Great service. Went to these guys for some help with termites, and they were extremely professional. They were very knowledgeable about these types of problems, and handled all of my questions in a patient manner. They were very thorough going over every bit of my house. When I got my place fumigated, I had a really difficult work schedule, and they were able to work around it. Their price was fairly reasonable compared to the other places that I got quotes from too. Couldn't ask for anything more. Hopefully I don't have any more problems with termites in the future, but if I do, I'll gladly give these guys a ring again. read more

Left a message, got called back three hours later (not too bad), BUT: Johnny or whatever his name is has major attitude. I think he's ready to retire. Spoke to me like I am a complete moron. At one point, when he exasperatedly explained the process for a 20-minute job with a report going to Sacramento (as though everyone knows), I said "Oh wow -- all that just for spot treatment." Spiders. *shudder* They creep me out so much that I'm hoping the tenting of my house will wipe those suckers out. Bateman was recommended to me by a Redondo real estate agent who has used their services for decades. It's a family-owned business, father & son, and they've been in this biz for more than 35 years. Bateman went the extra mile for me, in the sense they researched the fumigation procedure specifically for spider eradication. Turns out that it takes more fumigant to kill spiders than it does to kill drywood termites. So if I'd tented for termites only, chances are the spiders would have survived. So here's yet another wonderful, local, family-owned & operated business. And now I feel a story coming on..... Matt and his team are great. Our ant problem was so ridiculous! I'm talking ants in the bathtub, in the bed, in my dresser; I am a clean-freak and am cleaning and tidying near constantly, so the ants really made me feel disgusted to be in my own home. Now, however, it feels like home again! It's been a few days since Bateman sprayed the outside of our place, and I've seen a grand total of five sad and pathetic-looking ants since (which I promptly squashed with a feeling of triumph). I would 100% reccomend Bateman if you're having pest problems, it's as if that army of ants was never here. read more

I don't like leaving poor ratings for a business especially when it is a local small business but I feel that it is worth mentioning how poor of a customer service Bateman pest control gave me. I scheduled a service call for an estimate for inspection/ fumigation of my home. I spoke with Jeff I believe and confirmed a windows of time when he should come to my house. I waited and waited and no one showed up... mind you I saw a truck drive past my house without stopping or running the door bell. An hour later I called to find out the status of the technician and I was rudely informed that when they drove to my house another company was just leaving and Bateman would prefer to not bid against the other contractor that I was getting a quote from. I had fully disclosed that I'm getting multiple bids and from personal experience when getting work done it is always best to get a few quotes and find the contractor that I feel most comfortable with not only cost wise but service wise as well. I explained that to the gentleman from Bateman and he still declined to come and give me a quote... it seems that even in these times when many people and businesses are doing their best to stay afloat and keep their clients the owner at Bateman pest control is too busy and not interested in new business or quoting against other contractors... he wasn't even courteous enough to knock on my door or call me to tell me that he would not be able to give me a bid... just wasted my time! I would recommend if you want to work with someone who cares about customer service and is interested in new clients perhaps look elsewhere... Bateman is clearly plenty busy and very willing to turn business away.... read more

I called Bateman Termite a few months ago to combat a termite problem in my garage. I had contacted 3 other companies for estimates and Mat was the only one who showed up on time or showed up at all! He was very professional and took the time to show me what the problem was and what he recommended for a solution. The price was very reasonable and beat the competition! He and his staff showed up on time and were very quick in setting up the tent. They did a great job and did more than what was expected. I used Bateman again this month to tent my house. Again, very impressed with the contact and explanation of everything. Mat even called me to remind me to call the gas company to have the gas turned back on when the fumigation was completed. We had a really bad ant problem this summer. Tried multiple things to keep them out of the house - sprays and terro baits. They worked for a bit but then the ants kept coming back in different areas of the house. Finally, I had it and wanted to pull my hair out. Called Matt and so glad we did. I love this company! We called them to spray for spiders, silverfish, and earwigs that had taken over our home. Ewww, nasty! Mat Bateman is the nicest guy! Not only did he spray, he went through the whole property beforehand and cleaned out all the cobwebs - something I have never seen any other company take the time to do. Then he sprayed. I had significant wood damage from termites and dry rot. When I determined that it was beyond the capabilities of my handyman, Bateman Termite did a thorough inspection of my house and provided a detailed report as to the extent of the damage. They repaired the damaged areas, in some cases better than new. Once that was done, they tented the house to kill any remaining termites. I am a retired widower on a fixed income. Finding a credible termite control firm is a crap shoot. After soliciting no less than seven estimates, I went with this father-son operation on the advice of a close friend whose daughter knew the son. It was an excellent recommendation. The father did the inspection, which was succinct with sufficient details, but without the thick padding and make-work reports that I got from other companies. We negotiated a fair price that was competitive. Repairs and tenting were done efficiently and on schedule, and there were no surprises or disappointments. Our landlord had our places in Inglewood tented/fumigated (termite problems) in late February. It was afterwards that was the problem. The workers left the places so dirty. My husband and I were told by Johnny Bateman (in person) that we need not be concerned about windows being left open afterward. We explained to him that our primary residence is elsewhere and that we would not be back to Inglewood for quite a while. No problem, he says. Only one window was left open, but two doors were left open! Open to dust, insects, grit from airplanes flying overhead. The kitchen doors in both little houses were left open to the elements. Yes, the security screens were there and locked, but they do not keep out insects, rain, dirt. The kitchens were the worst, since of course the cabinets and drawers were open for the fumigation. When I spoke to him about the dirt, Mr. Bateman said "prove it." Not at all good. read more
