We randomly ran into this ice cream parlor while going to the brand new playspace and indoor…read moreplayground, in the same parking lot, Energy. We ordered a banana split, even though it wasn't on the menu. They had the ingredients, so they made it for us in an açaí bowl. The bananas were all at the bottom. I wanted to ask them to put some on top of the ice cream as well, but didn't. Reminder to self...always inquire. They ran out of caramel, and only had chocolate syrup, not the strawberry, so we just took the chocolate syrup. They had quite a few toppings to choose from, and allowed us to try various flavors. We only tried one each. We also ordered a milkshake asked to be made thin, a glass of milk, which they don't sell in the fridge, but poured some since the kid wanted it, and one of their soda's. We then took one home to go. The young man in there was so sweet, genuine, has excellent customer service, friendly, the kind of guy you want working/running your establishment. You rarely see that in a teen, but they're lucky to have him working there. The games were such a nice touch like: tic tac toe, chess, a few we didn't know. It felt like a country home. The ambiance was perfect with the sliding barn doors and decor. Check this place out in Pine Brook, NJ.

I believe this is a new location. When I read online about their award winning gelato I wasn't sure…read morewhether or not to believe it. They won me over with the variety of flavors. This time we went for pistachio, chocolate whiskey, and blueberry basil, as well as baci and espresso. I was so impressed by the taste of the basil that came through in the unique blueberry flavor! Chocolate whiskey has hints of both tastes as promised, making me crave Irish coffee a bit. Moreover the dark chocolate vibes definitely came through well in the baci. Portions are generous too. Will definitely be coming back! 4.75/5 to be accurate..only taking a fraction point off due to no tables or seating inside. There was just one bench outside the shop to enjoy the gelato.

DON'T DoorDash from here! The service and delivery is messed up! Let me explain why…read more.. I bought a milkshake blizzard thing... with hot fudge, and whipped cream, and a few other things. When I opened up the bag, I was surprised to see sprinkles, no fudge, and the toppings were in the middle... so the first time I looked at it, it seemed to me like there were no toppings. I also bought a dog gelato, and also ONE of the pumpkin Oreo trays. Although we noticed that the dog gelato was missing and instead of one order of the pumpkin Oreos we got two. Of course we called the customer service line, and they told me they replaced the dog gelato with the pumpkin Oreos. And to top it all off they said "um sorry like we kinda don't have any more pumpkin Oreos you ordered so we substituted them with the mini ones" Odd, but then they told me to feed my dog the Oreos!!! Do they really want her to !!! Now it is going to be my problem!!! I was not really mad about the blizzard at this point, but I was mad that they charge me more. The pumpkin Oreos we bought were 18 dollars, and so were the mini ones. But the dog gelato was way cheaper. So then I was mad they charged an additional 18 dollars on my card for the mimi Oreos without even bothering to tell me. At the end of the call the lady told me she would call me back after she fixed a few mistakes! I'm so glad she said that, but she never meant it, because I never heard back. Therefore...... Never..... ever... order from Guerrero Gelato!!

We've been hearing about Eccola for years - so glad we finally made it here. The homemade pastas…read moreare delicious and the menu, overall, is so well-rounded, there's something for everyone. Cocktails were pretty good too - some a little on the sweet side but, again, somethin' for everyone theme throughout. Tonight we enjoyed the risotto as an appetizer and the beet salad - both delicious. Some others in our party had the mushroom soup - tasty and a huge portion. For entrees, my wife asked them to make an off-menu gnocchi bolognese and they obliged - and she was quite pleased with it. I had the gnocchi special with chunks of short rib - impossible to ever go wrong with anything with short rib! Very tasty! Our friends had a variety of pasta and veal dishes - the veal chop special was Wow! All enjoyed their choices. We skipped on dessert because everyone usually climbs into my SUV "bus" for ice cream somewhere nearby. The adventure continues! This is a rough business. It's so hard for a single restaurant to stay in business for this long but Eccola has stayed relevant in an uber-competitive North Jersey market. Eccola means "Here She Is!". Apparently, here she remains! Salute!!

However, we did have to wait a solid half hour past our reservation time with no apology. Our waiter was unfriendly, if not rude. I don't think he said more than 10 words the entire night and didn't seem particularly thrilled to be there. But otherwise, attentive. Food was solid. Grilled calamari came out lukewarm at best but was tasty. Mussels good but nothing special. Great complimentary bread. We all really enjoyed our entrees - salmon, orecchiette, and clams over linguine. Chocolate mouse cake was good but the biscotti pretty standard. Place was busy with a nice vibe. However the restaurant could use an update. Light fixtures, booths and some other design elements scream 1992.
