed after that. When he came back out to look at the additional work, he quoted me nearly double what he had originally discussed and gave the impression that he wasn't interested in taking on the job. He eventually completed the work I hired him for, but when the insulation company arrived, we immediately discovered that part of the job I had already paid for had not been completed. As a result, the insulation crew and I had to finish the remaining work ourselves before the insulation removal could even begin. That was extremely frustrating, especially since I had hired and paid someone to ensure everything was ready beforehand. Based on my experience, I won't be hiring Joe again, and I can't recommend his services to others. I expected the work to be completed correctly the first time, and unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
