The Village Quire - Cards and gift ideas

The Village Quire is a cute little gift shop, specializing in greeting cards…read more They have lots of unique designs and cards for all occasions. Lots of funny and unique cards. Service was friendly. If you like giving greetings cards, I'd definitely recommend the Village Quire for your greeting card needs. Street parking only.

I love a good greeting card store. This one has the best selection of cards for any occasion. I got one for my friend saying, "Happy birthday to my favourite vegan friend." I can't wait to give this card to her next year. Yep, I plan that far in advance. The punny cards were hysterical. We were laughing so hard in a fairly quiet store. Luckily, we weren't kicked out. Excellent cards! I also liked the stationery and writing instruments. This store carries Lamy fountain pens, which I hadn't seen in ages. I also loved these huge puffy stickers. My laptop has no room for large stickers these days. If it did, I would have bought one in a heartbeat. I also liked the pencil sharpener that had three different pencil sizes to use. Fancy! If you are looking for a gift for someone, this store had a bunch of cool suggestions. Everything from Sun Jellies totes, to candles and drinkware can be found here. There were even astronaut-themed erasers and candles. So cool! I went to pay for my card. The woman indicated that there was a sticker on the back of the card that may be an issue. Maybe I'm so used to taking off stickers from any surface that I did it at the store without any hesitation. Done! I paid for my card with a debit card. The transaction was smooth. I got my card with an envelope in a small paper bag. The woman at this store was friendly and cared about the quality of her items that customers were about to possess. It was a wonderful find. I'd love to go back when I'm in the neighbourhood again. Cards and perhaps a new fountain pen await. (283)

Bath & Body Works - Guys, how cute is this pizza hand sanitizer holder that clips onto your purse?!? I had to buy it! $6.95. (Hand sanitizer sold separately)

They smell great and they are always coming out with new scents. I like that the scent doesn't linger though. You get a nice olfactory experience while you're washing your hands but then it's gone. The scents are strong, so prolonged exposure to them does give me a headache, so I never use their body sprays/fragrances or room sprays. Even their hand sanitizers are too heavily scented for me and the scent stays on your hands for too long, so I always have to get the unscented ones, or they have these new "sport" ones that aren't objectionable to me, lol. Something I really love at Bath and Body Works is their cute hand sanitizer holders that have clips on them to clip into your purse, backpack, etc. They made these long before the Covid-19 Pandemic, but since then have come out with more styles, as they became more popular. I missed out on the French Fries one and their Popcorn one, but I managed to score their Pizza one. The only negative thing is they are a bit heavy and bulky, but so cute!! Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

I would prefer being able to get in and out quickly so- say I'm looking for hand soap- maybe there's a wall with ALL the hand soap, rather than the wild goose chase. They have cute stuff, and I'm really big on the impulse by, so that's cool- I love coming here pre-holidays to see what gifts I can get for people, but it can be overwhelming when it's crowded or if the staff are busy and can't help out. The staff, for the most part, are friendly but my experience has been hit or miss. Sometimes they pounce and kind of hover a bit close, and other times I have barely been acknowledged on my way in OR out. I think this can happen anywhere though- the joys of retail! I know it's a store that sells nice smelling things, and I love that, but it really is overwhelming when you step in- so, be warned! If you're scent sensitive, this is probably not the spot for you. Send a friend on your behalf instead!

Bayshore Flowers - What I ordered vs what I got.. So worth $70 dollars right? Your business ethics are terrible, Bayshore Flowers.

When asked why did he deliver it today instead of tomorrow and left it at someone else's apartment he said because tomorrow they'll be "very busy." and my mom didn't answer the door right away - as she wasn't expecting anyone to show up today. If you're too busy to deliver services on time and to the right address - put your business away and don't charge people 70 dollars for DEAD flowers. Pathetic. Absolutely worst florists in town. They pulled something similar last year on my mom's birthday as well. Showed up 1 day late. I absolutely regret assuming this time the service would be any different.

In fact several people commented on how nice they looked and even to this day my now wife always brings up how nice the flowers were when we walk by their store. The man who I presume is the owner was very nice and had absolutely no direction from me at all when I did buy the flowers. In fact I'm pretty sure I came back afterwards for something else but don't remember for what lol. Pricing from what I recall was reasonable. If I had an occasion to buy flowers I'd definitely come back today. Definitely a good considerarion or option if you're looking for flowers or floral arrangement for any occasion.

It did have merchandise that I like. I had just bought a punny card at a different store. This store has a wide assortment that I enjoy. I tend to purchase a greeting card of some sort in my travels. It comes in handy when I need to gift someone a present with a card or when I send one in the mail (what's that?!) to someone. This store had cute trinket holders. There were heart-shaped ones. I liked the strawberry ones. They were perfect for rings, earrings, and maybe my air plant. This store had artisan soap by Whiskey River Soap Co. Had I not purchase a bunch of hand-crafted soap last month, I would have bought some here. It's funny that I held back getting a thing because I had just purchased similar items recently. The drinkware was another good example. I got one with a glass straw a few months ago. I didn't need another one, but the watermelon and strawberry ones appealed to me. This store had a lot of earrings to choose from. I was happy to see a lot of cute, small earrings. I like clean designs. Simplicity is good. You got everything from crescent moons to triangles. This store had so many gift ideas. Even the pottery section made me wonder if I could gift a friend something. I enjoyed browsing at this store. I hope that I'll have the need to buy something for either a friend or me next time I'm here. (249)
