We've been going to the Baskin-Robbin's in Sparks since it was in their original location at Iron horse shopping center. I know kids are the serving the public and I always tolerate the lack of customer service because they don't know how the world rolls yet. It's hard when the ice cabinets have a defect and 31 flavors aren't available or when you do pick your scoop, it's melted before you get the door. I think if they're having freezer issues they need to close until repairs are done! Ice Cream is so expensive these days to be disappointed. Employees are hard to find. This is so evident here. Walking in the lobby was filthy. Tables not cleaned, trash on the floor. Employees were more interested in talking to their friend at the drive thru window than help customers. When one of them finally turned around and saw the line he slowly approached the counter. First scooped cone was wobbly on cone had to ask him to push it on. Scoop sizes were inconsistent. One was literally the size of a quarter. It's always a great place to visit after a long week at work. My go-to order is the chocolate covered cone with 2 scoops of pistachio and rocky road. My favorite server is Ivan and the service is always fast. For those who are complaining about the place closed at 9:15 pm, like most places they get low staff too and they need time to clean up and close store at 10pm. Went to baskin Robbins to end our date night. We specifically chose this one because it has a drive thru and we were with the dogs. I ordered a scoop of my FAVE jamocha almond fudge and a scoop of the strawberry cheesecake. My boyfriend ordered the caramel ribbon one and cookies and cream. All of our ice cream was great! I never ever leave reviews; however, this was devastating considering this was my son's graduation party cake! I haven't ever stepped foot inside, but the drive thru makes this the best Baskin Robbins EVER! I don't have to haul myself inside and I don't have a crazy wait. I worked at a Baskin Robbins in high school and yes there are more than 31 flavors! Did you know you should scoop ice cream with a scooper rinsed with COLD water as hot water makes crystals in the ice cream, makes it ugly. When I get hankerings for plain ice cream I tend to just buy a pint at the grocery store, probably a reason I haven't actually been inside this location. What I come to BR for is almost always the Blasts! Those came out when I worked there, and sometimes I just crave their particular version of cold sugar "coffee". Pro tip, always get the jamoca ice cream instead of vanilla. Its been a while so I can't remember the distinct differences between "mocha", "cappuccino", "turtle". But know it was the various combos of the premade mix, what ice cream and what toppings were what distinguished them back in the day. I circumvent having to know anything about that now, by just odering a "style" and specifying jamoca ice cream, and cinnamon as a topping. I sometimes also get shakes, because a mint chocolate chip ice cream shake hits the spot in the summer time. I am a kid at heart though, and if I get ice cream I just get a kids scoop of something like bubblegum, sherbert etc.. anything with crazy, bright tongue changing colors. Rarely i'll be more dapper and get something like pistachio. I am a bit biased because BR just hits that nostalgic heartstring for me... remembering sore fore arms, making huge banana splits, and that small taste of freedom without responsibilties you only get at a teenage fast food job b/c hello paychecks and no bills! But also the service I've had has always been friendly, and fast here. And if I remember right, the various locations are franchises so I feel good supporting local. I've never been a cake eater or buyer so I can't comment on that for this location, but as for being an ice scream shop, can't ask for much more. My mother placed an order for the cake the day before my sister's birthday. She ordered a mint chocolate cake with white frosting and requested that the phrase, "IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY." be written on the top. (It is a quote from The Office, our favorite show). When she picked it up the next day she opened it to take a look. The cake was sky blue instead of white and although the phrase was correct it looked like a monkey had been put in charge of writing the phrase. When my mother, who rarely ever complains about anything, asked why the errors were made. She was told that the employee "did his best". Seriously? You pay nearly $40 for an ice cream cake and you don't get the one that you ordered AND the quality is this terrible? The cake tasted fine, but we will be purchasing future ice cream cakes from DQ. I had the lamest experience here today. Employee was rude and literally turned his back to me while I was trying to explain to him that he got 3 out of four of our orders wrong. He still charged me for two creature creations that didn't even have the decorations but because he put sprinkles on it he seemed to think that was worth the creature creation title Not the biggest deal in the world but the fact that he wouldn't even acknowledge me or the issue really annoyed me. Well...if I had ever taken the time to look at BR on Yelp, I probably wouldn't have visited here at all. After a shitty experience at another dining establishment, we decided to go to BR for dessert. We were the only ones there when we arrived... a party of 4. Theres 2 employees and our first order is a banana royale, which is complicated. The person making the banana royale was non-management and was likely on the newer side. She was slow but trying. The other employee, Tanu, asked us what we wanted next - we ordered- she then asked if we were all together and said we had to work with the first girl. She moved to the next party in line, who had JUST entered (meanwhile we were 5 minutes into a banana royale that was only half way done). Let me condense this into this- Tanu, the manager, made 2 banana royale, 2 sundaes, and scooped 5 scoops of ice cream by the time OUR employee finished the first banana royale, a milkshake & 2 scoops. One of our scoops was for rainbow sherbet. It took her FIVE MINUTES to scoop ONE SCOOP. Why?!?!? Because its amongst the bottom 2-3 inches of product and it is beyond frozen probably way colder than it ever should have been. She scraped a whole scoop of what ultimately was freezer burn. The picture doesnt do the scoop of freezer burn any justice. But do yourself a favor, if your product choice is within the bottom 1/3 of the box, steer clear. Anyhow, now that Tanu has busted through the line, I brought the scoop of burn to her attention. She refused to look me in the eye and kept asking if I didn't want it, as if she didn't understand.
