Horrible Service. I drove up from San Rafael because I was craving some BR ice cream. I walked in with a smile, because who doesn't smile when they are buying ice cream? I was greeted with a hello. Smiling I responded with a hello in return. Interested in purchasing quarts of ice cream to go, I focused on the refrigerator by the door. At the same time, the two workers walked behind the refrigerator area, and began talking to one another. There was No "how can I help you? "Or, "Let us know if have any questions. Have you tried our....?" When I was ready to pay for my ice cream, the employee walked to the register. No smile to me, I was still smiling. I made friendly customer eye contact. They stared blank at me. Not even a crack of a smile. And, no questions like, "can I get you anything else?" Just a dead cold- effort to not smile or give customer service look and a "do you want a bag?" Before the total appeared on the register. I trust that the ice cream will be tasty, because it has been for years upon years across America. However, I will not return to this store ever again. What horrible customer service! Went to grab a milkshake on this warm day. Ended up with a shake of milk, more like it . . . The shake was very loose, like a watered down smoothie. Didn't realize it when leaving because it was full and I didn't notice the sloshing! The young lady who fixed it needed more ice cream or less milk by a long shot. Not even close . . . I'm disappointed that this location has absolutely no adults working, EVER. The owner or manager is non existent, and not interested in hiring people who are willing to work, and practice communication skills, or customer relations. The teens who work here are always gossiping and talking on their cell phones. Yesterday afternoon, three girls stood behind the ice cream cake freezer, cursing and talking about other employees whom aren't doing their bleeping jobs and one talked about filing a lawsuit. Then they stood by the register fooling with the cash, then goofing off trying to get the television (which I believe is actually some sort of menu) to work, one left, the other two started goofing off while the place was dirty and in need of tidying up - they decided to "make some scoops" as we were leaving. I'm not certain the owner checks yelp, nor that they care what goes on, they're making money (hey, it's BR) and most people are taking it to go. Today I took my daughter for an after school treat. It was super busy but it was also a hot day. There was plenty of staff and this is the surrounding area was clean. The line was long but they zoomed through it really quickly. I'm pleased that more people are working there now. I'm bummed that they don't have Baseball Nut ice cream, as I was so excited to see it was available on the Baskin Robbins website. It's really the only one that I like there and it's a huge bummer this store doesn't put it out. When I ask about it, I'm told they have it in the back but I would have to wait for it to thaw to get any or they say that they are waiting for other ice cream to run out. It's only been out one time since June and we go quite frequently over the summer months. Other than that, my daughter was happy, she loves the Gold medal Ribbon. B&R always has tasty ice cream, rather creative, if not entertaining cakes (a turkey this year) and of course the revolving high schooler employees that always add interest to your visit being the drama they add or their sometimes deviation of the serving size rules. And I noticed that there was no option to order cones...So I called the store and what great customer service, McKenna, proceeded to explain why they don't have cones to order on DoorDash... They are afraid that they will break in transport... Great thinking... However we were willing to take the chance... And she was super amazing offered to put them in a bag put them in plastic protectors and they transported just perfectly. And the ice cream was fresh and delicious!!! I kept trying to get it loose to remove it but it ended up being nearly 2 inches long! If you like iceburg in your ice cream and watered down ice cream, this is your spot! My husband got a shake and he asked me to taste it and it literally tasted like they put water in it! Could barely taste the mint and chip. Why is it called milkshake when it's not but more like ice cream milk or slush. First they put milk in the glass container and then 4 scoops of IC for a large cup but not every employee scoop the same size like maybe they were making it for a toddler which I am not. Then I think they put more milk into the glass and then blend. Then pour quickly into the cup like most liquids. Maybe that's how that employee likes it but not this customer. For 8 bucks plus change, I don't mind if I was ordering a protein shake or some healthy smoothie but it's way too much for this milky concoction which I didn't even finish cause it's not what I had expected. Friendly service as usual. Will try again another time and if it's more like a real milkshake next time, I will update my review and rating on a follow up. read more

I went into the store yesterday, and as i was walking in they told me they weren't serving ice cream today because they were replacing they're ice cream cases(Completely understandable). But when i looked across the store I saw the disgusting floor under the cases. It looked like there was mold all over the floor, and the stench was so horrible I had to leave. This cannot be safe for the workers, and every time i've been into this store there was never an adult. I will never be coming back to this disgusting understaffed store again. I have such fond memories of going to Baskin Robbins as a child. It was a special treat and a great family destination. I was excited to find a Baskin Robbins in Novato and couldn't wait to take my little one there. Well, the ice cream is not as good as I remember. Maybe I've just had some truly good ice cream as an adult, but the flavors at Baskin Robbins now seem pretty forgettable. Also, this store is usually packed, and that often leads to long wait times to order, limited seating inside and something of a dirty store. On our last trip, the counters were littered with wet rags, splotches of melted ice cream and used ice cream scoops. Tables looked like they hadn't been wiped down in some time. It was kind of icky. The kids they hire to work here are so young, and they're clearly doing their best to keep up with the crowds and stay cheerful, but it's just not a super appealing environment overall. We did buy a small ice cream cake from this store on my son's birthday, and it was a huge hit. We didn't order it special, we just picked it from the case, but it looked great and tasted pretty good. My son was thrilled. There are probably other places in town I'd go for ice cream before this one, which is a shame considering all the positive memories I have of Baskin Robbins. I don't think they've kept up with the times all that well. read more

6/1/2019 Poor service -two behind counter I stood in the line behind three people. The two in front of me each ordered at least four things - So I know I stood there for at least 15 min. A mom and daughter come in standing there and the guy with the thick hair waited on them before me. Was I invisible??????? I did said how rude and poor service this was and then left. Sorry but if I was a state inspector I would close this place down. I saw the kid with thick air brush his hair back with his hand many times and then proceeds fixing food. Then I get here to write a review and I read all the poor reviews where they are all kids working and no manangers on site and all the poor service! I hate to say this but glad to read it! baskin robbins in novato closed at 9:20pm even though their hours go until 10pm. It is a saturday night and when we walked into Baskin Robbins the workers told us it was closed. When we asked why they proceeded to tell us it was a "special occasion". We waited outside trying to figure out where else to go and had 3 other groups with multiple people in each to get ice cream only to see that the workers had closed the store early due to their own choice. The workers are very unprofessional and decided to close early for their own sake even though the store isn't suppose to close until 10pm. Just went to Baskin robins with my boyfriend...he ordered a 3 scoop sundae....well it look more like a one scoop and they charged him for 3...there was three girls there...one seem to be the manager and they looked like they were no older then 16....I don't go there often. It there seems to be no other place to go unless I want to drive all the way down to Los Angeles to get really ice cream or make it at home....also it came to almost 13.00 I don't think I will be going back the anytime soon.... read more

So I'm a little confused. I checked google and it says that this location closes at 10pm on Friday's. I've never actually wrote a negative yelp review so fast. Did want to but the service I received left me without ice cream I was craving and irritated. I go in to grab a two scoop for myself and a one scoop for the girlfriend. Before entering I did notice the open sign was off but the doors were both propped open. Once again I did check before hand when the store was closed. So as I enter I notice a family of three ordering their ice cream. The young teenage girl is helping him with a big order so I browse the flavors. I couldn't help but notice three other high school boys talking to the other employee another high school boy. The girl employee finishes up the order for the family of three. The other employee is cleaning up the trash and replacing the garbage bags. The girl employee proceeds to chat it up the whole 10 MINUTES I was standing there. Both the employees didn't acknowledge me at all. They did happen to discuss grades they got on their tests. It's sad because I'm within walking distance but I will NEVER return. read more
