First it was just Body Shop, then Fruits & Passion and all those drug store-quality fragrant body lotions appeared on the scene. Now everyone and their dog likes nice-smelling things - candles, lotions, aromatherapy oils, soaps, lip balms, body scrubs, lip polishes - It's outta control! Every time I've walked by Bath & Body Works it looks like it's Boxing Day. This place is a mega warehouse for everything that smells, softens and soothes. It's pure sensory overload! The bottle of creams are stack on shelves, in cubbies, on tables and in glass cases like fine jewelry or clothing. It's almost comic that so many people are milling through the aisles trying to find the body cream that defines them. Is it key lime verbena or pina colada passion? Don't get me wrong. I love this stuff. But the quality of product here is a bit watered down. It's not as good as Body Shop or spa-quality products. But that isn't stopping people from shopping here in droves. They're going to give Body Shop a run for their money. read more

It looks like The Body Shop's got some stiff competition! If you're a fan of this popular lotions and potions brand, then you've probably already gone to see this new location. If you haven't, where have you been?? This store is usually jam-packed with people, but lately it seems it's even more so, if that's possible. BBW now has their new Christmas fragrances out, and prepackaged gift sets as well, so shoppers are probably racing to get their hands on those. The scent is quite heavy when you walk into the store. My boyfriend, who doesn't quite like fragrances, said it smelled like overdone curry. But don't worry, he thinks Chanel No. 5 is some classified document to protect the country from invasion or something. They have their classic scents like Lime Verbena and Warm Vanilla Sugar, as well as new ones like Twisted Peppermint and Black Amethyst. The bath and body products are at the front of the store, while makeup, skincare, haircare and home fragrances are located in back. The cash register is also all the way in back, which is a clever ploy to get you to walk through the whole store. They have some pretty good deals on right now too, like 3 antibacterial hand soaps for $12. I saw many empty shelves though; things go pretty quick here! And I'm not exaggerating when I say it was mayhem when I went. You would've thought it was already Christmas! I needed to fight my way through the crowds. If there was a club for those who have bags of BBW products in their closet, I would be a member. When I go in, I remind myself of what I already have at home but somehow I end up with a bag of most products to bring home! Who can't use another soap, body wash, or lip product? Or always great gift to give a friend or two for birthdays and Christmas time. I don't intend to buy so many products but they are so enticing with the sales of products and then all the coupons. Sometimes I'll get an email for 20% off your purchase, including sale items. You can't beat body wash for less than $4 in lovely scents that remind me or Hawaii or somewhere tropical. They also have the survey at the bottom of the receipt and next time you shop, you can get $10 off a $30 purchase. That means I can get 7 soaps and another product for $20, great deal! I like the kitchen lemon for the kitchen but maybe I need more bathrooms for all the scents and soaps. Although I probably have enough soap to last me a year or two and shower gel to take a few showers a day for a year, I'm sure I will be back at this store before the end of the year! read more

Ooooooh wow, this is one gigantic soap store. Seriously, how big does a soap shop need to be? Unlike the Southgate and South Common B&BW, this location (true to the mall that it resides in) is just a beast of a store. The candle section is the size of most normal B&BW - but, it still gets the job done. It may may be a bit daunting, and many times a mess and jam packed with the masses, but one thing is for certain: you will find the perfect soap for you... and then some. Honestly, I dare you to walk out only buying one soap! Couldn't do it? Ya, don't worry, neither could anyone else... With crazy deals like 5 for $25 and on, and on, no one can escape the deadly soap trap that is Bath & Body Works. PS - I am addicted to their candles. While I generally prefer to stick to my north side location of Bath and Body Works in Londonderry mall if I happen to be in WEM anyways I very rarely make it out without stopping in here. They have a pretty consistent level of customer service regardless of how busy it is which is kind of nice. I always get a greeting and nine times out of ten someone approaches me right away to offer assistance in locating things or to let me know about a sale. The only downside in the customer service here is if you happen to come in on a rare occasion the store is not busy like in the morning for instance you can sometimes be approached 3-4 times which can get overwhelming. The store layout regardless of what location you are at is usually pretty similar which is great if your looking to get in and out quickly. They also do a great job of keeping stock levels here nice and full. I have noticed other stores like Kingsway and Londonderry don't really keep up with putting out the small travel sized items and I was wondering if Bath and Body Works was trying to get away from that and more into pushing the more expensive full sized products but I have never really felt that when visiting WEM. While I am on the topic of price I have to say....and this goes for all locations not just WEM....why is hardly anything here ever priced!!?? It seems like the days of stickers on the bottles are long gone and instead they put up these tiny plastic signs on the product display tables listing prices of types and sizes of products but even then they don't put these signs on every table. Needless to say I usually get my exercise when visiting a Bath and Body Works whilst walking about trying to locate prices. The main reason I stick to Londonderry and don't make special trips to WEM to get my fix is the volume of customers that shop in this store. Like I mentioned earlier in the review there are very few times they aren't busy and if your in during a sale your looking at a long lineup at the till. If your from the west side or are a frequent WEM shopper then you really can't get away with not stopping in here. There are so many great sales that it's easy to load up on lots of great gifts for your best girlfriends and still have cash left over to treat yourself. If you are closer to another location however save yourself the headache that sometimes comes from having to deal with congestion and long line ups and stick with a smaller store. Either way you can never go wrong with Bath and Body Works! read more

Not a review but a suggestion - Help the planet by asking the Managers at all bath and body type stores to start offering refills on their products instead of wasting tonnes and tonnes among tonnes of plastic packaging!!! There's no need to buy a new bottle every time you need more soap! :D I mentioned this to some staff members at various stores and they all say its a really great idea. read more

I love Bath and Body works! I know that there are zillions of shops that offer better quality of products but I totally enjoy their deals. Great to buy a bubble bath - don't we all love that? - liquid soap and moisturizer of the same odor .. my favorite currently is the mandarin orange and mango one. Yummy! Have never spent less than $50 out here. It's my regular soap that I use daily. For date nights, I bring out the expensive goods :-P. I think generally speaking, the Body shop is slightly better, but for the price, this is my favorite daily use shop! Their deals are outstanding and they have other nice things like body oils, deodorants, bath salts etc. Good friendly staff that wear a earpiece-mic set which makes them look like walking call center folks. Lucky I looked on the WEM website to find the exact location of the store because for sure I wouldn't want to be wandering throughout the mall because I am so not a window shopper. So when I shop here, I just go for the soaps and massage oils. I was pleased to see I could get 4 soaps for $15 whereas in Toronto I think it was 3 for $20. The cost of doing business is Toronto I suppose. Always friendly staff who are willing to help you out. In my case though, I always know what I want. Lets see how long this lasts. read more

I look at this store like I look at the body shop. I believe it to be a store for girls. That could be because girls are naturally cleaner than guys. It's just a fact. Anyways this store has all types of lotions and soaps, sprays, gels and other stuff that smells great. Everything is pretty girly smelling but it still smells great none the less. It's always extremely busy with girls and a few guys, who were either dragged in or were buying gifts. I find this store produces some good stocking stuffers. read more

If you want something to put on your body that smells nice, Bath and Body Works is a definitely option. Shelf after shelf of soaps, lotions, sprays, gels, softeners, cosmetics - just about every item comes in several dozen different scents. I was turned on to this place by a friend who recommended the antibacterial soaps, which usually come three for $15 (or some other similar deal). I was so overwhelmed with the choice of scents and the number of people in the store, that I walked out empty-handed. If ever I pass by and the place does not resemble a madhouse, I just may try again. read more

I was shopping in your Edmonton store yesterday with my mom. We don't live in Edmonton so were quite excited so FINALLY get there. We love your staff, they are extremely helpful! We love your products, they are amazing! THE MUSIC IN YOUR STORES IN TOO MUCH!! Do you not want your customers to have a relaxing shopping experience? The more relaxed they are the longer they stay and the MORE they shop!! The music made us want to run out of the store as fast as possible, we would have bought more if the music wasn't SO loud and awful. The better your customers feel the more they will shop...help create a relaxing shopping experience by cutting out the loud music!! read more
