I have tried many "boutique" ice cream shops. All had good ice cream but none were spectacular plus they did not have that many flavors to choose from. I was driving down Johnson Drive and saw Baskin Robbins. I had never tried them before. They gave me a small sample of a few. They have so many luscious flavors it was hard to choose just one. Then I tasted Pralines and Cream. It is the absolute best ice cream I have ever tasted plus they have prepacked quarts to take home. The servers are young, friendly, helpful and professional. They are open during the cOVID-19 pandemic. You can either order your food to go or have door Dash deliver it. I was quite impressed by this location and I'm not a big fan of Baskin-Robbins. Their staff seems like they can keep up the flow of foot traffic pretty well. And they keep a pretty friendly smile on their faces while they do it. Not only stood there and watched the employee scooping my ice cream touch the cone with her bare hands but also watched the owner use his bare hands to touch every single cone as he was refilling them into the cone holder. I'm a semi regular there. Not as often lately. But after today I won't be going back. When I went in all the staff had in their masks which was great. But three ladies came in to the store. Obviously, they had just been swimming because they all had on their bathing suits. But..... no masks. One of the young ladies walks to the back of the business where the office is in her bikini and no mask. None of the staff asked the ladies to put on masks especially to go behind the counter. On top of that it was very unprofessional to have a staff, even off duty staff walking around with no mask and swim suit. No complaints with this Baskin Robins. It isn't a mom and pop shop but it about like any of the other hand dipped ice cream parlor a in town - easy, friendly service and good ice cream. Also, it looks kinda old/dated inside but it is always clean! The store is pretty small and all the times I have been it has been nearly empty but I hear it gets busy in the summer. Parking has been full often but not impossible to find a spot. You are greeted when walking in and they aren't stingy with the samples. The flavors are pretty standard but there is room for new or seasonal flavors. Being a chain though they certainly have consistency going for them. I usually tip because I try samples of the new flavors but it isn't expected. read more

In this ubiquitous land of cream, there are much better creameries out there for often-times less the cost. If you look on their website, you'll notice most flavors are artificial, oftentimes with more than 40 ingredients! For your information, Ice Cream consists of: Cream. Sugar. Sometimes Milk. Salt. Vanilla extract. Flavorant. That is all. Baskin Robbins manufactures profit by using cost-focused compounds such as High Fructose Corn Syrup, among many other highly undesirable ingredients. HFCS is plain corn sugar with stand-alone fructose added. They add fructose because it is the part of disaccharide sucrose (basic sugar, being equal parts fructose & glucose) which tastes more sweet to your tongue. When your metabolism encounters fructose without equal parts glucose, it turns it directly into fat; your body has no programming for what to do, because large amounts of stand-alone fructose hasn't really ever existed in nature in quantifiable amounts. Long story short, you're paying $6 for a careless 14 year old to give you one scoop of cheap watered-downed, boxed ice cream, and a yet unexplainable higher body mass index. Google that flavor you're thinking about, and then don't. I hope keeping that extra $2 they got for selling me two kids scoops instead of a single was worth it, because it'll never happen again. I've lived within five minutes of this Baskin Robbins for what could be 30 years, and have been a customer for most of that time. Shame on me for not realizing that something better was always somewhere else. Search out a place where the ice cream is real, prices are reasonable, and where you would have bought something bad for you in a brightly lit place that makes it all worth a return trip. read more

I made an order for my daughters birthday cake on Wednesday evening for Friday pick up. I showed up on Friday, and the side of the cake almost got completely smushed because the cake was not secured in the box. I asked the employee to tape the bottom of the cake to the box. Her response was, "I don't understand what you mean." So I explained there is cardboard under the ice cream cake, so please tape it to the box so it doesn't move around when I'm driving. So, move forward to Saturday morning for my daughters party. We cut the cake and I see the inside of the cake is not correct. I ordered chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream on the bottom tier. The top tier was vanilla ice cream and white cake. The cake we received was all vanilla ice cream with caramel and white cake. I called to make a complaint after the party. I was told the owner was coming in Sunday so she would leave a note for her to call. She never did so I did at 1:50pm. The owner only offered me a $10 gift card because I didn't bring the cake back in for a full refund. I explained to her there were 25 kids and we were at the party. How am I supposed to not give my daughter her birthday cake at her party with all those kids plus adults? Also, mind you that I paid $65 for the cake. In the end, she offered a $20 gift card. I personally do not feel this is sufficient and extremely disappointed and upset by this. My daughter didn't even eat the cake because she prefers chocolate but I told her we would do vanilla on top in case her friends prefers vanilla. read more

Baskin-Robbins is one of the few places that you can get a dairy free option. They usually have a lemon sorbet or a lime sorbet. Both are great with sprinkles. The staff here is always friendly and cheerful and I know I can always get something to eat. During the summer they get extremely busy, it's a very small store, so you have to be patient in order to get your ice cream. They are in a stripmall so parking is sometimes hard to find, and you have to park on the back of the mall, and walk up to the store. It is a great place to hang out when the weather is hot and you want something chilly to snack on. I would recommend popping in and getting a scoop or two. read more

I hadn't been to a BR in years but thirty-one flavors are enough for me. My old standard, peanut butter and chocolate, was even better than I remember and loaded with delicious ribbons of peanut butter. We went with a group of nine, both children and adults. Everyone was able to find something to satisfy their tastebuds. The shop is small. A good scrubbing wouldn't hurt as the place is lightly coated in sugary sweetness. Ice cream is a uniter and it certainly served it's purpose on this family outing. Will I go back? I won't be a regular but I will stop in from time to time. read more

I have been in Baskin's in many cities because it is my favorite ice cream shop in the Midwest. The one is by far the best I have been in in regards to customer service.
