Over the course of my treatment, Dr. Ravi and his incredible team restored my smile with 18 crowns and 2 bridges. That's a huge amount of dental work, and I can honestly say it has been the best dental experience of my life. The crowns came back SO FAST and the temporaries looked and felt great. From start to finish I got almost all my teeth done in just a matter of days. If you're someone who gets anxious about going to the dentist, this is the office you've been looking for. They don't just say they care about keeping you comfortable--they prove it. They constantly checked to make sure I wasn't in pain, explained everything before they did it, and even brought me a warm blanket during my appointments so I would be comfortable. Those little acts of kindness meant more than they probably realize. They will even hold your hand and comfort you if you get anxious. Dr. Ravi is not only exceptionally skilled, but he's also patient, compassionate, and genuinely invested in giving his patients the best possible outcome. He even went through my entire medical history and checked all of my medication's to make sure that everything he did was for my benefit. Dr. Ravi went off a 35 year old picture of me to restore my smile. I don't know another dentist that goes the extra mile like he does. Melissa is simply amazing. She was encouraging, attentive, and made every visit feel less like a dental appointment and more like I was being cared for by people who truly wanted me to have a great experience. What impressed me just as much was their honesty. Ashley worked tirelessly with my insurance company to maximize my benefits and helped me get the best price I could find anywhere. At no point did I feel pressured or taken advantage of, quite the opposite. I felt respected. When you spend this much time in a dental chair, you learn very quickly whether a practice is exceptional or just average. Bastrop Modern Dentistry is exceptional. Last time they literally tried to scam me by saying I needed a deep cleaning with their special laser treatment for $500. My scheduled appointment was abruptly canceled while I was en route, despite my having adjusted my personal schedule to accommodate the time. I was instructed to call scheduling to reschedule, which I did, but I was only able to leave a voicemail. It took an unacceptable three weeks for my call to be returned. When I finally spoke with a male scheduler, I was told that I would need to re-register as a new patient. When I tried to ask questions for clarification, he repeatedly interrupted me and was extremely rude. He ultimately stated that he would not "deal" with me because I was not "listening" to him and that another scheduler would be in touch. This entire experience, from the last-minute cancellation to the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the scheduling staff, is completely unacceptable. The lack of communication, the extensive delay in returning my call, and the discourteous way I was treated have caused me to question the quality of care provided by your practice. I believe these issues need to be addressed promptly to prevent similar experiences for other patients. read more

I am very disappointed with this dental office. And i do blame myself.I was charged multiple times, including unexpected bills months later, even after paying in full. They told me my account was up to date. 2 weeks later 100 dollar bill a month later a 300 dollar bill. This is not right. They told me several times they accepted my insurance, but that turned out not to be true. I also had three fillings done it took 3 hours and still can't bite properly. Overall, I don't trust their billing or services and would advise others to double-check everything before going. read more

After trying a few offices when moving to Bastrop, I was never confident in the care me and my family had received for various reasons. When I got a new dental insurance, Bastrop Modern Dentistry was in network. With it being a new facility, I thought we'd give it a try. No one likes going to the dentist, but this office makes it better than many others. Insurance helps, but major dental work is expensive, point blank, period. My kids cleanings and care has been good, my husband will actually go here and I have had to have multiple cavities repaired and root canals & crowns. They have a specialist do root canals and you can tell he is passionate about what he does and he wants to do it well. They constantly check on you and make sure you're comfortable. I like that they can make your crown in office if you choose and the porcelain ones not only look great, but have held up over time. They take care to make sure the fit and color is right. Dr Ravi is not an exuberantly happy person, but he has good manners and will explain and answer any questions, which I can appreciate. I like the professionalism. As a regular person unfamiliar with dental practices, I appreciate the way they show you your teeth, describe where they see problems and how they take before and after pictures, PROVING the services they provide and the problems they find. No blind faith here. The facility is clean. The ladies at the front desk have been there for years and are very helpful with appointments and explaining your insurance benefits. I have never received a bogus bill, I have never had them cancel an appointment on me and I have never waited longer than 30 minutes to be seen. I was nervous about coming here as a new patient because of all the low reviews. seems like everyone wants to make a comment of things bad but never of the things good. I hadn't been to a dentist in maybe 4+ years (horrible i know) but these people didn't bat an eye at me or make any rude comments when i had told them. the front desk was very helpful and polite. the doctor explained everything she was doing. the building was nice and clean. only reason i give 4 stars is because the equipment to take my vitals an the x-ray machine kept having problems so it took awhile to get that done. it was a good experience and they also offer a $60 new patient plan where you can get a overall checkup/x-ray/cleaning all for that price! very helpful for those who don't have insurance :) read more

Admittedly in five years in Texas I've yet to find the best dentist; I have, however, seemed to have found the worst. A casual search for someone to clean my teeth biannually was expedited when a tooth broke, and I went in for an exam at Bastrop Modern Dentistry. It took two hours - not to fix the tooth, but to take over a dozen x-rays, half due to the wrong side of my mouth being surveyed the first time. I get it, not everyone knows right from left. Then I waited and waited for what seemed like a thirteen year old dentist to come in and tell me what they told me on the phone before I had arrived. A month and a half later, I went in for a two hour appointment to get a root canal and cavity filled. The doctor tried three times to numb me but could not. I know it was operator error because when the older dentist came in, he did it with just one shot. What ensued was nothing less than a fiasco. A two hour appointment became nearly twelve hours in the dentist chair over three days. Here I sit, a month or so later. My tooth hurts still. There are rough edges and gaps around the bottom of the crown that catch food worse than before I went to Bastrop Modern Debtistry. I'd had a followup visit scheduled with them, but two hours before my appointment, which I took off work for, they called to say they cancelled my appointment because they had other appointments to get to. They said they'd call me back - two weeks later, I haven't heard anything. Sincerely, 4:30am toothache. read more

I'll start with the good. The hygienist always does a GREAT job cleaning my teeth. Doesn't have the gentlest touch, but in the end, my teeth are clean. Now the bad, as someone else has mentioned, the dentist seems like he is having a really bad day - every time you see him. Cold, abrupt. That seems to rub off on the rest of the staff. While they are not rude, most people there just seem unhappy and not like they love or even like their job - or maybe more accurately working in that office. It was such a change from my last dentist where all the staff treated you like family and would even give me a big small, a warm, friendly greeting and even a hug when I came in. There was also the time the dentist hit a nerve while giving me a shot and then abruptly left the room and would not return when I jumped up and yelled out in pain. HE seemed to be mad at ME. I wasn't mad at him, things happen, but there was no apology or concern or anything. He just left. It was very bizarre. When it came time for the shot on the other side of my mouth, he told the hygienist (not me) that he wasn't going to give me another shot and to try to do the scaling/deep cleaning with just a topical. The topical ended up being fine - certainly better than a shot to the nerve, but he never came back and talked to me himself. I was considering finding a new dentist anyway, and then came the final straw. I had zygomatic implants done 3 months ago (elsewhere as this is a highly specialized, major surgery done under general anesthesia). Because my surgeon is not local, when I feared one implant might be infected possibly causing it to fail, he instructed me to go see my dentist and have them take an x-ray and get an antibiotic and Rx mouth rinse. This would be considered an emergency situation as, if the infection spreads, I will have to have another major surgery. Bastrop Modern Dentistry told me they can't see me for nearly a month. The dentist doesn't even take x-rays, a tech does. Surely they could squeeze out 5-10 minutes for one emergency x-ray and a prescription. I would have even paid for an emergency visit, but that wasn't an option. Kudos to the gal who answered the phone and at least tried to be helpful. Anyway, if your dentist cares so little about your overall dental health, it's time to find a new dentist. read more

Been going there for five years until recently. Agree with what Sharon stated below. Since the last year or so my dentist there just doesn't seem to care. They have cycled thru quite a few staff. Ashley has been good and honest but recently she has ignored my request to resolve recent issues. She tried for the first week and then after that I was nothing to them. Very sad when I have given them a ton of money and always raved about them. They just lost 3+ ppl now including many more. They should have followed up with me and worked out a plan to mitigate the issues I had. Dentist there told me that my bridge was fine after a year of complaining about strong pains in my back tooth on my bridge. After a second and third review I found out my tooth was rotted out and Dr Ravi didn't catch it and never told me about this issue until it was to late. I almost died of infection as my face was swollen and couldn't sleep due to pain. My rotted tooth under the bridge had to be pulled and couldn't be saved. Also the leftover roots next to the rotten tooth also had to be pulled. They left the roots in and decided to bridge over the top of leftover roots with no tooth there. So I have two empty holes now in my mouth with no bridge. Dr should have never left the old roots from the old root canal in there but he did and they became infected too. My wife was also seen by same dr and she was misdiagnosed as well. She had veneers on her front teeth and kept complaint to them of pain and it felt like the new veneers were causing her pain and felt like they were coming off. After a second opinion she had some painful cavities next to both of the veneers on both sides. She is in the process of getting those fixed. Because of their ignorance my family has lost thousands of dollars and were in great pain. Come on Ashley you can do better! read more

Went to this dentist when they first opened because they were offering free X-rays or something and I had no dental insurance. In the X-rays they noticed one of my filings needed to be replaced. So the dentist STRONGLY encouraged me to get a crown instead of replacing the filling. He said he had time that moment to do it. So I went through with it. That should have been my sign to say no. Turns out he just wanted to try out his new fancy 3D crown making equipment. It clearly looked like he was new at using this equipment. But by then it was too late. The crown was a terrible fit and after a month of them adjusting it, I realized something was very wrong. So I flew home to my dentist if 10 years whom I trusted. He was in absolute disbelief that 1. This dentist encouraged a 20 something year old to get a crown of replacing a filing. 2. The terrible fit of the crown. So my dentist had to re prep my tooth and make a new crown. Still so disappointed with this place. I wish I never got a crown. read more

This place is awesome! I called, after realizing I had less than a week to use my flex spending card, and badly wanted to get my two metal fillings out from years ago, and to have a previous cap that had a bad food trap fixed. Everyone at Bastrop Modern Dentistry was amazing. The consultation created a comfortable and relaxed environment to explain my wants and needs. The exam and explanation was simple and easy to understand. My options were explained, and I was able to choose the best treatment plan for me. They were even able to work out a payment plan for the amount that was left after my flex card portion. Then, they went right to work! While no dentist chair visit is fun by definition, they made it as good as it could be. A few hours later I was enjoying my ice tea with noticeably less sensitivity, and the following day was as good as new, just a few minor sore spots, but back in the game! And the fitment is AWESOME, the "food trap" has diminished GREATLY, and had bbq brisket without the "leftovers" stuck in between my gums and molars! I know, TMI, but you get the picture! Do yourself a favor, if you don't have a dentist, and are anywhere near Bastrop, go see Bastrop Modern for your shiny smile maintenance!! read more

Dee the dental assistant is warm and caring . Not enough words to describe Dr. V she is by far the best dentist I have had in my 62 years. I have EXTREME dental anxiety and Dr. V made extra sure that I was comfortable and clear on exactly how the procedure would go. I am so happy I picked this place despite it having zero reviews to go off. Dr.RAKSHITH RAVIKUMAR was polite, caring, and MOST importantly honest. I went to a highly reviewed dentist in Austin and she told me (in 5 minutes then I never saw her again) that I had 6 cavities. Well, I didn't have the $ and life happened so my next appointment was at Bastrop Modern Dentistry 3 years later, where I found out I had not 6 but 2 cavities. Dr. Ravikumar took his time to explain everything that was going on with my teeth and even did my cleaning himself! I was given several care plan and payment options. No one tried to sell me something I didn't need. Dentistry is scary but not here. They have my business for as long as I have my teeth. read more

The whole staff was really friendly and professional! The office is clean and modern. No products or procedures were pushed (unlike other dentists), and the experience was positive. Moly was great as she took all my X-rays, and it was really cool to see all the images in real time. Carol explained everything before and during the cleaning, and she's so kind! I can't stand when a dentist or hygienist asks me a question while my mouth is full of dental instruments or their fingers! There was none of that here! Dr. Ravi was approachable and answered all my questions. He also confirmed that previous dentists had probably over-diagnosed some things (probably to charge me more money), and he explained why in a way that was logical and easy for a layperson to understand. I also really appreciated that Ashley explained all the treatment options (AND THEIR COSTS) before proceeding. It's so refreshing to find an honest and pleasant dental office! Too many inconsistencies.... Made apt to see oral surgeon but when I got there he wasn't there. Had to see dentist for an oral surgeon consult. That was problem #1. Problem #2 - at time of consult my daughter was 12. Scheduled apt for extractions then they called and said she had to be 13. Why go thru all of that then tell me I had to wait until she turned 13??? Problem #3 they told me my out of pocket was going to be $400. I have 2 dental coverages. Didn't make sense. I called insurance and they confirmed they cover procedure at 100%. Called for 2 days to try and clarify. Calls were routed to a call center in CA. After 2nd day, I just decided to cancel apt and find another provider. read more

This place is terrible for children. The Dentist has a terrible disposition. He is not at all helpful or friendly. He just walks off after scowling and providing his assessment of dental needs. No thank you or hello or goodbye. He just turns and walks away after a very short and grumpy word. As well, he gave an over the top estimate of what needed to be done. I'd get a second opinion. We did and the new dentist was great with children and offered a fair and reasonable dental care plan for our child. We would never return to that dental office. It's not at all child welcoming and friendly. There's nothing special about that place. The dentist needs to be reviewed for his outrageous estimates of what needs to be done. read more

Chelsea is the fantastic benefits coordinator and goes out and beyond to help you out and get you the best possible price as well as help you with any insurance questions you may have. DR.
